I lived in Duluth Minnesota where they do not just willy-nilly shut down school for any old little snow blizzard that comes by, it's where snow day means you go to school. So, there I stood in the 73 or 4 below* wind chill, waiting on my bus, getting Frozen in places I had not yet discovered.. Hoping to see my mother come out from our temporary dwelling [mobile home] and wave us back in to the house and blessed central heat.
No. So, the bus takes us to school. Of course, we're late. The bus driver had been fussing about the snowfall and blustery wind on the way in. It snowed on, wind periodically shot sleet at our windows - aaand quickly BURIED OR 3-STORY SCHOOLHOUSE!
Aaand, eventually, they dug us out while snow plows did their thing to make roads safe for travel. We had our dinner and snacks in the basement who are the cafeteria was located. And busses departed the school about 9 or 9:30 in the evening to take us all home.
*correctly spelled -73 or 4° wind chill factor
