That's because there's an "outside perception" even from Australia and England's perception that we doctor our pitches to an extreme to suit our team's strengths but if that was true then the BCCI wouldn't have chosen that horrid pitch for the 2023 Odi pitch. Everytime they produced "rank turners", even we were susceptible to losing cuz spin is some of our batters' weaknesses.
@@nikitamohan3390 No one really acknowledge the greatest home dominance in the history of Test cricket. Imagine that even past WI and AUS sides even didn’t win 18 home series in a row. And common pitches were good till 2019 and is good since Ahmedabad test last year.
WTC must be given the credit for the way India approached the 2nd test vs Bsn, they wanted 12 points and not 4 from the draw knowing the table could get tight in the end
Thankfully you guys talked newzealands luck at toss.sometimes I even feel as India/neutral fan that newzealand lost 2 tosses in 2021 tour and 3 tosses in 2016 tour and I'm afraid their luck at tosses might make this 3 match tour not the most pleasant series to see eventuality if it does.
Southee is part of it. Henry/O'Rourke could make a big difference. Henry even offers 20 runs more with the bat. And do we go for Bracewell over Santner. That one's less clear.
I wonder if they’ll consider playing O’Rourke, Henry, Sears and Ajaz on any of the pitches, with Phillips and Ravindra in reserve. Asks a lot of Ajaz if it turns but on certain pitches it could be NZ’s best attack. Does make the tail quite long though.
@@thetoporderpodcast maybe not Bengaluru but I think it's worth a try. O'Rourke and Ajaz are legit and were well supported by Phillips at times. But the other bowlers and fielders also need to be creating pressure. Southee was economical. But the pacers need to bring wicket-taking pressure.
Really hoping the Black Caps can put up a decent fight in India - they have to find a way to bat smartly against the spinners and turn starts into hundreds.
there is one more guy in that u-19 squad called abhigyan kundu he is 16 year old wk batter , plays for u-19 mumbai , people are calling him generation talent.
Jeez that was a disappointing Test for NZ - obviously the batting was woeful in that first innings, but I think the dropped catches and missed stumpings were more annoying. Just not doing the basics well enough. Frustrating tour.
Yes all of the top 8 scored a 50 in Sri Lanka but no one went on to make 100. Whereas the Sri Lankan players made it count when they got in or were given chances.
I feel like they found the tempo to bat in the last innings in spinning conditions. I think Will O'Rourke with the help of Henry can run through the Indian batting lineup. I wouldn't be surprised if NZ ended up with 3-0 win in India provided they take all the chances created by the bowlers.
Wat was that from NZ , losing so badly? Southee clearly was removed as captain because he was woefully out of form and clearly shouldn’t be playing. NZ clearly has many problems with the team that needs urgent attention by the board.
Wasn’t a great watch - and yes as amazing as Tim Southee has been for NZ, he’s not an automatic selection any longer so it’s hard to be the captain when that’s the case and the team isn’t winning.
It was India at HOME. No disrespect to other's but we are probably the best right now. That was not Bazball cuz to be fair that was the fastest team 50,100,150,200,250 and England has never done that. That something else, perfectly curated strategy to get those point unlike English side's mindless batting without looking at their opponent. The English team just bats mindlessly or even made players like Root to bat in a manner that is totally opposite of what he does, what he is doing and good at. Don't disrespect Indian team's brilliant performance , strategy, presence of mind or talents for that matter. MB: Bazball died in India during the Eng tour of India.
No argument from us that India is the best Test team in the world right now. Amazing what a balanced side they have with so much depth. And yes the BazBall comment was a joke! Interesting to see how they go in Pakistan this time around. They have given us a lot of entertainment with this style and for the most part it’s brought them success.
Agree it could easily have been 1-1, and they missed plenty of chances in that second test too. Not all bad, but NZ isn’t in a position where they can be missing chances at the moment.
Is England going play Bazball at a minimum of 9 runs strike rate, at 10-11 SR against Pakistan to preserve their legacy and copyright. After all they showed how to play aggressive cricket to indians starting with CK Naidu Tendulkar at his prime Sehwag and SKY. Actually it is very simple to plan. After all it is only two tests and Ducket Pope Brook Root and Smith scoring at least one big hundred of 150+ Woakes Atkinson each making 50+ runs. 130x3, 40x2 straight away minimum of 400 runs in 50-60 overs and skittle Pakistan under 100 in first innings and 120 in second innings, pile up lead of 400+ following on. As simple as that.
The one that mattered! 😀 They did also beat England in a series before the final, but that wasn’t part of the WTC. Drew with Sri Lanka in that cycle too so it hasn’t been all bad, but being competitive in India and Australia in particular have been huge challenges.
I really think that India’s dominance at home is low hyped. Many still thinks winning in Australia is pinnacle. It is very unfair.
Yes their home run is remarkable - we talked about it a bit on our previous episode. Incredible to have won every single series for so long now.
Well we have 2 in Australia haha🎉

Yes great point. Every test is important now - not just about trying to win a series anymore.
How many cricket podcasts we got❤, fkn hell

In my book the best series ever was the 2021 Ind v Australia Series period ✊
Was a fantastic series that’s for sure. Let’s hope we get another entertaining one in a few months’ time!
Total overs bowled, 172, India played 52 overs, and won.
Yes it was a remarkable performance after losing that much time to the weather

NZ Batting as whole is not clicking. Once they get going nobody can beat them.
They are not reaching 350+ score more often which is the problem.

NZ let it slip in the first match. Take way that stupid Mitchell runout and it was much closer

A good conversation until they had to pretend that they are in the least interested in wiminzez 'Cricket'.😢

Did you guys realise that the only time NZ won away since WTC started was in the final against India?
In all other away matches, NZ did not win.

They won against Pakistan in uae
NZ is going no where in tests only they win in NZ against 2 tier teams. 3-0 writing on wall against India.
3-0 does feel inevitable right now, but hopefully with a few tweaks to the lineup and tactics they can put up a strong fight
