Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is a real-time strategy video game by Westwood Pacific, which was released for Microsoft Windows on October 23, 2000 as the follow-up to Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Red Alert 2 picks up at the conclusion of the Allied campaign of the first game. Its expansion is Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge.
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 contains two playable factions, the Soviets and the Allies, which both previously appeared in Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Against a human player some of yuris abilities would be mitigated entirely, but for an AI player that loves spamming units, Yuri is simply abusive.
Pretty much just giving you free money or extra units for defense.
I know your comment is a year old, but you are right.
Early Yuri is incredibly vulnerable, especially to Iraq and Britain.
Get a Desolator close to Yuri's miners and you'll tank their income.
Sniper in an IFV will do the same, but will be much slower in building it up but will have much more mobility early on.
All in all, as Soviets I use speed tactics vs Yuri. While I can pick where and when there is going to be a fight, no Yuri clone will be there in time.
And some players got careless quickly and started sending Yuri clones with no escort while my drones roam the field.
I used to think that Soviets not getting robots made them weaker vs Yuri, but when I played like that, I realised that Yuri does not really have an answer for early Soviets.
That said, Boomer submarines are BS, its literally just a Spam unit

The AI is still pretty silly. No flak Trucks to counter UFOs
ideally Gattling cannon should place one tile forward of your psychic tower to absorb the tank damage. They have more armour than the psychic tower.

I know this match has been uploaded quite a while ago, but a question came up: do veteran units bring more cash when sent to the grinder than regular units? Just wondered that since you cashed in your tanks from the start.

Didn't played a long time against Brutal AI. But the first time I tried it out was after I played a while the mod Mental Omega.
This is a good training for the "easier" most difficult AI from RA2 YR. I think I would be able to defeat *one* or *two* brutal AI.
By the way: *Did you use some kind of mod or so?* I noticed your defenses had some auto repair. Also your starting units were on max rank.

I read his reply from other vid in "Extra Hard AI" series. He use Extra Hard AI mod which AI will be strong af, btw this mod also has auto-repair as a built-in too.

Out of curiosity why do you not deploy chaos drones against the large clumps of enemies? I find many people overlook the usefulness of deploying a couple drones to wreak havoc on clumps.

@@zoom3000 Don't get me wrong, they are not very useful MOST of the time; however, when you get huge clumps of ground units (especially apocalypse tanks or prism tanks), they are a very nasty little defense that has high output to low build cost returns.

What's the hotkey to deselect a current building but not cancel it. Like when a construction is complete and i want to set it somewhere but there is a G.I. in the way for example how to i deselect it to move the G.I. but not cancel the construction??

Why do not you order to destroy the oil derricks, encroaching in the thick of the enemies? You won’t be able to capture them, and upon destruction they can cause good damage to others. Or do you have mods that make derricks no more dangerous than newborn rabbits?
Hey, in Extra hard ai mod, the AI targeting the oil derricks. It's only a matter of time before they were destroyed

I mean the oil derricks that are at the base of the enemy, for example, 34:59 the derrick between the factories and the construction yard would do good damage.

Yes, select one unit type like conscript, and then click "T". if you click one time, it will select all the conscripts in the scree, and if you click duble "TT" so it will select all the conscripts on the map. There is a button to select all the units in the screen, but i dont use it. I think its "R"

How to fix lag in extra hard mod
Do you guys have advice ore fixes for me my red alert 2 keeps crashing ? i have the original from origin. My specs are more than good to run these games.
Mine crashes too, and though I couldn't fix it 100% - it helped to go in the windows task manager and set the process affinity to 1 CPU thread. After I did that, it crashed once every few hours instead of every 5-10 mins.

Hey, as Adam said, i always upload the maps i play. If you ask me how do i get new maps, i just search for it online, and sometimes edit the maps by myself like creating an 8 players version from map that have only 4 or 6 players starting position.

Go to your game folder > Search for "RA2.ini" file and edit the "Video" options like that:

I dont say good thinking, but it build mass navy units like missile ships and aircraft carrier, and its really hard to stop it.
