    When Emma McKeon jumped into the water, she was almost a second behind. After four lanes she was 0.86 seconds ahead. I've never seen a performance like this before. Bravo!!

    After watching this live, i said to m wife (just from the observation), "Wow! I reckon Emma McKeon has split under 50 seconds!" I had no idea no female swimmer had ever done that - then read in the news this morning, that Emma had in fact, broken 50 seconds. That girl is ON FIRE!!

    OMG!....a RUclips video about a WR that actually mentions the PREVIOUS WR time so that you can understand how much was shaved off the old record for some perspective.....a FULL second off the old WR is incredible and the Americans managed to also break the former WR as well.......Congrats to both teams as it takes two champions to push each other to these levels!

    Such an amazing race. You gotta give props to the Americans tho. Nobody gave them a chance beforehand, but for a while they handed it to the Aussies. Guns blazing, this is what you gotta beat. Then Mckeon stepped up and destroyed them. That woman keeps amazing me.

      Yep, that split from Cate is still more impressive. Cate didn't ever swim SC worlds otherwise she'd have probably split some 49s.

    Fact is that USA is no. 1 in swimming world. No matter if we speak men or women. USA has TOP 3 swimmer to every single race + TOP 2 teams in relays. Whatever teams combination is.

      It's OK to give the Aussies a race or two. They certainly earned this gold medal. The anchor for the US shouldn't be on any more relays the way she blew that lead.

      @@pasimaenpaa2360 The Americans haven't beaten the Australian women in a 4x100 free since 2017 and before that not since 2013. Yes, a couple of legs misfired on this relay giving the illusion that the US were gonna win but Emma overtaking Brown on anchor was inevitable.

    I don’t much care about world records in swimming anymore. It’s so contrived and engineered. Records in swimming depend heavily on what suits are allowed or not, the shape of the swimming pool to minimize resistance, etc. Only the juvenile and naive believe these records hold the meaning they believe they hold.
