How many Ghanaians were traveling abroad in the sixties to justify the investment?
The 10million pounds Nkrumah single handedly gifted to Guinea as part of his war path strategy for total liberation of Africa,could have been used to provide several villages across ghana with electricity and clean drinking water at that time.
Nkrumah’s youthful exuberance dictated his reckless decision to use resources of his newly independent country without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to finance an unwarranted war against the well entrenched colonial masters, who still control ghana with English as official language for total liberation of Africa.
Through agitations and intense struggles ghana in 1957 gained independence.
Why Nkrumah had to use resources for developing his country in a war for total liberation of Africa?
I understand Nkrumah was president and minister for sports,meaning the president prioritizes sports over agriculture and infrastructures development such as roads and highways.
How is it appropriate for president of a newly independent country with no highways and few miles of asphalted roads concentrate on sports over the need to mobilize the citizens to construct highways and roads for future generations to build on?
I describe Nkrumah war for total liberation of Africa as unwarranted because it’s my conviction that if an impasse can be reasonably resolved through a dialogue why go for war,which entails loss of lives and financial losses?
