Como tataranieta de un asturiano, me emociona ver tan bellos paisajes, y pensar en aquellos lugares en que mi familia vivió. Hermoso video. Saludos desde Argentina.

Would you like to know the origin of Spain's Industrial Revolution? Don't miss the Nalón Valley (Valle del Nalón), a valley that has everything, just 15 minutes from Oviedo and 20 from Gijon in “Asturias”.
In the Nalón Valley you will find 11 museums, including the “Museo de la Siderurgia MUSI” (Iron and Steel Museum), the “el Museo de la Madera y de la Madreña” (Wood and Motherhood Museum), the “Museo de la Minería MUMI” (Mining Museum), “La Casa del Agua" (the Water House), the “Pinacoteca de Langreo” (Art Gallery), “El Museo de la Apicultura” (the Beekeeping Museum) and the House “Museum of the writer Palacio Valdés”, the “Centro de Experiencias y Memoria Minera CEMM” (the Center of Mining Experience and Memory) the “Centro de Interpretación del Parque de Redes CIPR” (Interpretation Centre of the Parque de Redes) star culmination for the museum inside the “Pozo Sotón” (only for brave people who really want to go down and walk through a real mine, in which, dressed as miners, you will be able to chop and take your own coal stone), there is also the spectacular new “Ecomuseo del Valle del Samuño” (Ecomuseum of the Samuño Valley), where you can travel in a mining train through beautiful landscapes, and then arrive at “La Nueva” village, and see its museum there.
The Nalon Valley, presents many untapped possibilities, where the entire industrial revolution of Spain began, from there came the coal to be able to supply and move the whole country, or the “Duro Felguera”, where the metal was worked and today, is still preparing in silence all that area to make it known to the world.
Know that in a few years, if their neighbors propose, will be very powerful, nothing has to envy “Cangas de Onís”, as it has so many routes and places, such as the “Ruta del Alba” (the most famous) the “Ascension to Peña Mea”, the “Coto Musel”, “La Camperona”, “La Faya de los Lobos”, “La Trapa” The route of the waterfall “L'Tabayón” and so with 49 routes that if organized, can be enhanced separately one by one for each activity, for horses, for Quad, for MTB, Trial, Motocross and Enduro, to go on foot, for climbing, caving, kayaking, fishing...
Oh and if you walk along the path of the “la Senda del Trole” and carry a lighter, I'll tell you a secret, you'll find The “El Mechero de Saus”, ¡¡¡IT'S SOMETHING UNIQUE IN THE WORLD!!! the locals call it "the eternal flame" (look for information about it) ...
In the area we also find various Roman bridges which do not envy the one in “Cangas de Onís” ( as it seems that this is the only one which is promoted in the principality of “Asturias”) the first of these is in “Puente de Arcu” in the “Pola de Laviana”, a village in which there is the fantastic “Descenso Folklórico de Laviana” Folkloric Descent from “Pola de Laviana”, an emblematic fiesta and declared of national tourist interest (look for it on youtube and you will hallucinate) or the National Competition of “Sotrondio” village, called “Competicion Nacional de Charangas de Sotrondio”.
In addition the whole valley has various Roman and medieval watchtowers throughout the valley from the Collegiate Church of “La Colegiata de Santa Maria la Real” in “Tanes” next to the reservoir, the Villamorey Tower “La Torre de Villamorrey” in “Sobrescobio” village, the Dolmen of “Dolmen de La Campa L'Escañal”, “La Torre de La quintana y la casa de los Solís” in Ciaño Village, the hermitage of “El Carbayu” village... They have the National Park of “Redes” (called El Yellowstone astur), the “Tanes” Reservoir, where it would be beautiful that they finally give the green light and make it navigable and can promote the rural houses, in “Langreo” city they are waiting to give the green light to the project of making two fluvial beaches in the Nalón river (the longest and most emblematic of the principality of “Asturias”) and that it would be nice that once and for all, you could go down in a kayak, because it is a beautiful river, (and besides, the “Sella” River is overcrowded) Nearby you have the “La Ruta del Alba”, and there the Restaurant “Merendero Molino Del Alba”, in the “Soto de Agues” village, where the little ones will be able to fish their own trout and eat it...
If you come to see one of their Rallye (“La subida a Santo Emiliano” Rallye without going too far) do not leave without visiting the new park of “Parque Alcalde García Lago” in “La Felguera” city, which is beautiful, with its pond and full of ducks and its birdhouse, there you will be surprised, city where beer is made in the emblematic bar "El Brew Pub Espumeru & Curuxera Brewey” in “La Felguera”, which is the only place that sells, along with “Sama”, to be able to see all its streets clean and well cared for, along with old buildings restored, The square of the City Council of “Sama” where it is cared for in the smallest detail and increasingly full of life, to then visit the park "Antonio María Dorado" is located in the center of "Sama", in the Asturian municipality of "Langreo" where you can see besides several mining monuments as "La Carbonera" the German locomotive number 6 of “Carbones La Nueva”, called 'Pepe', next to the area of miniature golf, paddle tennis, ping pong and children's play area, looking across the river at one of the city's many sports areas.
The Nalón Valley offers us an excellent gastronomy (Menus of the day with three dishes of food and homemade dessert for less than 10 euros), and to be able to lower the food, you will have at your disposal a whole walk of more than 20km along the river Nalón (the largest in Asturias) and it is practically flat, very careful and paved to be able to run, ride a bike or skate. When you arrive at the park called “parque de El Florán” is located between the towns of “Blimea” and “Sotrondio” villages, you will see that it is one of the most beautiful parks you can visit in Asturias, and when you decide to go up and get lost in the mountains, you will find yourself at the “El Alto de la Colladiella”... What a beautiful, unspoilt landscape... Do not forget the one you go up, stop to eat at “Casa Migio”
Go up to the “El Carbayu”, observe the views of the valley from the chapel, visit “La Falla de los Lobos”, or the “Picu de los Tres Concejos”, go up to the “El Mayau Solís”, in all of them you will be amazed by the views, you can see mining villages like “Pampiedra” in “La Nueva” next to the “Ecomuseo Valle del Samuño” or the “La Hueria Carrocera” in “San Martín del Rey Aureliosee the famous well of the mine "El Pozo María Luisa" in the village of "Ciaño" where you will also find the Park "Rosario Felgueroso", there is the monument to the figure of "Los Hermanos Felgueroso" (the brothers Felgueroso) great founders of the Mine in this town, or the emblematic bridge of braces that crosses the Nalón River in Sama, and the local shops in its towns are full of quality... Visit “Canzana” and stay there, to amaze you, with its views, what a luxury gastronomy they have and cheap, the star dish of the area, the “Cabrito”, which can be order “a la estaca” or “asado”, delicious...
For having, they have four theaters that if they know how to move 'could give great shows, until a mall called “Alcampo Valle del Nalón” in which they offer us to enjoy several large and spacious cinemas, and the best, for only 4 euros you can see all the premieres!
I think that all this area is a success to discover it and is still preparing quietly to launch it to tourism in a few years, take advantage to visit it now that it is still virgin and not even the neighbors of the area are aware of what they have, (something that benefits our pockets) know that you can today, buy a house or apartment for 40,000 euros onwards, it is amazing that no one has yet discovered this part of the principality of “Asturias”.
Valle del Nalón, there is so much to see, so much to discover.
