I did the same thing Deku did this Todoroki, I accepted the feelings of a good friend of mine trying to over someone else I loved dearly, I've been with him for two weeks now, but the difference is that the person I loved before told me that he didn't feel the same way, and I was kinda desperate for someone to love me for who I am because that's all I ever wanted, and honestly I don't regret accepting my friend's feelings and being his girlfriend (even though I kinda wanted a girlfriend lol)
