Hi Paul! Lynn Massachusetts here. Love your videos and kind personality. Today's shave- Gillette Black Tip, Shark blade, WCS honeycomb badger, and Chilled Face Orange Creamsicle. Best, Ron Eastman
Hi Paul- Great shave and razor and soap review; thank you! The Twig is a nice razor- I like using half a Nacet or Feather blade, which provide a great shave. Lovely lather with the Swedish soap. Wonderfully colorful flowers from Mrs H; thank you, as always! Sunday dinner sounds quite nice. I hope you have a great start to your week. Be safe and be well. See you on Wednesday for the midweek shave. All the best best, Paul!
Hi Paul! So happy you enjoyed my soaps! 🤩 The other shaving soap I make is a Citrus Cedar, very fresh and easy to love. The Pine tar soap is more unique I guess. Have a great weekend!🌲🏕🌲
Hi, I loved your description of the Kali flower shaving soap so I have purchased that product plus there aftershave balm, very much looking forward to that shave combo. Many thanks and keep up the great shaving videos 👊
Hey Paul. Thanks for trying out the soap and I am glad you liked it. Mia also makes a Citrus & Sandalwood scented soap which is very nice. Enjoy your Sunday!
Have my Twig since January, I can't say anything bad about it. Mine is the Mercury. Sunday shave was Col.Conks Bay Rum soap Van der Hagen balm Captain's Choice Bay Rum AS Blade was a Merkur from a variety pack.
There's now Derby Usta broken blades in Turkey and from what I see it's much better than old Derby's. It's definitely sharper. Well it's not a long lasting blade but since it's aiming for barbers it doesn't need to be. I also like the non-coated Shark half blades (Egyptian Lord company).
Great shave Paul💈💈 Like you, I love the scent of the great outdoors in a shave soap/splash. My SOTD(yesterday)was just that, listed below. First, the arrangement today is beautiful, such colors..thanks Mrs H. Nicely lathering soap the Kaliflower, and yes the scent is a plus. The Leaf razor is a gimmicky looking thing but the Twig is much more appealing to me. SOTD: PAA Cube, Tallow & Steel "Boreal" soap/splash, Paladin custom badger brush, RazoRock "Game Changer .84" razor w/Gillette Swede blade, alum, Thayers "Medicated" witch hazel and Aqua Velva 5 in 1 balm to finish..Stellar. MOTD: Grilled Ribeye steak, grilled baked potato, jalapeno poppers and garden salad w/ice cold brew. Thanks for the video and chat, well done. Enjoy your time.
Beautiful display by Mrs H!!! Wonderful choices for your Sunday shave Paul!!! My Sunday SOTD will be the Gillette President with a Personna Red blade, Simpson Chubby 2 Badger Brush, PAA Cube 2.0, Phoenix and Beau Trafalgar Soap and Aftershave, with some Nivea Men’s cooling lotion to finish the shave. Meal of the day will be some Lamb Kabobs with some Caesar salad, Jasmine rice, green beans, and stuffed peppers. Have a wonderful day and stay safe!!!!
Just got the soap and balm in the post. Your description is spot on, smells exactly like a lovely pine log fire and the balm is excellent and you only need a small amount. Nice one👊
@@jonaspete it’s stainless steel with a lifetime warranty, should last you, just keep a de around as backup if you’re worried since it takes the same blades, great razor
I was glad to hear you say the Derby was your go-to blade. It is mine also, but so many people do not like them and I don't understand why. For me they are the smoothest blade on the market. Nice shave, and I love the Twig also. I have its brother "The Thorn" which is more aggressive on the way. Nice shave!
S.O.T.D. Outlaw razor, Nacet blade P&B Albion soap, Rose Otter toner, Birch sap and M&S A/S. That soap looks good I wouldn't rave to much about the razor Keith will be asking for it back. Thank you for the video enjoy the rest of your day. Keep well and keep safe.
Hi Paul sounds a nice shaving soap i will take a gander in soon really sounds intreaging, the Razor looks great also great review take care and have a great weekend 😀
Morning Paul. My SOTD Prewar Gillette Canadian Tech, Feather blade and Stirling Tangerine soap and splash. It’s hard to go back to a hard puck type soap after using the crope type soaps. I usually use the puck as a preshave rubbing it on my fade as you did then place the puck in a bowl to lather. Nice floral arrangement by Mrs H. Such a nice shave today. It is no question the razor is always out of stock.
Happy Sunday my friend. Excellent shave. Always love the flower display at the beginning of your videos. So soothing. Btw them chili burgers u made ,,,, omg so so soooo good. I wish I was there with u. Have a great blessed Sunday
Happy Sunday Paul another great shave 🙂. Edwin Jagger D89 with a Feather Blade. Barrister and Mann Seville Shaving soap and after shave. AP Shave Co. Brush with a Sinbad knot. Floids balm and some homemade citrus witch hazel. Thanks for that video 👍. Take care and be safe.
I really like my Twig, great shaver. I have some precut Lord Saloon Super Stainless blades that work really well in it. The Leaf blades that come with it are made in Egypt, so they might be Lord or Shark blades with the Leaf logo. SOTD: Stirling For Him(discontinued) soap, aftershave, and balm, 1959 Fatboy with a Lord Platinum blade, and a Yaqi "Ferrari" synthetic brush. Have a good Sunday! Steve
Great shave Paul! I find I do well with razors by holding them at the tip instead of near the head. It's a great tip for new razors until to get the feel for the razor. SOTD: Tiger blade (first use), Merkur closed comb razor, WCS Fougere shave soap, PAA Cube for pre-shave, and GF Trumper Coral Skin Food for the post. Have a great weekend!!
Fantastic shave Paul. Very kind and generous people in this shaving community. And you do them justice using and caring for the products you're offered. Loved Mrs H flowers. Speaking of which... isn't it about time for Mrs H to choose the gear you shave with :) Have a great week.

Hey Paul! The Twig is a fantastic razor! They have a new model out called the Thorn. It is a more aggressive version of the Twig. Great video! See u for the midweek shave!
MotD: Baked chicken thigh (pouch cooked, 'cause I'm lazy), chopped spinach cooked with olive oil and minced garlic, and a large baked yam (with LASHINGS of butter). Pretty simple and boring I know, but, hey, it's Sunday. I'm sorry and apologize, but I've got a number of SE razors, and I just can't wrap my mind around the Leaf. I'm sure it's a personal flaw. SotD: Gillette short comb New razor (short bar handle); Wilkinson Sword Classic blade (2nd use); Williams Mug soap with added glycerin; drug store alcohol-un-free witch hazel; drug store medicated moisturizer as balm, and Proraso green after shave. The razor just arrived from E-Bay, and looks really grungy but has nothing wrong with it to make it other than shave ready, and its appearance allowed it to be got at a bargain. The first use on the blade was in a Gillette Super Adjustable, and was just awful, but the second use in the New was very good (who knows why?). Although I've gotten a lot of outstanding and pleasant shaves with Williams Mug alone, I recently compared it to a vintage Williams puck, ca. 1975-76, which performs better than current Williams, but I found last week that a lot of glycerin makes current Williams itself much better, as good or better than the vintage puck. Each day I'm progressively adding less glycerin to the soap to determine how little glycerin is necessary to noticeably improve the lather. Best wishes to all.
Happy Sunday Paul! All those lovely colorful roses, thank you Mrs. H!! I like the smell of Pine Tar soaps and I even like the old fashion Coal Tar shampoo. I have not had much luck with Derby blades. I have found the most recent Derby Extra blades to be better than the 2016 model (those were not fit for shaving in my opinion). Stirling makes a few pine tree in the woods scents...Scotch Pine is my favorite. SOTD: Blackland Dart razor loaded with a 1976 Wilkinson Sword Sword Master Chromium blade (13th use...I am trying to see just how many shaves this vintage blade can deliver). Proraso Red shaving soap lathered with a Simpson Chubby 2 synthetic brush. Finished with Thayer's AF SF skin toner and D.R. Harris Arlington aftershave. Oh, Paul...a Roast Beef dinner...hunger pangs! I wish to have that type of dinner. My dinner will be poor by comparison; fresh sweet corn with butter and salt and pepper. Update: My Rocnel Sailor is on the way. Yippie. I hope the post handlers or customs agents don't pinch it. Thank care.
Hi Todd, thank you from Mrs H firstly, and I must look at the Stirling scents, I was amazed I enjoyed the Derby blade so much, your SOTD sounded nice, the roast beef dinner was very nice, I am sure you would have enjoyed it. Take care and many thanks.
Agreed, presentation matters and that was a gorgeous lather. While I must admit to being less than enthusiastic about the Leaf, the Twig has my attention. Not only a beautiful piece of equipment, I've yet to hear one bad thing about it's performance. A cracking shave. Btw, your meal sounds absolutely wonderful! MOTD - grilled burgers with baked cauliflower, broccoli & onions (brushed with olive oil, salt, pepper & garlic). SOTD - Gillette Super Speed (no date code), Williams Mug Soap, Astra SP blade (new), Aqua Velva AS, Nivea Sensitive balm.
Hi Paul...Have you tried Essence of Scotland's "Highland Bothy" soap? If you like the smoky pine tar fragrance you might like Highland Bothy: it has a very nice smoky peat fragrance I really like; the soap lathers well and provides great slickness as well.
Hi Paul. What happened at min 2:46 when you first tried to tighten the top cap, was there an alignment issue and if so what do you think caused it? How did you fix it, by wiggling the cap to drop in the right place? Thank you. P.S. I've heard of this issue from others, that's the reason for asking. Cheers!
Maybe the slickness is because of the soy wax. It is rarely used in shave soaps and is even rarer to see talked up in RUclips shaves. But it never fails to impress me. Coupled, as here, with coconut oil, it works wonders.
Are you going to try the twig with snapped other blades? I found when I switched to Dorco Primes in my RR Eco instead of the half Crowns that came with it, it made the razor so much better.
Don't worry Paul : Linda did the "I've done me neck in..." routine for you this week. We were both working by the way, so we thanked each other for our service! 😄 Great video Paul as ever🍻
Hhhmmmmm goose fat. Your gonna have to use that as a pre shave one day 😉. Get yourself some cranberry aftershave and you'll smell like a Thanksgiving roast dinner 😂

I have the Leaf and the Twig. I liked them alright. The best part about them is the look of em. They have a real nice and striking appearance when set up proper on the vanity. Unfortunately, the gold colored plating on the leaf razor started chipping and wearing away 3-4 months in, so it doesn’t look very nice anymore.
Out of the gate, the Leafs biggest con is the handling. It’s bulky and slippery when wet and it’s hard to manipulate deftly. Also, because of it’s relative bulk compared to normal razors, it’s hard to get clean lines. Which is why I got the twig. Finally, because the blade are encased by it’s unique housing levers with a set screw securing them in place, they’re impossible to rinse out well between shaves.
I found that I had a better time with a normal razor that had the rear single blade edging blade, like on the Harry’s razors. The Harry’s has a very open back for easy rinsing and drying.
It’s a cool concept, but after using it for roughly 6 months every day, and then returning to a Harry’s when I went on a trip, I realized how inconvenient the Leaf and Twig were comparatively, and I decided to stop using them. However, I will say that for body shaving, the Leaf was amazing. If I ever shave my body and chest hair, I definitely use it. But again,. If you do it in the shower, it’s hard to hold. Are you going to try the twig with snapped other blades? I found when I switched to Dorco Primes in my RR Eco instead of the half Crowns that came with it, it made the razor so much better.
Yes, will be trying some other blades in it.
Don't worry Paul : Linda did the "I've done me neck in..." routine for you this week. We were both working by the way, so we thanked each other for our service! 😄 Great video Paul as ever🍻
Fantastic, and thanks Linda 👍👍😀
💈👍🏻😁💈
My buddy Steve PIF’ed me the Twig and it’s a solid razor!!!!
Great isn’t it 👍👍💈💈
Do a review with emperor meiji please paul
Morning Paul! Big fan of your channel, would love it if you could sometime, make a review of la Toja shave stick from Spain 🇪🇸.. Thanks Paul:)
Thank you, will use it in a future shave 👍👍💈💈
Yes sir!
I was wondering if there was any specific reason you know of why the previous owner of the Twig did get on with it?
Long time follower great shave. What happened to be the music? I’m building my own paulh soundtrack!
Thank you, I list the music on screen in the intro with the flowers 👍👍
Good video as always Paul!
Are you following the Wales team at the Euros?
Yes been following the Wales team 👍 👍
The next edition of that soap could be made with a bit of roasted bacon grease 😉
But what was the music to the Signature Display?
Sorry I missed putting it in for some reason, it’s Ave Maria, by Bach.
📫.. I've seen your vid on Witch Hazel mixing.. How do you mix Aloe Vera (like Thayers) in WH, since AV is a gel ?..
I haven’t made a Aloe Vera one as yet, be interesting to see if the gel would dissolve when mixing.
His accent reminds me of Christopher Ecclestons accent. I wonder if he's from Wales too.... 🤔
What is your opinion on the Muhle rocca? I haven't seen a video of you using it.
Don’t have that model , looks great.
i like the TWIG, one thing though the head in my opinion should pivot a bit, anyway great video and shave, stay safe...cheers...Peter
Thanks Peter 👍👍💈💈
SOTD: It's sunday man I don't shave todays...
Hhhmmmmm goose fat. Your gonna have to use that as a pre shave one day 😉. Get yourself some cranberry aftershave and you'll smell like a Thanksgiving roast dinner 😂
I'm afraid you won't attract many women with that soap.
