So happy to see another video from you! Out of curiosity, are you on contract(s) with schools for your virtual services or do you have your own school psych business? I also have ADHD so I would love love love to learn more about virtual services! I am currently in the daunting process of applying to grad schools for school psych.
13?? I freaking wish!!! I did 131 evaluations this year along with counseling and psych services caseload at 2 different elementary schools. It was my first year and I feel kind of ready to leave. Left that district and hoping my new district this upcoming year is much better or I will be completely leaving this field
Help, how do you become a school psychologist? like what are the degree titles' you need to earn.. & are the requirements the same to be a school counselor? not sure how much of a difference is between these :/ I'm interested in learning about these :) tyyyy!
A school psychologist is different you do IQ testing and place students in special education. You need to apply for a school psychology Eds or PhD program. I’m in the Eds in Arizona
@@annysasapien1561I’m interested in applying but wondering if 45k is too much for masters program. Do you know what the starting salary in AZ is for school psychologist?
Hello! So I essentially am a telehealth provider , I work from home and provide services online (including evaluations, consultation, meetings, observations, mental health support, crisis support, etc)
@@etamommy nope, I use software that has been tested and shown to be effective to not impact outcomes when given virtually and with an in person proctor who is trained and facilitates materials
@@Amandaschoolpsych Thanks for the reply Amanda. I am in the field and that is fascinating! Give yourself a pat on the back for being able to do such assessments in that fashion. That sounds tricky to me but during impacts of Covid -19 and distance learning we did some similar things. For initial assessments though we sometimes needed to gather some information in person and so some delays were necessary on those until parents were able to bring students in often masked to do one to one in person assessment.
@@etamommy yes definitely! I would said there are many arguments to be made and I also was confused when I first started but now I see how effective it CAN be when done right and with fidelity. I think the best power of telehealth practice is being able to provide services to rural districts who are unable to retain in person psychologist - so students are going without a lot of much needed support
Thank you!! I think we are so similar. You made me feel like I can do this!!!
@@sarahmiller7890 I’m so glad to hear you connected to my experience! You CAN do it 🤗
It would be totally awesome if you can post a video about working virtually in school psychology and everything involved in that.

Is it difficult to work for a school that’s in a different time zone than when you live?
How much was your tuition?

when you say you are a "virtual school psychologist" what does that exactly mean?
