Ok but this really just seems like a CCM ad. I’ve gotten this vibe a lot with his videos where he claims it’s not about brand but it clearly is
I'll say something...
How much can the bottom of the one piece actually mold to your foot with the holder riveted to it?
A lot. But after its baked, it's way stiffer
I bought custom FT2’s and they are probably the most comfortable skate I’ve ever had, but that being said I have a different opinion on the one piece boot.
I love a stiff boot, but that being said I mean a stiff quarter package. In the two piece boot it gives you flex in the right area (sole) that can help aid in performance in my opinion.
I especially noticed my stability and ability to pick up speed reduce when doing cross overs while using the one piece boot. I just felt overall less confident after switching to a one piece boot.
I especially notice the difference when playing on ice that has been chewed up throughout the day the bumps and ruts feel much more noticeable in a one piece boot.
That being said maybe the one piece boot is not for me, but it might work well with others. As a player I feel skating is one of my stronger aspects and I personally prefer a two piece boot.
If you look at the NHL level the majority of players who rely heavily on their skating abilities tend to migrate back to a two piece boot or never switch at all. (McDavid, McKinnon, Crosby, etc...)
I’m thinking about making a full unbiased review on my channel because I feel like I personally wasted $1400 buying customs 1 piece skates.
(I have custom FT2’s for sale if anyone is interested. $750 CAD) size 9.5.
I caught the hidden text and nice ccm hat
Yet another great video for the HT team! 😎🏒
And yet 70% of NHL players wear Bauer.
"Not to note the ccm is better" then hole video is about the ccm
i think its mostly bc of the fact that bauer has a much better variety of fit profiles. I wear bauer myself but it would be cool to see if they made a one piece boot and get rid of all the extra things they put on the skate. They have the technology to do it but idk what they're waiting for. They couldve even done it this year but they did some jank version called the "unibody" or wtv.
@@leo_hockey7794 ITS THE PATENT, CCM WAS ABLE TO PATENT THE TECHNOLOGY.
underrated channel
You always have entertaining videos for hockeynuts like me!
I do hope all skate brands will eventually be one piece skates. However, the performance differences are so minimum compared to 2 pieces skates. If there was a real difference, them all.players would have gone to CCM and True. What does make a difference, is the natural skating talent, physical training and how much player practices skating exercices.
your vids are amazing!!!!!!!!!!
But pro-stock custom skates are made using a foot-form of that specific player in the initial molding process, one or two piece style. Surprised you ignored this aspect of actual custom skate builds you’ve been a part of, @Hockey Tutorial .
Whilst I like the comparison, it feels like a CCM sponsored video. I felt this a couple times before with this channel. Using both brands myself, I don’t really mind. Nonetheless it feels biased.
It is biased he is sponsored by ccm that’s why he gets so many ccm facility tours and sent gear that’s not out yet
edge nowhere gut feeling or did he say it at some point in a vid?
So what are the benefits of the 2 peace skate design exactly?
Do elaborate since you say there are some but from the video itself it’s really unclear what these could be after all this praise for the one piece design!
It depends on the company making the skates too.and the $
👇🏿
New to the channel and I am enjoying your videos, even if you are a huge CCM homer. I just saw your video on the lightest skates in the market. Even with the “non performance components” that Bauer utilizes in their two-piece construction, their skates are still lighter than their 1-piece counterparts from CCM. Why is that?
Also can you do 2s pro vs 1s stick review and what they changed
Sounds great in theory. Surprisingly not durable. I broke two pairs in two months. The inside of the skate cannot take a hard pass, shot, etc. It will crack, causing carbon delamination. After that happens, the entire boot is ruined. I loved the CCM skates, but they just didn’t hold up. Back to Bauer
I'm wearing the original 2014-15 Ccm tacks. You'd be hard pressed to find a more durable boot. Bauer's are gimmicky af with there tendon and lace bite inserts and have a pitch that puts you on your heals so have to spend extra on getting a custom pitch.
Not a fan of one piece which is also gimmicky. Perhaps it's marginally better performing but sacrifices alot of durability. Not worth it for 99.9% of players who aren't getting paid to play and wear the gear
ADV vs FLYLITE
If the bottom of the skate conforms to your foot inside, doesn't that mean that the skate will warp relative to the holder? Doesn't sound like it would be very stable...
So, did you actually weight these two skates? Same condition, I mean same size, actually different? Why I always feel Bauer's lighter than CCM?
Weight between a Jetspeed original and FT1 is FT2 is what I mean. Not brand vs brand
@@HockeyTutorialOfficial Thanks! Always. May the force be with you!
Based on a size 8D skate, a Bauer 2X pro (2 piece skate) weighs 871 grams. An 8D CCM Jetspeed FT2 skate (1 piece skate) weighs 850 grams.
So which one is better 1 piece or 2piece
i like the 1 peaceconstruction more
I'm curious how a stiff, one-piece skate feels: do you feel more raw and direct with the ice without an outsole in between?
How can they manage to make the bottom of the skate withstand torsional force? Or the holder provides the majority of the torsional support?
(Sorry about my English)
Matrix Mirage it feels much more stiff honestly. I don’t have preference one way or the other. But a 1 piece feels very direct. So much so that the first ice time coming from a 2 piece feels chattering and vibrations. You get used to it fast though and it feels good.
Fresh ccm hat
Chris. I don'r know where to look to get more information on this so I'm going to ask you. Bauer Hockey notified me that the Nexus Skate Line will be cancelled next year. The Nexus EE wide skate is the only skate that fits my son comfortably. We have tried CCM tacks EE but the toe cap is too narrow. Are there other brands of skates you can suggest? The Bauer rep told us that there will be nothing but the Supreme and Vapor skates and our only option moving forward is customization. Considering the costs of custom skates and the rate of growth my son is going through, we just can't afford hockey at that expense. Maybe he will play something else till he finishes growing. Thanks Bauer!
From what I've heard they will offer the Nexus fit in a new Supreme package. So Supreme will be available in several fits. From what I've heard...
Nos the hel is it possible tó make a one piece bootframe.
See if the boys can find the difference from the 2s pro and the adv
It is even worse Chris, my 2 piece skates weights a lot more due to all the shoe polish and glitter I sparkle on them.
Too lazy to go frame by frame for the flashed up text so what does it read?
it was sponsored by ccm maybe idk
Power transfer just sounds like sales rep bs to sell skates, are there any proof for it being real and matter in a real world scenario?
In theory, a one piece skate should result in a higher power transfer. However, it could be such a minute increase that it would in practice not make a difference.
I would argue in terms of power transfer efficiency (after boot rigidity) that the attachment of the holder (and the rigidity of the holder and runner as well) is paramount. Any flex to the mating surfaces between boot and holder (generally lateral forces producing a moment Arm) would impact energy transfer much more.
I am seriously considering the custom one piece CCM however I do have one really big concern. I am flat footed and do not enjoy am arch on the bottom of my foot. If I do a one piece that is oven fitted, will this be an issue?
hazelnut49 Did you ever get an answer or resolution to this question ? I’m in the same boat.
I wanted to see what a profile 7 or 9 would feel and look like . I just changed from my old skates to the bauer nexus 2700 and the stock blades were awful(i think the stock version comes with a profile 10/11). I went to the shop and they have the machine for profiling, but don't have the "guide" to get the profile accurate.he rounded it off by hand.it feels better but I'd rather have something smaller/lower profile. I'm looking for an image of the various profiles/radiuses . My plan is to show the employee the sheet or cut out the profile and draw it onto the blade with a marker. Could someone help me out?
If you have a image or any advice please reply to me! Thanks in advance!
This might help a bit.

Even if ccm is lighter, bauer has always had more comfortable skates
I'm a heavy lad, just starting out and have wide fit, any skate you reccomend?
BIG-LAD101_YT ccm is wider or bauer nexus family
Now you can try Bauer’s new fit system (Fit 3 is highest volume) for both Supreme and Vapor line. No more Nexus line.
Why do you like ccm so much
Gaming Heaven because he’s sponsored by them
In no way is this a Bauer vs ccm skate video. This is a 2 piece vs 1 piece skate video. Just a coincidence that only ccm makes 1 piece and all Bauer are 2 piece lolol
Ribcor is 2 piece
Hockey Tutorial but which Bauer is a 1 piece? Haha
Hockey Tutorial not hating but who else is making a 1 piece? Also I actually a fan and a subscriber but come on guys haha
Что, для хоккея не нашлось нормального, белого коментатора?
Once you go 1 piece you never come back to 2 piece
s_aubryizi True one piece gang
can you get these skates for free.
We all know you're a CCM fanboy 😜
😂 I just feel like they’re making the biggest moves right now. Can’t help but be a fan of innovation 😝
Hockey Tutorial the fat sponsorship and unreleased gear helps too doesn’t it
Bauer skates will always be better because ccm is ugly asf
🤔 so... beginners and intermediates = 🤜🤪🤛 2 piece!
and higher level skaters = 😖🖐 1 piece!
