Stipe is still doing an 8-4. When you want to be the best at a thing, you need to dedicate your life to it. If you’re taking both fighters at their word: DC said after he realized he could take the power of stipe he became more confident. If you watch it again DC pushed Stipe off the fence the 2nd time they were in that position and DC started walking him down and winning exchanges. Even before the eye poke.
Dc can be a slow starter sometimes. If you look ar DC's fight previous to the first Miocic bout, his fight vs Volkan, he was getting pieced up a little bit in the first couple minutes. Then DC started fainting, finding his jab, landing combinations, landing shots in the clinch and pressing forward and the skill gap became evident. I believe it was the same story in the Miocic fight.
I think people are forgetting how weak stipe’s chin is. He can’t take a shot from dc. Stipe couldn’t handle the striking of DC so there’s no way he can handle the wrestling. I think stipe will start aggressive and try to ko dc in the first but dc will to wrestle more and either finish the fight or dominate for 5 rounds.

I want to see what would 3-5 rounds look like with these two. Max/Ortega I've already saw what happened. Cyborg/Nunes also, I didn't see anything new in the Cyborg/Spencer fight, wild swinging that got her into trouble with nunes, so I don't see any meaningful difference happening in the second fight. Either Nunes gets the timing right and pummels her or cyborg manages to clip nunes early.

Stipe lost the first fight.. by KO. Stipe landed a few punches in the first fight, he even had some “moments”..but I don’t see any point from that.. Daniel is the better guy and he’s going to be the better guy next fight.
It was more than a few. He was hitting him with multiple solid combinations, and he was overpowering him in the clinch. Before the KO, DC had a decent right hand, a good jab, a good low kick, and a few eyepokes. Save the KO the round wasn't close. It was a beautiful KO punch, but I'm not sure Cormier can pull that off again.
I was my strongest and looked my best at 225, but I wish now I would have trimmed down to 210 -215. I destroyed my knees and now need them replaced. But the worst is the CTE, avoid those concussions.

I think the big thing with Stipe is the world is acting like being knocked out by DC erases all his prior accomplishments. DC even had the audacity to tell Stipe "I don't think you're are good enough". Anything can happen but I wouldn't be surprised if Stipe won this in devastating fashion (and it forces a trilogy). It is about time that someone other than jones whips DC's ass lol.

People think it's a matter of speed and skill, but it's just fight IQ. DC is a smarter fighter because that's all he does. He teaches fighting. His life revolves around it. Stipe is still doing an 8-4. When you want to be the best at a thing, you need to dedicate your life to it. He's still out there thinking it's about eye pokes and lucky punches, while DC is using a sharingan on him to read his movements and get a precision ko.

What everyone is forgetting when they say Stipe had "good" moments is that DC's gameplan was for Stipe to engage with him in the clinch, and then clock him with an elbow on the break. That's exactly what ended the fight when it connected. Stipe "won" those exchanges because DC let him. Look it up.

If you’re taking both fighters at their word: DC said after he realized he could take the power of stipe he became more confident. If you watch it again DC pushed Stipe off the fence the 2nd time they were in that position and DC started walking him down and winning exchanges. Even before the eye poke.
Dc can be a slow starter sometimes. If you look ar DC's fight previous to the first Miocic bout, his fight vs Volkan, he was getting pieced up a little bit in the first couple minutes. Then DC started fainting, finding his jab, landing combinations, landing shots in the clinch and pressing forward and the skill gap became evident. I believe it was the same story in the Miocic fight.

I think people are forgetting how weak stipe’s chin is. He can’t take a shot from dc. Stipe couldn’t handle the striking of DC so there’s no way he can handle the wrestling. Thiago was a #2 contender who never fought a championship fight and his resume was not shockingly impressive. Stipe was a former heavyweight champion who won the belt from Verdum and defended the belt 3 times from Overeem, JDS, and Ngannou. Yeah, Stipe definitely deserved a rematch more than Thiago.

I wouldn't be too excited about Max/Ortega for the sole reason that Max completely decimated and schooled Ortega for the whole fight. Stipe/DC 2 is more interesting to me because DC saw and learned a flaw in Stipe's arsenal which was that he exposes himself when leaving the clitch, exploited it beatifully, and got the win. I want to see what would 3-5 rounds look like with these two. Max/Ortega I've already saw what happened. Cyborg/Nunes also, I didn't see anything new in the Cyborg/Spencer fight, wild swinging that got her into trouble with nunes, so I don't see any meaningful difference happening in the second fight. Either Nunes gets the timing right and pummels her or cyborg manages to clip nunes early.

So very true uncle Chael. Everyone go back and watch Cormier fight in the Strike Force Grand Prix, you'll be amazed at how good he looked especially for his age and experience at the time. Cormier might be a butterball but he's an incredible athlete. I only wish he was 30 years old instead of 40, because I'd love to watch him fight for another 10 years.

Stipe lost the first fight.. by KO. Stipe landed a few punches in the first fight, he even had some “moments”..but I don’t see any point from that.. Daniel is the better guy and he’s going to be the better guy next fight.
It was more than a few. He was hitting him with multiple solid combinations, and he was overpowering him in the clinch. Before the KO, DC had a decent right hand, a good jab, a good low kick, and a few eyepokes. Save the KO the round wasn't close. It was a beautiful KO punch, but I'm not sure Cormier can pull that off again.
