    Sir, why that particular irreducible polynomial is used?

  • @asharneyaz7
    @asharneyaz7 Год назад

    Sir, at video length 2:31, there is a mistake in the matrix value when the message and key XOR operation was done. In the 3rd column last element, it should be 08 instead of 0f.

    When you get a irreducible polynomial, does p(x) always result in x^8+x^4+x^3+x+1 ?

    • @aragonarathon2066
      @aragonarathon2066 Год назад +2

      Yes, when your output in mixColumns is greater than x^7 you need to use a irreducible polynomial, and the exact one you stated in your comment is intended to be used as said by the aes developers

    After going through the whole encryption and decryption cycle of AES. I have 2 questions in my mind.
    Question 1
    Why initial transformation is performed? Like we are just XORing the round 0 key with input vector. Why not going through the whole transformation steps?
    Question 2
    Why the last round in encryption and decryption has mix columns step missing?
    What's the logic behind the difference in these rounds from other rounds?
    Can you just brief on these?
