Connect an Arduino Uno to the usb port and then upload the blink sketch. We then modify the blink sketch to blink the led faster and slower.

Okay.. so I have the surface pro 6, which is giving me a headache. I'm having a hard time using the Arduino IDE software. Also I downloaded the Arduino 1.8.12. do you have any idea how I reset or change it? If I try to look for the right port or board, it doesn't show the right ones. program a Rexqulis Uno R3 & Elegoo Uno R3. A lady would appreciate any help. -_____-

Select arduino r3 for the board. A ch340 driver will probably need to be installed to see the boards. If its communicating ok then you can check with tools/get board info - it will return some info. I don't know if you can get a ch340 driver for a surface pro 6, they might be the same as normal win 10 drivers but I suspect they are not.

Going back a step, when you plug your arduino board into the usb port on your surface pro, does the surface pro recognise the arduino board and give you a com port?
Can you run windows device manager (type device manager into windows search) and check under Ports (com & lpt) to see if the com port is working ?
If you cant see the com port then the arduino ide software is not going to work.

Hello! I'm having issue with my arduino uno. It was working OK couple days ago. But now it has problem with uploading. When I try to upload, first it stuck at uploading, after a while it gives quite a long error message starts with
Problem uploading board,
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x2c
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding................etc. I tried almost all the tricks and instructions online such as reset button. None of them didn't work. I'm sure that my ports and other options for Arduino UNO are correct. When I connect my arduino to computer I hear the device insertion sound, also yellow(L) and green(ON) lights of the arduino board are on. I reinstalled software. And when I connect arduino it has installed the port automatically which means board and computers' connection is OK. Also when I connect my arduino board to motor driver, my stepper motor is working with the code which I uploaded previously. How can I fix it? Please tell me if there is other way.

+kuukeldei deidara Have you checked that you are using the correct com port ? Run Device manager, select Ports (COM & Lpt), look for Arduino Uno and check which com port is assigned. Then check the serial port selected in the Arduino IDE software, tools, com port.

yes, I checked all of them. It is ok. When I plugged arduino in port menu becomes active and also chooses correct port automatically. I tried to press reset button. didn't work. Also I tried to do autoformat. It's also not working

I would try and narrow down where the problem lies. So a basic check is to see if the rx tx lights flash during the upload; communications could be disrupted if you have something plugged into the rx (0) and tx(1) ports. You could remove the ic and bridge those two ports with a jumper and then using a terminal program you should get back what you send (type) to it. That will help you determine where to look next.
