    In verse, you can use B dorian mode and ocasionaly B minor (carefull whith the 6th contained in Em9, and resolve in 6th of dorian) and B minor pentatonic. In chorus you can use B minor / B minor pentatonic...

      It certainly is an E9 add the scale would be Dorian for this section.

      Sorry but the chords are as posted, it's definitely an Em9. It's subtle but as someone who transcribes for a living I can say with confidence it's the iv minor in the key of B minor and if you want to think modally you can play E dorian over it

      @@666ATB666 Right. And as D maj is the parallel maj key to Bmin, E-Dorian works as the mode. At least this is how I see it.
