Ok. I have a confession… I’m a snob. I’m a middle aged woman who loves to crappie fish. When I saw this guy walking into the woods on a crappie video I immediately thought, “who is this country boy?” 🙄 I totally judged him as another, spit’n and scratch’n tough guy who thinks he knows everything about everything.
But Then I started listening to him speaking (with way above average grammar😂) about science-y stuff. I was wrong!!
He’s a Smart fella with a very different approach.
Dude explained the light penetration like a boss! I confess, he changed the way I think about it all now!
So Big Man, you have won over a new subscriber and customer! I’ll be trying some of that goblin color asap!
    Oh and … thank you.

Hey can't judge a book by its cover they say. Anybody can tell you to use this color buy this buy that but I'm trying to show you why and how its effective! Appreciate the kind words 👊

@@TurnerFishingg very appreciated! Sometimes I embellish for the sake of a good story. 😉 I watch RUclips mostly and support creators that put out quality information. Thus… I just dropped some cash at your website! I usually fish in stained, hot water. Going on a trip to fish very clear, cooler and clean water. I ordered a smorgasbord of baits from ya. ✌️😉

the ultraviolet light penetration is important.. I always check the daily UV index.. even on cloudy days the UV index can be high.. plastic jigs dyed with flourescent die make a big difference as well.

In the lake I live next too, it is a red or pink jig head, black body, green or chartreuse tail …. It outfishes anything else 10-1…. In the lake 20 minutes away , this jig won’t get a bite … there it is white or silver ..

something most fishers dont know, is baitfish turn lighter in color in cold water.. put some minnows that have been in warmer water in the fridge for an hour and see what happens..
wave action also affects how fish can see as well as shade. any night fisherman who uses jigs will tell you purple or black and gold are the top colors.. well if u think abt it, nightime mimics the deep water that has less light penetration.

My choice of colors is based on two things, condition of environment, and, what is catching fish. I start with gold and silver, then change to white, black, or pink. I normal have several poles rigged with different colored jigs

Black, white, and orange body/chartreuse tail. If you cant get em to eat 1 of those three, you might as well go home.
