Thank you SO MUCH for not only explaining what you are doing but WHY you are doing it. Most videos don’t have this level of explanation and just leaves newbies confused. Well done!
Hey Glen. I really appreciate how you guided us through this in a calm and peaceful and pleasant manner, step by step. Even for those of us who are decent with hardware and IT, it can be hard to think straight and follow instructions when under stress and threat - which can be the reason why someone is bothering to get LiveGuard in a hurry, like myself. Your delivery throughout this video really helped me when it would have been easier for me to just curl up and bawl for a bit. Thank you so much.
Hi Glen, enjoying your videos - im an Installer in South Australia - Love the Liveguard but still think there is room for improvement. Most of my work is in rural / farming areas and talking with wholesalers is normally not productive. I noticed you enable the surveillance link in camera - i dont do that and all still works for the liveguard function - i always set cameras to 24/7 record and do not use basic motion detection at all - in fact HIK vision setup guide states to turn this off. Wondering what firmware version your cameras are - waiting for a reply from HIK Australia on sending me updated firmware - ive noticed the new stock im getting is newer then my firmware i have for upgrading older G2 cameras. Also you did not mention the target validility (setting only seen in camera menu) - i am still having big issues with dogs/cats/birds/roos/possums activating the intrusion - working on minimum sizes but the AI should be handling this - unfortunately in the rural setting there is a large depth of field - multiple zones helps but i try to use these as a minimum. Worst part about working for yourself is with other ideas and be able to talk about problems faced! OH last one is the dreaded spider webs - with all new installs i use 6month outdoor spray around the cameras - but when a web goes across the camera - can be just one strand and will always set off the intrusion. Anyways - enjoy your week ! Haydn
Do I need only Ds-7616NI-I2 (Ds-7608NI-I2) or some -K2 could work that way too? Can you help me with that please? No correct info on the internet, you are yhe only hope(
hey Glen when I click on the URL to get into the back of the camera it instantly takes me to the original Log-in page? When I log-in I get message user name or password incorrect?? Going around in circles driving me crazy:( any suggestions for a fix?
Installed this fw on my 16 port unit and it all works great but I'm getting random reboots?? I reset the nvr back to stock and it still happens, doesn't have this issue when I load back different fw. Any ideas why?
Hi Simon, I have contacted HIK about this previously - i have seen it happen twice in my installs and both times it settled after about 24 hours ... no more reboots - i sent full logs on both machines. I do beleive the liveguard firmware is buggy.
The version fw posted on this videos website is a older version and is different to the version he is showing in this video, my supplier gave me this version of the fw today and so far I've had zero random reboots. So just make sure you are using the exact fw that's show in this video if you are having random reboots
Hi Glen, thank you for your videos. I’m an installer based in South Africa. My client has a DS-7716NXI-I4 NVR with Acusense Cameras. I’ve upgraded the firmware to the newest version available, but not getting the features shown on HIK-CONNECT. Only getting the enable/disable notifications function when clicking on the icon and not a separate functions menu. Do you think that these features are only available for selected regions at the moment? If so, can I download and install the firmware from hikvision.au website? Or Does the cameras also need a specific firmware version installed in order to enable these features? Regards Monté Viljoen
Hey, I had the same problem with the notifications instead of the modes/areas feature. I got newer firmware for the cameras from my supplier via hikvision, but even then it wasn't enough - I had to upgrade the firmware which can be found not under the downloads > firmware section where you'd expect, but on the actual model product page. So the 7616 webpage for example, if you scroll most of the way down you can see regular firmware on the left and LiveGuard firmware on the right. Once I had that, the app recognized the feature and worked as expected with modes and areas. It looks like the same firmware as is shown here on the bottom left www.hikvision.com/au-en/solutions/solutions-by-function/Live-Guard/ and my current version is V4.51.007 build 220316

Hi, I was just wondering where I could find the firmware on your website - I have looked under support and cannot seem to find it?
I have the DS-7716NXI-I4 / 4S is it or will it be supported on it. I would think so as it is newer than the one you were Using
Gday Glen, is this all done through your NVR or a desktop computer?

I have been able to do it through my desktop PC but (as an amateur) I expect it can still be done via NVR as well.
