    Dude, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video!! I'm not much of a wrench turner (although I'm getting better) and this video showed me exactly what to do to get my fuel tank off my z800. I was putting in a k&n air filter as well as chasing down a problem with the bike. Your video was a huge help.

    Thanks alot bro. Really helpful for me. My fuel tank leak undernead, so i need to remove the tank to seal the hole.

    and it was possible not to remove the tank, but only to lift it and climb up there?

    K&N is worth the change , have a clean pre ~oiled Spare for next change over it's Quicker ".

    Great video ! Did you drain the fuel tank before disconecting the tubes ? Or is that not nessesary?

      No the tank does not need to be drained. It won't leak if it's kept the right way up. It is easier to lift if there's less fuel inside.

    Hey man, nice video, thanks for that, it helped me to take of the plastic parts..
    i have the same bike as you have.. I want to buy a kn air filter too, but someone told me that i need to go on dynotune after changing the kn filter for the old "paper" one..
    How about you? Have you ever been on a dyno with this bike to change the map?
    And one more question.. what do you think about cat off on this bike? is it bad for this z800 or what's your opinion?

      I do not believe a dyno tune is required on this bike if you make small change like a slightly higher flow air filter. I certainly didn't need to. It has an oxygen sensor in the exhaust pipe and is able to self tune to a small degree. One down side of the K&N filter is that it's flow rate drops off quickly compared to a paper filter. It has to be cleaned frequently or you get some power loss (I've experienced this and there are test results showing the same).
      If you remove the cat or o2 sensor then yes, expect to install a power commander and get a dyno tune done. Very expensive for a tiny change in performance!

    Thanks for the upload. Would you advise doing the spark plugs seeing as the tank is already off. Two birds one stone? I’m glad you showed which filter you used also. Bit of a mind field otherwise. 👍🏻

      Thanks! On this bike I would only change the plugs at the recommended interval. These modern bikes dont seem to have any fouling problems. There seems to be no benefit to doing it early unless you have evidence the plugs are bad.

    Hi dude ! Thx for you video very helpful 😎🚀😊 ... I will also change my filtre to a kn on my z800. I already install a full exhaust line 💪. You felt a change performance after installing the KN filtre ??? Even a little ?

      Thanks! Yes there was a noticable difference. Mostly I could feel the throttle was more sensitive at around-town speeds. I couldn't really notice a difference at highway speed.

    Thanks for the video. Very helpful and easy to follow video for tank removal. I am looking to get windshield for my z800. Do you have any suggestion?

      I haven't seen any personally but check out some of the Z800's in Malaysia, they get into their accessories big time. My personal opinion is that the airflow over this bike is so smooth that a windscreen won't help much for comfort. My Z1000SX has a big screen and I get much more buffeting and wind noise on that than I do on the fully naked Z800.

      You can see my z800 windshield..i think you will like it. We have a lot option of windshield in Malaysia..the height one maybe can resist some air but the look pretty bad..I just go with the lower one

    How did this effect the performance did you need to install a power command,did it mess up your fuel ?? Thanks

      No power commander required. The throttle response is much sharper and the engine revs more freely. The factory filter was very restrictive. I would definitely choose K&N again!

    was the filter pre-oiled? did the filter made any diffrence to the bikes effect?

      Yes, the filter was pre-oiled. I did feel some changes. The throttle response was sharper and more sensitive.

      K&N filters come with oil already applied to them at the factory. The red color is the oil already soaked into the fabric of the filter.

      تمام معاك حق، أكيد متعب خاصة في المناطق اللي فيها غبار كثير. الترايمف كمان صعبة في الصيانة. أنا محظوظ إن في بلدي ما لازم نغير الفلتر إلا كل 30,000 كيلومتر تقريباً.
