Thank you for uploading this video, now I'm not getting ripped off by $300 just for general service and oil change, gonna do it my self, oil and filter only gonna cost me like $50 - 60 total
The service message has 2 trigger values one is 10000 km and the other is date 1 year from last service when done at BMW dealer. If you have not met the mileage then you can change the date in the setup, on my 2019 G310R I will never get a service warning if I don’t reach the 10000 km because I change the date to 2015 in the setup it’s just a dumb computer.
Don't see why the GS and the R should have different oil grades. For the R(2022 model) grade is SAE 15W-50, API SJ / JASO MA2. Would recommend MAHLE filter as pretty sure that's what the OEM part is. Also should really replace oil drain plug alloy washer. Only need to run bike up before for a few mins. Also would add 1.5l of oil before starting if haven't pre filled filter. It takes approx 1.65l from drained. But other than that an ok vid.
Hi Nick just wanted to say what a great video you have produced here. Just one question i have downloaded the motoscan app but it's only the lite version and i can't find the full version anywhere, am i being completely stupid or has the full version been discontinued?
Just one thing. Watt is an SI power unit for electricity. More often than not, the “W” is mistaken for “weight.” Weight for oil so use of Watt really threw me. The “W” that you see on oil labels stands for the word "Winter" because this portion of the label shows the viscosity level of oil when an engine is cold. 🧐
there should be an alternative obd for you in your country. some people turn the date back on clocks to eliminate the service light, not ideal but it works.
I'm probably being dumb but do you need the MotoScan to reset or is there any other way to reset, and is it easy to reset - where do you get it from and cost?
I am doing my full licence next year. This could be my first bike. What other all year round bikes would you recommend? I have been considering the RE Hunter. Cheers
Hi I've filled exact 1.7 litres of oil and ive put a lil bit in oil filter (not completely full) the company recommends 1.65 and after idling the bike the level is above max did this consider a overfill ??
@@nicksepisode The OBD 2 tool which you are using isn't available here in India. COuld you tell me some detailed specs that I can use to buy one here? Here we have an ELM 327 V2.1 OBD 2 Dignostic tool. It says it will support all OBD 2 protocols. Will it work?
@ketanupasani709 I'd get yourself on an owners forum and ask that question as i dont have any knowledge of the ELM. The plug is an obd so i know it'll fit at least.

Good job !
Very well explained how to do an oil and oil filter change 😊

Nick, those QC supervisors were all over you to make sure you did the oil change right on Jodie’s bike!
They are my health and safety team. Lol

thanks for your opinion
@@nicksepisode well the oil grade is not my opinion, it's BMW's and so is replacing the drain plug washer. Thanks for the reply.
Another well explained oil change video.
Thanks again!

You have to pay for the full version within the app.
next maintenance you should get Jodie to do it.. I think that would be fun to watch
Definitely I'd like to watch that too 😜
@@nicksepisode just remember to shout bang every time she touches electrical things lol..
Haha

Slip of the tongue there
Thanks for your work. I just need to find another OBD2 reader. I'm not in the UK 😂

Hi. You can purchase these on eBay. The only way you can turn the service light off without it, is set you clock backwards

Hunter would be a better option. It is much cheaper and has a lot of character.
Still would love seing Jo do the service. She's probably watched so many of your service videos by now, that she's a pro. 😅
next one she promises she will
@@nicksepisode But won’t there be a new bike by then?
I’ll bet she’s lookimg at the new 400cc’s Triumphs
Oh yes, definitely a new bike for her. I can't wait to try the 400 triumphs either

It will be fine and won’t harm
Hi, Loved your video! ❤❤
thank you

20nm, missed that part oppps

Another great vid I am glad the Moto scan tool came in handy
Absolutely love that tool
@@nicksepisode good to hear someone is making use of it are you doing the rolling thunder ride to cromer on the 29th
