Nice views of the Subic area, should be a great home when done.

Do they use a concrete pumper truck or is it done by hand?

Again a great question. No I'll have a video in the next Episode 56 that I'll show the detail of how they mix on the ground and then use a lift to carry the concrete to the roof and finish the pour. All manpower intensive. Ian counted 19 guys pouring his roof deck. I don't know if that caught everyone on the ground mixing. I promise you Episode will be good to watch and see your answers.

I don't want to criticize but I have a but big problem with the poor quality blocks and the substandard block work,in Barbados we build our houses with cinder blocks also and we plaster the walls with a mixture of sand and type s mortar we lay our blocks with nice clean joints it seems like these guys are not experienced masons.

So I have seen the block we have delivered vary in quality some Ok some not so much but they fill all the hollow block and then have three coats of cement over the surface. So, I'm not sure whether the block quality really matters. I know some guys get really upset over the block quality. I look at it more as just the framing for the concrete pour. In the next Episode 56 I get a nice cross section concrete three layer surface Block then three layer surface on the other side.

@AtHomeinSubicBay-cw4ij I see some of the blocks that are installed are cracked that is not good what is going to happen with settlement or earth trimmers ? Some of the walls are going to develop hair line cracks also your plaster should be no thicker than 1/2" any thicker it may separate from the block in time or it may sound hollow if you tap on it. Also your first floor walls should be 8"cinder blocks and the second 6" and the 3" or 4" waste lines should've been in the wall, it looks like your exterior walls are 4"? If so that's not good.

You said in the previous comment you were comparing to Barbados. I'm from Florida so cender block construction I would guess would be similar. Here it is quite different please see the next episode and see if it changes your perception of the construction here. When I was in India they used brick and it was very different again. You might want to go back and see some of the earlier episodes when the footings were poured. The strength of these houses is about 40 ft below in the footings now completely buried. In Florida footings only about 4 to a maximum of 6 foot below ground and less than a third of the rebar verse here. Watch the roof deck pour on Ian's house in the next episode. Has a least double the rebar of any flooring in Florida. My point everywhere in the world adapts a different construction techniques. Your point of first floor thicker is based on the what I saw in Florida, but here the load for the top floor is transferred all the way down to the footings 40 foot below ground via vertical structural columns all through the house. I had a 2 story in Florida bottom floor was poured concrete second floor 2x4 wood, but the load was spread across all the concrete not here it is instead reliant on the structural columns.

@@AtHomeinSubicBay-cw4ij ok I'm trying to be open minded about what I'm seeing I hope all goes well and you guys do not have to deal with structural issues in the future when you should be relaxing and enjoying your golden years, you seem to be very nice guys.
