I wouldn't recommend playing the tough guy with a homeless person. You have no idea what that person has been through and you might be the straw that breaks the camels back.
And knives can suddenly get very pointy at times...
Solid advice
This is solid. I work with homeless veterans, and I was also one that lived on streets for awhile going through a divorce.
On my bad days; I was waiting for someone to challenge me. I put a few in the hospital because it made me feel good cause I was in such a bad spot.
I sense been through programs that help me become more peaceful.
But homeless can be waiting for you to pop off; so they can take everything you have and leave half dead.
Not saying I’m right but I peed on a guy in the subway, after trying to break his skull, cause he was being tough with his gf (showing off for her) and being very rude. This was LA metro _____line.

Hi Thomas. When I was homeless in Honolulu, HI my response to any 'challenges' was to leave as quickly and quietly as possible. I knew that these people were locals and that the Judiciary would favor them over me. So I'd never argue or question anything, ever. If they catch you sleeping you are guilty as charged. "Always be ready to keep it moving Buddy!"
And yes, if I saw a guy who I knew from the shelter hurting some babe...
I'd be looking for ways of 'gently' guiding him forward in a nicer way.
We need to have ZERO tolerance for violence in our society.

I was homeless in Chicago over 10 years ago. I was in the loop on the Chicago River. My camp was like the batcave. Nobody accidentally came across it, and I never took anyone there. I made money playing music in the subway.

@AbelLeba-tb7lg I had two tents. I set up the first one and then covered it in newspapers. I cut the bottom out of the second tent and slid it over. I could keep relatively warm burning a kerosene lamp but I did have to always wear long johns.
Honestly I feel it's possible that the guy who was arguing with the homeless guy had a bad day. And on his way home he must have seen the homeless guy and just decided he wanted too boost his ego and go threaten the homeless guy and act like he is some kinda tough guy. There are so many better ways too go about stuff. He could have called the cop's if there is a chance the homeless guy can't set up their. Or he could have had a reasonable conversation with the homeless guy and try too understand what lead him there and maybe even help him some kinda way.
He doesn’t need to help him in anyway. Calling the cops is more of a cowardly move. He could have been more polite but he did the right move. He could have easily beat that homeless guy but chose to walk away.
Skip the afternoon 'Meet & Greet' and just show up much, much later...

Caution, a person I know got into an altercation with his neighbor. It was night-time so the neighbor had a flashlight in one hand. When he raised his other hand the person I know hit him in the face and the man fell and hit his head causing serious injury. When the police came, the person I know bragged about knocking the man out. He did three years. As stated, the man was injured and couldn't walk properly for years. Fighting is never a good idea unless you absolutely have to; otherwise, call the police if the person is causing issues, you're not getting paid to fight so don't.
I feel sorry for this poor Homeless Guy😞.ME personly I think it must be hard to live in America😢especially if you're from an Minority-Group like Junkies, Homeless etc😭 Lots of Dangers Gangs,Tornados,Brutal Winters like in New York City etc very harsh Conditions to endure and suffer.1992 I was 1 Year Homeless but I got out had some Help and Support ✝️,Luck and after one Year thangs gone better for me ✝️🐸......

I know I’m not death but your girl has to stay away from everyone and everything that could be a problem getting her kiddos back. It’s a hard road back but if she does all she needs to do for court mandates she will get them back. Stay sober. Be boring and she needs good friends to keep her honest. God bless

I agree with liquorsnuff but would Also add to it. From my personal POV. I don't know if she is a Christian but I would recommend focusing on faith in God. Maybe she could start going to different neighborhood churches to find one that is right for her. I had to go to 8 of them to find the right one. The Church will help her build a solid relationship with Christ Jesus, give her a good surrounding of people who are positive and active in the community, she might find a good job by socializing and making friends of the faith, it'll keep her occupied in a constructive manor, also they could help her with material goods such as food, housing, clothing things like that. This is just my two cents, not looking for a debate. I wish the best for her. God bless you both and your loved ones! ❤️
Yes! Everything said so far. Accountability is key. All she has to do is follow a case plan, stay sober, work and provide a stable some and she can get her kids back. 🖤🙏🏻
