    Very good. Thank you have explained how to make viscose fiber. But, may i ask something. Why ball fall viscose must 55-60 second for spinning flow.

    If the fiber becomes white again, why are 100% rayon/viscose shammy cloths orange?

    lovely images, could use some atmospheric sound to make the gaps between speech less jarring. Just record the room where you record the voiceover, and put that recording under everything continuously. Can be looped.

    Hi, I am interested to know whether the feed stock material can be changed from wood to coir fiber. Coir fiber has a high percentage of lignin like wood and it is a renewable and sustainable material.

    • @hansgrundberg6839
      @hansgrundberg6839 4 года назад

      Hi! As long as yopu can separate out the cellulose from the coir, it should be working fine. The challenge is to get rid of for example silica, and to get a pure enough cellulose. Please Google for MoRe Research, then you will find my name under contacts :-)

    • @hansgrundberg6839
      @hansgrundberg6839 4 года назад

      No, it is to dissolve cellulose in NaOH with the aid of CS2, and then regenerate the cellulose into viscose fibres.

  • @ravimohan46

    What will be the purity of cellulose required to produce high quality viscose? Can the same cellulose used for paper be used?

    • @hansgrundberg6839
      @hansgrundberg6839 3 года назад

      Basically you can use paper grade pulp to produce viscose fibers, but the cost will be high due to higher consumption of alkali and a lower yield due to the large fraction of low molecular carbohydrate polymers. Usually a pulp with a R18 (how much is insoluble in 18% aqueous NaOH) of above 94 is used.

    is it possible to make Viscose from jute plant.

    • @nanak3363
      @nanak3363 4 года назад

      Viscose use wood pulp as a starting material.

    • @hansgrundberg6839
      @hansgrundberg6839 4 года назад

      You can make viscose from basically any cellulose from nature. The only challenge is to remove enough other components in the starting material. The cellulose has to be rather pure.

      Actually, it comes from side-reactions (by-reactions in the video) when CS2 reacts with NaOH for example.,
