Hepps is so good dude I felt like I was playing so well pre 29 but he was just always either ahead or right behind me ready to take the lead if I made even a single mistake

      You played great that tournament.
Congrats on being back-to-back regional champion. You're my favourite classic tetris player❤.
I hope you can participate and win the world championship this year. I'll be rooting for you❤❤

Please excuse the least energetic commentary you have ever heard, this was the aftermath of almost the entire day on 2h sleep. Happy to see these get uploaded, I feel quite passionate about our events and want to do them regularly in the future. If you’re in Austria or nearby, please do stay updated with CTWC’s socials, we will have the necessary information out in time and would love to see you next year in Vienna ❤

Wow Hepps played unreal for a player I haven't heard of until just now. That match could have gone either way! This is crazy how many people are playing at such a high consistency in 2024! Looks forward to seeing them compete in more tournaments!

Should check out some of his old games from year or 2 ago he was one of the last great Das players to be able to hang with tappers and even some rollers in competitive play and win sometimes or at least challenge them well in defeat but eventually went to rolling which is understandable but its impressive watching Das able to hang somewhat to.

In my opinion lvl 18 has gone form exciting to boring honestly they should start at 29 and the game ends when somebody tops out

You start at lvl 18 to get into the game and score points. If you were to start at 29 then matches would last 3 or 4 minutes max

Players can play on the speed but 29 os still the kill screen and still really hard to play on.

The reason why a level 29 start would never work, is the fact that since the game itself is now modded for use in many aspects for one and because rolling technique is the meta strategy now. And score is used to determine who wins and 18 is the fair start point of any game.
With the ruleset now in play to where the modded cart uses a 2nd kill screen at 39 will keep the game from going super long. And starting a game from level 29, even with perfected rolling, games would not last 5 minutes in a lot of instances, because the game is so RNG dependent, there probably would be too many games, that can easily be unplayable on the 1st pieces because of RNG.
Now yes, a lot of players are now able to play for longer because of months of these players grinding and practicing the top level players play at, but that number of top players is growing, because rolling is the meta strat to play now.
Your gonna see exponentially bigger growth than ever on Tetris because more players are grinding out rolling.
I mean when rolling started, it was just a few people doing it consistent, today, the list of new players coming into Tetris is just growing leaps and bounds.
It's going to get to a point where the championship itself is going to end up requiring at some point a bracket of 128 player bracket style or greater in the future. I can honest see large growth coming in the next few years because of what the rolling technique has brought to Tetris and the amount of interest that has grown because of new possibilities such as game crashing Tetris, or competitive Tetris, or for getting rebirth. Which that in itself was only ever thought to be strictly TAS only, and was used as a modded cart because of how broken Tetris could get normally with extended gameplay and limited information the game could muster. To now having the stamina to last about 2 hours to play not only to get to the rebirth level, but also having to play at least 1 level where you must clear 810 lines to pass to the next level during the climb to getting the rebirth.
There's just so much this game has to go for, and this has all been unlocked after over 35 years of just understanding the game, to what rolling has introduced.
Obviously TASing it gave us the information out there now but again was impossible for a human to do outside of TAS. But rolling has helped bring in that opportunity for a human to be able to break through flipping the game back to level 0 which never would have happened without rolling.
Tetris from when I would watch years ago, was a niche thing 10 years ago, to now Tetris being something many people are sinking their teeth into because of now all of the possibilities to an 8-bit game with limitations now is being able to be dissected like this and not only for a few people to explore, but now tons of people are today.

Ah dang Sidnev is a top 5 world player, but Hepps was one of the best at Das who managed to become really good at Rolling to now, guess il root for Hepps this time.
