I actually love the white halo-halo 'cause all the good stuff are there: leche flan, milk, white nata de coco, white kidney beans, white kaong, pinipig, saging na saba, macapuno or buko and sago~

I appreciate being given the back story for Halo-Halo. I hate that we were colonized 3 times over but I will appreciate that we made the best with what we were given and what we had. And made them all into our traditions. I'm still looking for more precolonial traditions though.

The third Halo2 for me is the only Halo2 I want. The classic one is the best and ultimate halo2 for me. But the rest of the variants are pretty unique and interesting especially the last one with salted egg.
I like the halu-halo style from kuya J restaurant back in pinas. They use ube ice-cream or vanilla ice cream instead of shaved ice with the usual mixed fruits then leche flan and ube🤤🤤🤤

There's a popular halo-halo in my town and it's obvious that their ice is water mixed with sweetened milk so it's tastier but I don't like it much. It's still good but I would prefer a mix of sweetness and other flavors.

I tasted halo turon from a bulacan caterer and it is soo good. Another interesting halo halo I tasted is at CasaRap. It's a resto at Malvar Batangas. The ice used is frozen buko. What I really like with my halo halo is to have everything. The nata, kaong, red beans, saba, langka, sweet potato, macapuno, white beans, shaved ice, topped with leche flan, halaya, pinipig and drizzled with evap milk. Old school halo halo and what I grew up with. Tawid lang sa kanto at bibili sa tindahan ni Aling Engeng in the 70s .
Best halo halo I've tried is from Padre Garcia Batangas. Super sarap. The arnival from minatamis na Saba yung nagpaUnique dun. The toasted taste ang kakaiba talaga dun.
