Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Fareed was a 19th century famous sareiki sufi poet and
a leading punjabi sufi poet of the 19th century, he had knowledge of many languages besides Punjabi and Urdu. He himself learned English and also inspired his Murids to learn English. He belonged to the Chishti Silsila of Sufis. He was born in the city of Chacharan and also breathed his last there. His dargah is located in Miton Kot in Punjab province of Pakistan. His major compositions are - (1) Diwan-i-Farid (1882 poetry collection in Multani, 1883 in Punjabi and 1884 in Urdu). (2) Manakivee Mahbubia (Persian) and (3) Fawaid Faridia (Persian).
