this dude straight up a real J.Cole's fan
L u i s. Who isn't?
Get yo' corny ass ouchea....
Well when you're the goat what do you expect
Nah he said he didn’t like born sinner
Hoang Nguyen well he ain’t anymore
It's actually about his friends daughter, Cole felt the need to write about it. He's telling a story of his friend being a drug dealer, selling dope to feed his child, him dying and Cole making an album as like a letter for his audience hence the name:4 Your Eyez Only
Jeremy Diesel The same friend from 03 Adolescence maybe??
HardRock Actually the same friend from 3 wishes on the 2014 Forest Hills Drive mixtape
Oh yeah, I forgot about that song. Maybe it's all about the same friend. I thought of 03 Adolescence cause of these lines:
"You bout to go get a degree, I'ma be stuck with two choices:
Either graduate to weight or selling number two
For what? A hundred bucks or two a week?"
Two people from the same place but different outcomes in life
Tom Bosson listen to 3 wishes
Tom Bosson his cousin got of jail though
This is shawn cee and his best, with the cringy skits and the dark humor jokes, I love this. I wish he would do this in his newer videos lol. He's still good tho, but he's just too serious now.
tr. mateo Big facts

Faaaaaaacts.
It's because in his new videos he doesn't fake his reactions and act out more than he really feels. He's more real in his new videos. If you want entertainment watch someone else.

the entire last song was from the perspective of his friend that died like Kendrick on Sing About Me
Donte Looney no, she's mine part 1,2 and the last song and maybe
Donte Looney I thought it all was about his friend.
Donte Looney the difference is Sing About Me will make U cry cuz the track is the masterpiece the j cole track isnt boi
you dumb. both songs were great, swear some people bias is crazy. Like god damn this album wasn't even bad, i think Kendrick is way better than Cole but fuck this album wasn't bad at all.
i thought the whole album was about his friend that died
4 YOUR EYEZ ONLY
J COLE TALKS A LITTLE IN THE ALBUM THE ONE THATS MAINLY TALKING IS JAMES(J COLES FRIEND THAT DIED) .HE WAS DEPRESSED IN THE 1ST TRACK. MET SOME ONE IN THE 3RD ONE .MARRY THEM IN THE 5TH ONE. JAME DIES IN THE SONG CHANGE SKIPED THAT PART. AND FOLDING CLOTHES IS HOW JAMES IS HELPING OUT HIS WIFE CUZ SHE PREGNANT. AND THE BABY IS BORN IN TRACK 9. TRACK 10 IS HOW JAMES CALLED J COLE AND HE THINKS HIS BOUT TO DIE. SO IF J COLE COULD MAKE JAMES DAUGHTER A SONG AND PLAY IT FOR HER AND WHEN SHES READY AND CALL IT 4YOUREYEZONLY
BOOM!!
Luis Angel and the 4 is because his daughter was 4 years old
Luis Angel the whole album was from his friends album
Apparently, Cole had the "Exchange" beat before Bryson Tiller...
Davon85J after actually because trap soul came out in 2015
Adrian Barboza that doesn't mean shit, cole could've make the song way before tillers ablum dropped so shut the fuck up.
Papi Chulo 15 Nope, Google it...J Cole made Deja Vu for 2014 FHD, but Bryson's producer got a video of the track creation and reversed engineered the sample. He admitted it later that it was gotten from Cole
CptPickleJuice calm down nigga
+CptPickleJuice J Cole actually had Deja Vu recorded for FHD but he took it off the album cause it was to much fire on one tape. Fuck outta here for your bs
Yoooo this is my new favorite channel 😂😂

@@vesuviabatman ahahaha i always watch these cole album reviews like over and over
Humxa.LKツ me too
Same here 🔥
Same
This whole album was about his friends life and a message to his friend's daughter, he said that his friend asked him to tell his story when he dies and in the last song he mentioned that "if you're listening then I'm probably dead" and he hinted his friends death in the song "Change" got it ? Like this album minus couple of tracks was cole talking from his friend's perspective
Fearless Q8 real j cole fans know this. like he doesnt have a child yet, and his father didn't die. everyone is being exposed. this song was meant 4 our eyes only lol.
Fue Vue he just had one
I've been seeing this around, but I haven't found a reliable source. Do you have a link?
Fue Vue nah, its the word
Fue Vue I'm a "real" J. Cole fan and I didn't know this.
J Cole's wife had a daughter 2 days before the album dropped
Whaaaa really
Donte Looney I heard he has a kid but didn't know it was two days before, where'd u get that information?
Donte Looney nigga what u got connections?
It was all over the internet on Wednesday lol. On Tuesday they said she was in labor. Cole probably put the album off to coincide with the birth. Which is ironically the same day 2014 Forest Hills Drive dropped
TripleFreshGaming 😂😂
He dances like how everyone dances to no role models
jamie bond
jamie bond true
X X X so you dance like that? 😂😂 gtfo
😂😂 X X X facts. These fuckboys are embarrassments, fatherless embarrassments
said the person called 2pac obamo omg hahahah
He's talking about his friend James and James' daughter. He changes from 3rd person perspective to first to make connections between his own daughter as well.
The skit was actually funny Shawn 😂😂 Props to you 🔥👏
The 2nd part of Deja Vu's chorus Jermiane sounded like Tupac. You can't disagree.
Chris Martin My mom asked is that tupac?I couldnt figure out why she said that i dont hear it
Wait it isn't? DAFUQ BRUH
Don Don the way his voice is edited and how he says the words in it he sounds like Shakur
Oh i know what yall talkin bout i thought it was that guy from firesquad
Shane Morc someone's angry
For the last time, it doesn't matter who had the Deja Vu beat first, Coles version wasn't that great. Just had some irony to it.
Shawn Cee re listen to the album because there's more than one persons perspective in there he also gives a perspective from his friend that died James
Excellent gamer It's still not that good of an album
25 Savage Boi pretty good but definitely not the best
jerrygodeep No, it's just not that good
25 Savage Boi it's good not the Best. It's definitely top ten tho for 2016
best reaction I've seen of the album so far damn I was dead
False prophet and Immortal slaps hard🔥👌
queen LiLi
False prophets is probably my favourite cole single
Queen LiLi immortal is fuckin sick!!
No u
I’m not GAY wtf ?
The beat was originally for j Cole. Produce sent it to the producer of Bryson tillers exchange and he basically made it into the song exchange. But j coles song was already finished just not released. So it was actually his beat but yeah.
album of the year once you learn the story of the album.
Still no lol
Shawn Cee name one thats better this year
Atrocity Exhibition, Blank Face LP, Blonde, DWTW, the list goes on lol
Shawn Cee ok u wrecked my shit lol

Definitely not. Good album for Cole though
Shawn Cee Then which album is? your opinion
Yet to be decided, but Cudi is dropping next week. I'm making a Top 10 Albums of 2016 video soon, so I'll have it sorted out.
Shawn Cee Oh ya true but where's that new drake album did he postpone?
Great video. I personally liked the long intro to the video, it was very relatable to how I felt when waiting for the album to drop.
J Cole and Kendrick,
Are gold and eccentric,
Bar's told are septic,
Beats hard and electric,
Deep art that ain't frantic, from heart are cementing, there spot without panic.
albums like this and TPAB have the kind of message that make me proud of the artists.

Westside Yungin I agree bro
Guess I'm in the minority with Foldin clothes being one of my faves lol
Jeremy Jackson I like foldin' clothes on of my faves on the album! Says a lot....
Exactly! I love Foldin clothes
nah, I really like Foldin Clothes
John Rafael Sytin So you just gonna ignore the other comments saying they liked it too? Ok
I like it
I loved foldin clothes, It's message was so different from what you hear now a days. I found it refreshing to hear him talking about chillin with his wifey drinking almond milk lmao. Also I think it balanced out the album and added another level of depth to the concept of album.
Shawn Cee, apparently, J. cole had the beat before Tiller.
Back to this review with the same chills i had in 2016 ❄️🌎
Two years later and this album aged like fine wine. Cole’s best work in my opinion.
J cole the 🐐
Abe Z Bitch Cole aint no sheep nigga
aint no goat neither
Maybe after Eminem, Kendrick, Tupac and biggy
Joe Y and logic :P
Ginger Skull true aha
All these naruto songs in his video
Javier Grimaldo facts
If you listen to “change” hard on the service part, u can hear him(or if he’s acting as relatives or friends) angry and talking about revenge. I think it was awesome because he shows what the cycle really brings and brought them all together in one. Sadness, pain, anger, hatred, revenge.
J-Cole made me a hip hop head. Any other artists that are similar to J-Cole.
Lionel Joge check me out Bro Othell Shabazz new Album B.L.A.A.C Silhouette

lol when J.Cole said when I was 17.he already started going ooohhhhhh like what's so fire about him saying when I was 17
I didn't say "ohh" because of the lyrics, I said "ohhhh" because of the beat drop.
Shawn Cee mkayyyyyyyy
Shawn has DEFINITELY lost this “love” for Cole 😂
Frrrr
Yes😭
ong bruh
I know right
Honestly I kind of feel like since his release of KOD his music has kind of regressed. I still fuck with him but it has just felt like somethings missing to me
That freestyle you dropped was 🔥🔥🔥🔥😂😂😂
u telling me this joint got 2k comments and nun of them is saying what time each music starts 🤦🏽♂️
broooo i was thinking the same thing
This album still great two years later
4 years later
5 years later
the album begins as J. Cole saying he doesn't think he wants to live anymore. But as the story goes on, he meets a girl on the song (deja vu). They fall in love (shes mine pt.1). as the album goes deeper, Cole realizes his friends are dying in the streets and he keeps selling drugs. Then he has a daughter (shes mine pt2). on the last song, Cole is rapping to his daughter saying sorry but if you're hearing this album I am dead the life in the streets got to me. That's when i realized something. The album isn't directly about Cole. its about his friend. J. Cole wasn't in the streets dealing drugs. He got out. His friend is the one on the last song rapping to his own daughter. Then, on the last verse of the last song, J. Cole himself appears and talks to his friends daughter himself. He tells her that her dad died from his life on the streets but was still a good person. now here's whats crazy, That means the whole album is technically his friends life. But is still J .Cole's life. everything that happens throughout the album to his friend technically happens to Cole as well. there lives are parallel one another. they both found a girl they both have a daughter. but at the end, his Friend passes away because of his life on the streets. J. Cole doesn't die. He lives on to share his friends story. 4 his daughters eyes only.

This album was gold, had to sit back relax before taking a listen. Cole and Kendrick are on different islands compared to other rappers .
the album was dope AF!!!... my favorite song was the last one 4 your eyes only... and I love when he did that Tupac impression
Actually the whole 4YEO (the last track) was a message from James (who died in Change) to his daughter and before his death, called Cole to write down his story and pass it along to his kid. Cole himself came into the song in the last part "One day your daddy called me" and "And so I'm leaving you this record..."
That freestyle was actually fire lol
okay so this is late but for future watchers imma explain the album. this entire album is told through both jcoles perspective and also his friend who has passed away. in the last track ‘4 your eyez only’ the song is told through the perspective of the father of the child that was being talked about in shes mine pt. 2. which is also why in earlier tracks there is voice recordings of a little girl talking about her dead father. in the dead fathers point of view part of the last track, he says to “play this tape for my daughter, and let her know my life is on it” and the 4 your eyes reference is for the daughters eyes. in the dead fathers pov part of the song he also says “if you hearin this unfortunately means that i’m no longer with you” and “my pops was killed too, so i know how part of you feels” confirming that he was killed and is saying that he can relate to his daughter since his dad was killed as well. the last verse of 4 your eyez only is told through jcoles perspective and explains how the father told jcole that he felt like he was going to die soon. jcole also says that the dead father asked him to write his story down for his daughter to hear when he passes. then jcole switches who he’s talking to to the daughter telling her that the album is for her eyes only because it’s the story of the life of her father. and he further explains how her dad was a real one and how he was real cuz he loved her.
Is no one gonna appreciate these funny ass skits in the beginning
I believe that the simplest and realest words can reach the deepest points in our hearts. And that's what J.Cole is all about. Simplicity. 2pac wasn't the deepest rapper ever, but in my opinion, his lyrics touched everyones heart.
Sorry but this album is album of the year
Don't give af about how anyone feel

Who?
Hakeem Allen have you been living under a rock for the past 2 decades?
I loved this album I went into listening with an open mind. It really shows his ability to really tell a story and create a picture that you can feel, see and understand. Many people don't like the album because they were expecting something else and was wanting something more or different. I feel that this was a very complex album from the beginning to end (every song had a purpose and correlation with each other which brought the album together and you can tell how he has evolved). Every time I listen I learn more and grasp what he is trying to express let it be from his friends perspective or his intertwined of how he can relate. J Cole makes good music and I can appreciate this album for you really have to LISTEN to it not HEAR it... Makes a difference in how you perceive the album. #EntitledToMyOpinion
Change is the greatest song of all time
Agreed bruh
listening to it on a trip was life changing
look all these tracks were in remembrance of his close friend who died and this album was made for his friend daughter so he could care less bout what songs we don't like but it all makes sense when you know the meaning

bruh this intro had me dead 😂 insta sub
its not a bryson tiller sample dude, plus he made this song before bryson tiller
When he said ‘oooh’ i felt that
the deja vu sample was stolen it was orginally coles but then some producer stole it and sold it to bryson theres a bunch of articles that will tell u what accurtatly happened
Wish Shawn would still be like this, he’s so mature now and I like it but I miss this shawn
Album is beautiful
2 years and I’m still waiting for that mixtape ‘coming soon’
BRUH. Im dead at that skit. LMAO
This album is not a widespread album. Some may say this album is average, some will say it's the best and creative but honestly the truth is, this album is for certain people just like how to pimp a butterfly was, because even though it was rap album of the year, more people listen to drake songs than even 2 songs on to pimp a butterfly. Probably people who have a wide taste in music but that doesn't mean it's bad if you don't but some people
Enjoy things differently and being a j cole fan doesn't count
1 year later and does anyone realize that the whole album is from the perspective of J Cole’s friend who dies at the end and that Cole made the whole album for his daughter? 🤔
J. Cole is honestly like some kind of drug, u constantly hear shit from people about it but until u really check it out for urself u don’t quite understand what everyone’s talking about, then when u do check it out for urself u slowly start getting more and more addicted until eventually his songs are like the only thing u listen to lmao
This album is masterful
Least favorite is Foldin Cloths because it feels like it overdoes the lovey dovey stuff. The instrumental is great. I wish there were more songs. The singles fit sonically but lyrically they don't, that's why they weren't on the album. Lyrics are great & beats are phenomenal. I don't think it will be as successful as his last project. I think the documentary gave me expectations that the album would be grand in scale. I wish the production was more like the Ville Mentality & the first track. I give it a 8.5/10 for now.
The thing about folding clothes that actually makes it a really good track as well even if it’s not as lyrical as the rest of the tracks (aside from the ending), is the fact that it is exactly what it’s supposed to be - simple, which makes it complex in the end. It has a bigger meaning for being just the way it is when you put it in context of the whole album. The point of the song is to be simple and at the same time nice and uplifting, where it focuses more on the vibe and feeling rather than the content, which in it self creates the depht you might not get if you listen to it separately. It fits the album really well as the project goes through a lot of dark topics and complicated real life struggles. In that way I think Cole wants the song to reflect a mentality rather then the actual part about folding clothes; how everything doesn’t have to be hard and complicated if you focus on the light and the fact that there is hope. Like a positive reflection point and contrast in the middle of the album towards the subject matter. And the fact that he points out the actual folding clothes part so many times is actually pretty brilliant and relevant for the actual meaning behind. It shows that yes, these small things might seem inessential, but once we put them in a bigger perspective, we see how much they actually matter. And pushing that multiple times with super simple bars just paints that feeling of intense hope and the desperation of just wanting to feel good again in hard times even more vividely. In the last part of the song I feel like its even more evident how folding clothes also redembles the urge of a distraction and an escape from reality and the shit that’s really going on. You get the actual feeling of frustration towards the concept he tackles. As soon as I saw the connections I could enjoy the song much more and started to really appreciate it aswell
I listened to the whole track album during 3rd period and shit was so fire. immortal got me too hype fr
that intro remind me ... of bigquint...
Everything reminds you people of bigquint. If I say "hi" you people will scream "OH SHIT, THATS WHAT QUINT WOULD'VE SAID!"
Shawn Cee well it's not really a insult. To be fair, Big Quint is a real nigga.
2019 still here, pls don’t hate so much:(
I was gonna skip to the review but you funny asl bro lmao
J Cole: I never felt so alive
Shawn: Me neither, I shaved my face for this video bruh
😂😂😂
What I find is cool is that Cole can affect us all a different way on each album. U love 2014 and I personally believe it does not touch born sinner, or even the warm up but I can't say ur wrong cuz they are completely different and that's somthing with Cole, his voice barley changes, flow barley changes, yet no matter what, each song affects a different part of us which isn't understandable yet is true. Pac was like Jesus, Nas wrote the bible, Kendrick is like god, and Cole is a close disciple.
I can put some respek on that.
Ngl, Foldin Clothes has the best instrumental imo. I'd vibe with that song live.
