Many years ago at Henfling's, I met James McM, talked for a bit. I turned away for another glass - and he also turned left to go for some food. My memory in turning back, seeing him walk away, thinking, 'There goes the Bob Dylan of the Nineties'. Still holds.
This is the tune my Hubby wanted for his memorial.. and so he shall.. he's been gone almost 4 years now. but I am JUST now gettin to where can do it ♥ Love James!
A Song as immortal and as profoundly alive as " Lonesome Dove " ... I Love His Daddys' writing ; but His Son has The Power to say in a single sentence , what The Old Man has said in His entire bibliography . American Poetry at its Best .
This is great, miss the live version where James says he used to think he was an artist...but found out he was a Beer Salesman....it just dissappeared off of you tube.
I would have preferred we'd preserved A 1/96th scale Buffalo herd, So that in my tiny apartment I could have such a vast mass, As a milling tufted carpet amongst my wild-west decore. And if I could wish more, I would, For a 1/96th scale Indian, on a 1/96th scale horse.
I have the privilege to ride with John Payne, The One Arm Bandit in the history making show he does with Buffalo, we just did some shows in Denver, then Rapid City. Song seems like blue print blanket over our traces! binkpicard - tube channel

Anybody that can't see the genius in his work has got to be brain dead.
If you ever see him live he says this at some of the shows- it always wins the crowd over!
No one captures the feeling of being alone in the south like he does.

Reminds me of John Mellencap in his early years. Sings about real life.
