IMPORTANT NOTE: No you're not seeing double. In the end, I decided to upload the fixed version because I do not want to keep a broken video online. I have unlisted the previous video (but not yet deleted the comments in case the previous commenters wanted to be able to get back to those comments). But moving forward, this fixed version is what is publicly available. If you have already seen this episode in the previous broken version, don't worry, this is the same thing. The only difference is that I fixed the "red" scenes with the missing video. Now carry on!
Good to see you giving seed propagation another go!! I don't think you mentioned it here but, you may want to document the temperatures at which you're able to achieve germination success. I know, it's yet another variable to consider. But, your soil temp definitely comes into play when germinating any type of seed. [Don't mean to nitpick... just offering a reminder on something to consider in order to narrow down a repeatable method. Toying with fine details/variables (length of day, soil temp, ripeness of seed, etc.) makes propagation so mysteriously enticing to immerse yourself in...at least for me.] Best wishes this time around!!
Frank, you're alive! Yeah that's a good idea. I've only been taking note of ambient temps (which made me think it's a good time to sow now). I completely forgot to mention the temperature range you advised me before though. It's something I should mention in the update/summary video I guess. Other than that, I think I can relate with you. It's a long wait, but I'd like to be able get to the point where I can start playing with finer variables like those you mentioned!
Hi chuck Very interesting I will be looking forward too see what happens down the track🧐🧐🧐 Your garden is just amazing I do not know how you do it🤗🤗🤗with family etc. Lynsie
Chuck you are a very lucky man too have such a supportive wife. Time is so precious especially as children grow up so quickly. 😢😢😢 Thank you for sharing your time with us. 💕💕💕Lynsie
Hi Mariangel, I didn't pollinate them here. I took the flowers that were already pollinated by the insects/birds. However in the next episode, I might film myself manually pollinating some flowers! It depends on whether the ones I've been saving have already opened or not.
@@Cerriscapades this seems a very interesting way of propagation...I'll be waiting for your video. By the way...you have a marvellous collection of echeverias and your garden is a dream. Thanks a bunch chuck!!!!
I think that depends on how fast they seem to dry out. You will want to keep seedlings in a humid environment because they dry out really quick if left fully exposed. You could either mist them daily, or what I decided to do was to fill up the tray with water, let the soil soak it up, then leave them alone until the top of the soil looks like it is starting to dry out again. It's summer where I am so I find that I do this weekly. Longer if I close the flaps on my mini greenhouse. You'll have to watch out for fungus though. They grow when it is too wet. It's a balancing act. You could apply some fungicide if you want though, so you'll have less to worry about. I was just feeling adventurous so no antifungals haha!
seeds wont grow here where i live.... i have been told they will rot before they will take .... and i dont think i can wait that lovg for the seeds to grow.....

Sooo helpful, thank you for being so thorough! I can’t believe how small the seeds are!!

It's so hard Lynsie! Especially with 2 kids with different sleeping habits! Really lucky that my wife allows me to have my time to do this.

Good job bro
Hi!! Can you explain us how you pollinated the flowers? Thanks in advance and regards from Argentina.

How often do you water them after the initial soaking? And how much?
