So so sad. It must have broke their hearts but they still kept professional even though it was killing them inside I'm sure. Strong strong women beautiful inside and out these girls are amazing
True comment. Could you imagine if a band breaks up today? They'd plaster everything everywhere on social media, crying for likes, being vulgar, bitter, and sharing every awful detail just so they get sympathy, follows and likes etc. ABBA had grace and dignity right up to this day. Something which society have lost and unfortunately we won't get back as 'respect' but above all WISDOM has gone. But I'm doing my bit to slow it down and shine a light on positive people, music and life hence I get less follows because people have a 'thirst' for doom and gloom, blaming everyone but themselves and aggressive - everyone is turning so angry and its being perpetuated by some channels on social media including YT. I believe in integrity and dignity so to me that's the most important ingredient in life. Anyhow be well and enjoy the festive time with your family and friends. 🌹🕊🙏
Released Feb 1977 2 happy couples at this time, like 2 years until "the drama starts" ( Agnethas 2nd child is born Dec-77, And Frida and Benny are not married yet )
Good morning for you, thanks for continuing to discover ABBA songs "Knowing me knowing you" (1976) is on the album "Arrival" along with "Dancing Queen" and many other beautiful songs "Knowing me knowing you" is ABBA's second biggest UK hit (after Dancing Queen) with five weeks in #1 Curiosly, was #1 in UK in April 1977, at the same time that "Dancing Queen" was #1 in US So different and beautiful both songs That is the characteristic of ABBA, to be very versatile, avoid repetition and seek excellence and perfection in their melodies and vocal harmonies. The lyrics are simple but very deep It allows to express the pain of a separation And contrasts it with a very catchy melody (another ABBA characteristic) The combination of female voices is pure beauty (my favorite passage is when Agnetha does the echoing voice of Frida's lead voice) The video is one of their best They constantly play with the image of the threesomes And with separations At the time of recording (1976) and released as a single (1977) They still was two happy couples Agnetha & Björn split at end 1978, A.Frida & Benny at begin of 1981 ABBA have a lot of greatest and famous heartbroken songs, like: "S.O.S." (1975) "My love, my life" (1976) "The winner takes it all" (1980) "When all is said and done" (1981) I hope to continue see You in more reactions to ABBA songs I wish you a great week Take care My best regards to You from Buenos Aires, Argentina
hi my lovely dear, you have brought back a piece of my teenage years with your reaction. Love you for that. At that part of my life i was crazy about Abba and Smokie (living next door to Alice :-) ) I remember begging my parents to let me watch a TV docu about Abba. How are you? Wish you a nice week. We have a public holiday on Thursday and a bridge day on Friday - so only a short week.
Hello my dear great to see you and lovely comments. We've just had a long weekend 4,5, June then weekend for the Queen's Jubilee so that was great. Have a wonderful time off and pamper yourself and free your mind of any angst / worry and be happy. 🙋🏾♀️😊🌹
This brings me back to a time when the sun was shining every Day.. The Girls where all beautiful and out of reach..I was a teenager full of hormones..and full of Dreams.. Thank you for a Nice reminder..❤
Gosh who doesn't love ABBA.. there will never be another supergroup like them I don't think? Every song of theirs can be attributed to various degrees of our lives .. and love them or hate them, Im sure there are many out there that have a secret "guilty pleasure" ABBA track :-) love it, love it, love it xxx
Oh Haha I know you said you were going through a hard time but you didn't elaborate which is understandable as this is am open forum. I believe that when we go through breakups of whatever kind of detachment it's because that particular thing has outserved its purpose in our lives and in order to grow and find a fresh field we have to go through the rough period of separation in order to seek the sunshine. My dear ' even the longest day has to end' and you will get through this. Just remember YOU ARE ENOUGH, and from that standpoint you will never go wrong. All my love and blessings, Psyche 🙋🏾♀️🌹
Merveilleux! J avais 18 ans lorsque ce tube est sorti, la première fois que je l ai entendu j étais dans un bistrot et j en ai été bouleversé j esquissais des larmes au yeux 45 ans plus tard toujours pareil, merci ABBA!
ABBA had done 'break up' songs before but this one is known as their original 'divorce song'. As previously commented, it was also a sad omen of what was to come for both couples. Without putting too much of a 'spoiler' here, the 'Voyage' concerts, currently showing in London, do this song great justice with amazing imagery.
Psyche, you really look after me too well. What a treat another ABBA. What a video. As you remark, the sheer professionalism of (the absolutely gorgeous) Anni-frid and Agnetha in singing their way through the lyrics set for them. So much of the ABBA songbook appears, to me, autobiographical. Perhaps that is what gives ABBA such depth and meaning, which, along with such catchy tunes makes them so irresistible to so many. In what will probably be their last work, Voyage, I cannot help seeing the autobiographical slant still there. Fortunately, they seem to be in a much better place, with past angst, if not forgotten, forgiven. Almost the entire album seems, to me, an autobiographical ‘coming to terms’, but especially ‘I still have faith in you’, and ‘I can be that woman’. I really must shut up: I seem to be monopolising your comments.
Hi John thanks for your comment. Some commenters have said this song was before the break up and others like you have said it was about the breakup? Also Freida and Benny broke up too so are they also part of this song? Did they all break up the same time? The timeliness for the breakups is confusing but it's a great song that talks about what people including them go through.
@@psycheinc-theSLC Björn and Agnetha divorced in 1979, while Benny and Frida announced their divorce two years later, in 1981. This song was recorded on 23 March 1976 and released 14 February 1977. This is my number one all time favourite ABBA song. This song predates any marriage breakdown from either couple.
@@psycheinc-theSLC hi Psyche sorry for late reply..this song is from 1976 and Agnetha and Bjorn broke up in 1978. So yes the song was before the break up, but i think its clear in the lyrics they are trying to say that they are on the verge of breaking up and there isnt happiness in their relationship anymore hence them breaking up two years later. I think the fact they broke up in 78 and not in 76 when this song was recorded shows perhaps they were trying to keep things together and i think it only emerged years and years after the break up that Agnetha was singing about her and Bjorn's marriage here. I think perhaps originally they tried to pretend they were singing about another couple, not themselves. And when they divorced in 1978, they told the media it was a 'happy' divorce, then 20 years later or so Agnetha admitted that was all a front for the media and stated 20 years on 'there is no such thing as a 'happy' divorce.' No Frida and Benny i suspect arent part of this song at all because they didnt break up until 1981 so im assuming that in 1976 when the above song was recorded, things were happy in Benny and Frida's marriage. The ABBA song 'When All Is Said and Done' seems to reflect Benny and Frida's break up, that was recorded in 1981, same year as they split
Hello my dear psyche are you thinking of going to see the virtual concert that is playing in London. I regret so much never having seen them in concert but I don't know if I would want to see singing holograms
Good morning Bernard - I hope this Tuesday finds you well. Thanks for your comments. In the beginning I thought it would be great to attend, but so many and I mean so many people have posted about it and there's so much content online now, I feel I've already been. Also I couldn't afford the tickets (unless I received them under different circumstances) so no. As for the holograms, for me I think it would be easier to watch knowing they're all still alive than if they had passed. However I strongly believe these kind of shows will be a massive new concept for Record Companies/Management of deceased Artists to undertake such shows. Not sure how I feel about that. Great point made though. 🌹

Hi Herman thanks for your comments much appreciated - the last bit made me smile. Unfortunately the answer is no, I don't take requests as I don't get paid for that and I already give a lot of time for free so people can watch for free. When people subscribe it's to tell them what I'm showing but does not pay me. When I play an artist it is them who gets the revenue, so I choose where that revenue goes as I am the one doing all the work to promote them - I have to rely on people treating the channel to coffee as my time needs to be paid for and help keep things afloat. I've seen the artist and views are very low on Y,T, but a channel has reacted to it so I've attached the link for your enjoyment. Even popular acts struggle these days, including The Carpenters - so all the work put into making these videos have to be worthwhile with people watching them to grow the channel, so I have to stay with what the majority will watch. Have a great week. Here's the link of the channel who has shown it ruclips.net/video/NAR0RYT1YPA/видео.html.
