She disappeared like Judy Winslow. 😳
IKR! She Disappeared Like Chuck Frum Happy Days!
😭😭😭
NO ..Judy Winslow's
character disappeared ..Claire didn't disappear ..Claire got replaced ..just like they replaced Aunt Viv on Fresh Prince .
True Dat!
@Bernard Sutton lol.😆
I loved the new Claire. Her personality was a great fit. The first one was great but they chose to leave based off of their morals. That’s understandable. It happens. I loved it
Clair was stupid as fuck😅😂
I Agree. The Original Claire was a little too Sassy for my liking. The 2nd Claire was more layed back, and funny to me. 🤷🏾♀️
@@2blessed2bstressed777 yeah exactly
Exactly, Jennifer was always smiling, she was goofy and she made the show even better tbh, the other girl would jus play her part as a stuck up teenager. I still love the episodes of jaz in them but Jennifer really did it better
By being dumb , horny and boy crazy lol?
I'm so happy her mother advocated for her and didn't just go with the flow of things.
❤❤❤
I remember seeing her in this movie where her mother got beat up by her boyfriend and was addicted to drugs I can't remember the name of the movie but it's great and she stars in it at least I think it was her
@@juanitamorgan5475 You’re talking about Holiday Heart? And no, that’s not her
I didn't take her off....they did...and we all know why...how am I suppose to know what they are writing for the next season - I would have never took her off for that...that would be silly...
@@claudiadillingham6698 wait, are you actually her mom???😲😲😲
All things work together for good. I’m glad her career turned out how she wanted it to & I also love Jennifer Freeman as Claire . I can’t see it any other way
Exactly
Can u say the only reason we can see Jennifer as Claire cuz she played her for the majority of the time?
Jennifer was trash
@@lmaoaims not really. Jennifer added something to the role. The original actress made Claire seem boring. I mean they are both hardly Award worthy actresses but you could tell the difference in their performances.
@@lmaoaims no she actually did a great job with the role , being the the popular pretty/clumsy/airhead stereotype. I stand by I can’t see it any other way 😁
I must admit, I was curious about what happened with the original Claire on 'My Wife and Kids' .. Thanks for this video, it did give some clarity on that situation.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Agreed 👍🏼
Same I’ve always wondered what happened to her
Same. I loved tht show after-school for me.
Bringing in Jennifer was a great decision in my opinion. She brought that character to life more than Jazz did. Jennifer played that goofy roll perfectly like when she would randomly fall down the stairs...cracks me up to this day.
Like a true Bozo. She should feel ashamed of that character
*Role.
@@jamdoesit6127 it’s acting you clown. Stfu
I think you’re mistaken, second Claire was better because they actually changed the character when they switched out the actresses - so it’s not exactly fair to say one actress brought more than the other when what was asked of them was different lol
The original Claire was smart, athletic and competitive with Jr. They completely changed her character to a ditzy clutz that focuses on her looks. Thats not a good thing. Original Claire couldve gotten somewhere but the show was dependant on keeping its characters dumb for comedic value
Looks like she changed her story..but you can obviously tell she was replaced because she didn't fit the image that they wanted to begin with!! People hate to admit that Colorism is real and hasn't gone away
Exactly. And in an effort to not be black balled or labeled hard to work with, she spun a new narrative.
@@chanceromance1 Yesssss...exactly!! Thank you❤
She couldn’t act though. The new Claire was better.
Kavania Wilson exactly lmfao
@@kavaniawilson860 Right..at playing an Airhead!! That takes a lot of Skill I'm sure
She & one of my daughters were in the same dance classes in Alvin Ailey years ago. Sweet young lady & her mom is amazing.
Aww small world!
I love to hear this.
She’s quite lovely! I’m glad that she chooses projects that display her gift and enhance her well being. I look forward to seeing more of her. ❤️
I have always wondered what happened to the original Claire, thank you RRG for the clarification. I'm glad Jazz is doing well.
Jazz grew up to be such a gorgeous girl! Happy she found her passion in life and was able to express herself and her faith in her work.
I like how the show even acknowledge the new Claire when Michael commented on what's different about her.
I’m glad her mother stepped in for the better even if the original Claire didn’t understand it at the time but it all worked out because Jennifer Freeman did amazingly as Claire . I think the role was perfect for her .
It’s nice to hear a positive story and that a child’s star career has a happy ending or continued on a happy note. What a beautiful and talented young woman!
Thank you for clearing this up. Glad she is doing well 😊
Thanks for watching!
It’s refreshing to hear, Jazz was able to move on within her career. She’s gorgeous, wish her the best!
Thanks for update, RRG!❤️
I love this! She stood by her morals and worked at her pace👏👏👏you don't see that often even with adults with all the pressures in this world. Amazing. And from little Stockton California 🥳love love love this one
I actually love this 😍 I love how her mom let her be her age , I feel like most Hollywood parents let their children do whatever for roles no matter how inappropriate it is 😮💨 she’s so beautiful 💖
The original Claire was not only beautiful but smart, funny, charismatic and so on. They made the 2nd Claire only care about her looks and dumb as a doorknob. I didn’t think it was funny
I completely agree.
I share the same sentiments 👏🏽!
Pissed me off
@@Ianisatool yeah she was funnier
But in the show's defense, First Claire looked NOTHING like her On screen Family. NOTHING alike. There is often that one cast Member that looks NOTHING like their own screen Family. Everybody Hates Chris, Tyler James Williams looks like he could be Tichina Arnold's Son. Imani Hakim looked like she could be Terry Crew's Daughter. Tequan Richmond looked NOTHING like his onscreen Family. In Smart Guy, Yvette, Floyd, and T.J looked like Family. Marcus looked NOTHING like his onscreen Family, although Fans have speculated that Marcus could look like his Mother who died before the show premiered. In Good Times, JJ looked like he could be James and Florida's Son, but Michael and Thelma didn't look anything like each other, nor JJ, Florida, or James.
I’m thankful Jazz is doing well and still acting
❤️❤️
she blossomed into a beautiful young woman ☺️
Sure did!
indeed
F
She was already cute. But now she looks divine❤️❤️😊😊
I see a pattern of hiring a bi racial actress, after a dark skin black actress has a hiccup or issue. Katt Williams called this out. They always let black women know, they can be replaced by a light skinned actress.
Fresh Prince....
@Javier Garcia This is not your lane sooooooooo why are you commenting?
It's weird that they would do that. If they're going to replace someone, at least let it be somebody with the same skin tone. Otherwise it doesn't make sense. They should have just created a different character instead of trying to pass off someone with a different racial makeup as that character. But I guess showbiz doesn't have to make sense lol.
My thoughts exactly
Would you say the same if a biracial actress was replaced with a darker one? How would u feel if u missed a oppurtunity just because your light skinned or dark? Colorism need to die on both sides. Everyone complaining should go write their own show and cast it how u want
She is definitely blessed and gifted! I'm really glad she's doing well after the switch it seems like she found so much more in her career🙏much love ❤⭐
I always wondered what had happened to that girl because a lot of times the dark skin person gets replaced for a light skin person in the dark skin person was more fitting for the role even though I did like both Claire’s
I'm glad you cleared this up! I think a lot assumed it was just due to colorism. Not that colorism doesn't happen bc it absolutely does.
Yeah not everything is about colorism but yeah lots of people do jump to that conclusion and like to assume that's the problem when switching or dealing with light and darkskin
yeah do you see one of the top comments? it said she got changed cause of colorism. Istg some people just love to assume
I love stories like this one! Peace and Blessings to this young lady.
…wait at 13, she couldNt play a 14 yo? And her tv friend was pregnant, not her? 😂 ….what? I find it difficult to believe. I can believe they wanted to go in a different direction and felt that she didn’t “fit” the image of the show
Right I was wondering if anyone commented on this, hell I'm thinking she was about to say 16 🤦🏽♀️😂
They wanted someone who looked physically older
Nah I remember this when it first happened
She was a horrible actress and her valley girl accent didn't match her at all
You find it difficult to believe because you didn't pay attention. They aged her up to 16 in season 2
I still remember when dark-skinned Claire beat up her brother's bullies.
Same..
When? what episode? sorry I don't know much about the first clair by i only ever saw the lightskin clair growing up when I was little even now i still do😊
I loved her part on Waiting to Exhale: "Mama, is freak a bad word..............if I can say weird, Why cant I say freak??" lmbo!
I thought I was the only one lol. That was one of my favorite parts. She was so young and her voice was so sweet and squeaky.
Fav part of that movie
🤣 right! Her little voice was so cute
I thought that was her. Thanks for confirming that.
Wait she was there on that movie hmmm🤔 interesting never knew that neer watched the movie just ever heard of I'm a teenager so I' still kind of young for that movie😊 but yeah never really seen it
RIGHT ON TIME RRG FAM! 💜 Happy Sunday yall! I always wondered what happened to the first Claire, it was like the Aunt Viv switch lol. I will say I did love Jennifer Freeman as Claire tho.

I'm glad that she had a good career after the show. I loved her in the office.
In which office? The one with Michael Scott?

I really liked that show, may have to order the dvd sets from Amazon,to watch it again.Always wondered what happened to her character, thanks for answering. What a journey Jazz has had, moved forward to other things after leaving the show. Then back on the grind on of success of television.Good video, learned a lot, thanks.
You know what the first Claire... I dont remember being clumsy or goofy either.
Her whole personality was different 😩
She was angry all the time, very temperamental. That was her personality. It sucked.
I’m glad that Jazz also got her career on track and being well rounded..
I actually preferred her portrayal of Claire more. She was not a ditz.
@@Ianisatool The second looked more like the mother
Facts. She brought sizzle to the show.
You can blame the writers for that.
Second is the best one
She couldn’t act in my opinion
A teen friend being pregnant is a silly reason to throw away an acting gig on a popular show. The reality is that teens do, in fact, get pregnant. I hope her mother didn't mistakenly turn into a diva stage-mom and ruin an opportunity for her daughter. If she was wise, she could have spun into a chance to bring awareness to the topic to promote change.
It all worked out in the end, so it doesn't matter now.
Sure the hell was
Love this mom. It takes courage to say no when it comes to money
She said she wasn't ready for it either... 🤷🏾♀️
Thats exactly what happened. Daughter just flat out lying trying to help her mom save face. I remember when they took her off and it was because of her mom. The first Jr. was recasted as well. The first Jr. was actually played by Damon's real life son but he wasn't taking the job seriously so Damon fired his own son.
Both young ladies was great ❤️
she blossomed into a beautiful young woman!glad she is doing better
I love and respect that the role they needed her to play she wasn't comfortable with. And stood her ground life makes all the difference when you have parents that advocate for you!
Leaving the show was the best thing for her and the show itself. Jennifer was amazing as Claire.
IKR
Hell no...First Claire was strong and not ditzy
@@EstherYu88 second one was better and funny
She's a strong woman and made the best choice for her. I applaud that. I also appreciate her decision to keep God relevant in her life because He is.
She's the one who made the Term, "Why come" Famous . Instead of How come. (Queen). She's a trend starter as well. Salute*
LOL, She was sooo cute. I didn't keep up with the series My Wife and Kids but when RRG mentioned that she played Bernadine's (Angela Bassett) little girl in Waiting to Exhale I automatically remembered her. She always had a lil' doll face and is still so pretty. 😁
Beautiful story I'm glad she continued to prevail and reach her dreams ❤✨💕
Given that Damon Wayans was an executive producer of the show, I've always doubted that the "Claire" switch had anything to do w/ colorism (it wasn't an "Aunt Viv" situation either, but more of a "Becky Connor" switch, like on Roseanne--having to do w/ the actress's personal life). To be fair, although skin tone can vary greatly within black families, the "new Claire" looked more like her "parents". I'm just glad the original actress went on to do what she loves & isn't bitter about her departure (because we've heard too much of that already).
I am surprised they cast the original Claire in the first place. She was much darker than her parents.
@@gaila.9852 I'm guessing during the selection process, casting went off of acting ability over "perceived parentage" (aka how much the actoress looked like the actors playing her parents). Since Damon Wayans was an executive producer, I believe he didn't have a "complexion bias" which seems to go on w/ most of the "new age" black shows (such as "Black-ish").
@@gaila.9852 I disagree with the colorism statement and since this show was typed as comedy, funny she was not. I was sooo happy she went upstairs.😂 She did not fit, overly acted her role and the boogie little girl attitude came through in the next role she played. I love this show even now but will not watch her episodes. Just an opinion no one will give.
I’ve always loved seeing my cousin on the big screen!!! She’s always been down to earth too, even when coming back home to Stockton. Keep putting God first cuzzo! He’s got more in store for you!! 🙏🏽🧡
I've definitely always wondered about this.
Hope you enjoyed the video!
Good for her and she has grown to be a beautiful young lady🙏🏾❤️
I’m happy she’s still thriving and being prosperous ✊🏾
I liked Jazz as Claire but I loved Jennifer as Claire. I’m glad it worked out the way it did and I’m glad she’s still working
Jazz Raycole is literally one if my favorite actresses. With all her talent I'm not surprised she continues to do well. I can't wait to see what the future holds.
Keep shining Jazz🥰!!
Thanks for watching!
Funny out of all of the kid's, we see her the most playing in tv shows and movies. Just show's like she said, leaving the show led her career to bigger things.
You must not watch tv enough
When these kids stars grow up, you barely recognize them. I’m sitting here like omg that was the little girl from Waiting To Exhale. Glad she’s still doing work 😍😍😍
I always thought they replaced her for a lighter version. So glad you covered her story.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for clearing that up 💯♥️
You are so welcome ❤️
I’m happy to know that it wasn’t a color thing. Happy you cleared this up for the culture
You shouldn't have assumed it was, that victim mentality

I am glad this was not clickbait. Thank you for giving us the truth.
Honestly I like both actresses as Claire ...but if I had to pick I would pick Jennifer Freeman ..because Jennifer made the character clumsy and ditsy that's what made it funny to me .😏
Agreed
She downgraded the character IMO. The first actress made her funny and intelligent. Playing a one-note ditz doesn't take much skill, almost anyone can do that.
@@hello-dannie why are u blaming the actress for the "downgrade"? She read from a script 😂
@@hello-dannie facts. Did the character no justice.
I know it's not as big or as memorable of a show as My Wife and Kids, but after rewatching it on Prime recently I noticed they did a similar switcheroo on the show Meet the Browns for the character Brianna, in the first season she's played by a slightly darker skinned curvier young actress and then was replaced by Logan Browning for the rest of the series, with no reason given as to why anywhere. Maybe y'all can make a video on that one day
She wasn’t dark skinned or slightly
@@bgcrp2005 Yeah you're right her and Logan are the same complexion lol. I just looked her up, it was not a an issue of colorizm if anything MAYBE featurism. For anyone curious her name is Brianne Gould and she was just as light as Logan. Just had an unambiguous black woman's features.
She wasn't dark-skinned actually, or even a medium shade of brown she was on the lighter side just like Logan. If you google her you'll see.
Nah sis the original girl wasn’t dark but she is NOT as light as Logan in my opinion. Two different shades
Logan Browing was so funny on that show. Her and Nurse Renne were a riot. Thus no lost here.
Jazz is beautiful...
Loved the fact that she was true to herself
I glad she kept close to God
Wow what a way to use all your talents! She left acting and toured with Alvin Ailey dance company before returning to her dream acting roles. Amazing! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Ok why not cast a 16 year old dark skinned girl ??? 🤷🏽♀️
Because it wasn't about her skin tone in the first place. Gosh!
Cuz dats what they always do
@@kerishnefebruary8108 Exactly
It wasnt about her skin tone & either way both women are black women ! Just different skin complexions .
@@BrianaThaGamer not really pretty sure one is mixed an I think we both know which one an is kinda was it's like a trend for show to do that back den
I still say, because of the background of most of the Wayan's, colorism, had something to do with the drastic change of Claire's character.
Gotta love moms who stand up for what they believe in!
Wow blessed on a Sunday thank you
You are so welcome ❤️
The Quad was one movie they should have never cancelled... I was all in....Smh... That was a really good show
Did anyone else notice the original claire was confident smart and a little sassy and the new claire was just cute and dumb?
Both ladies did an amazing job. I love the show
BET The Quad was fire 🔥 she was on the show for 2 seasons before the show was cancelled I’m surprised it was skipped over
@Frederick Wells BET was gentrified like what happened to UPN back in the day. The network needed revamping they brought on teams of black writer producers , etc. created black geared shows and once the shows brought in audience and views , the black teams were let go and BET which is Viacom corporate ran replaced them with a clear team , the clear team then “decides to go in a different direction”
@@honeylamour1 That’s why I keep telling blk folks we got to own our image. I keep getting at least we getting parts. SMH. Like yeah but they can kick the black creators and on screen talent anytime they want.
"I worshipped my way into this role 🙌🏾🙌🏾" my God that's #POWERFUL
I always wondered what happened to her. But I never thought it was because of colorism. If that was the case she would have never been hired in the first place.
Proud of her for not remaining 'stuck' for a check.
Unpopular Opinion: i loved Jazz's portrayal of Claire more.
Her character had her own identity and wasnt a ditz. The second Claire was too similar to Jr.
SAME! Bcuz with the new one and junior it was like 2 slow kids and no balance..
@@bornwithclass2365 Exactly!!!!
lmao .
People keep talking about how the first or original clair wasn't ditz or whatever what does that even mean?😊
But that’s why it worked. Jennifer seemed more likely a believable member of the family and all credit goes to whoever decided to make the switch.
I remember the switch. My brother told me, "Oh yeah, they kicked the other one out because she was rude and did not want to follow directions". I don't know how he came up with that conclusion.
If we keeping it 💯 when we watch that first season she just didn't have the best comedic timing.. it didn't gel well... when Jennifer took over she just gelled alot better... sometimes it's colorism but this time it just boiled down to comedic chemistry... the chemistry wasn't there with her... I'm glad she's doing well.... Thanks for the update RRG...
Right, to each it's own, but I don't think the original was a good actress. I'm glad she's doing well in life though.
I like to imagine maybe she was a foster child who found another home 🤔
Sooooo true! Everything isn’t always colorism. Jennifer was definitely a better fit. She was my favorite, her character & friends went through things we really saw/went through growing up. I’m glad they made the switch so Jazz’s religion didn’t get in the way of really playing the part.
The first claire portrayed as always angry with an attitude while Jennifer freeman play as ditzy and clumsy. Same character played by 2 actresses with different personalities
I agree
People are saying colorism. However she looked like she was adopted the new Claire fitted better. The Son fits the father so it was more believable.
I just mentioned zelda harris during a camille winbush video. I forgot all about Ms. Jazz Raycole. Good on her parents!
What I like is how she stood firm in her Christian beliefs!! Glad she doin amazing 👏🙌
But there's nothing wrong if the producers want a specific look for a character. The only problem here is why did they give her the role in the first place if they wanted a lighter young person for the role.
Stop making it about skin
@@simplypaul8681 it is about skin. They had no reason to replace her and you know that. What was the reason for her being replace?
The intervention of Jazz's mother having her daughter exit from the sitcom provides a reasonable explanation.
The answer as to "what happened to the original Claire" starts at 3:05
I remember when Michael Kyle said what happened to you loll. I always thought that was soooo quirky and kinda gave light to the fact that it’s just a show like all sitcoms do on they one episode
I like Jennifer freeman
Don't forget, they did it to Megan Good's character on the show as well. Replaced her with another Biracial girl, that is NOOO accident. Definitely colorism.
I love Jazz characters on my wife and kid.. anyways I love she took charge of her life and did what felt right for her the time.
Her being in the office always cackled me. She was flirting harddddd with that white man and her dad Stanley was MAD 😂😂😂
She also played the dean’s daughter on BET’s “The Quad”. Really good show , I hate that it got canceled.
I agree about The Quad. It was a good show.
She sure did , I knew it was something I saw her on and you answered it . Lol
Very nice story. She is very pretty and positive
Thanks for watching!
She’s beautiful! 😻…
Nice to know what really happened though
Jennifer was amazing as Claire
I was low key happy They switched her and never thought about was about her complexion everything is not about skin color They clearly wanted someone older and jas was to young and needed more practice because she became a lot better over the years far as acting
I enjoyed this update. Even more so glad she was able to move on and continue to build her career.
I understand that shows go in a different direction sometimes as far as the story line and no shade to Jennifer freeman, but why couldn’t they hire another dark skinned actress that looked similar to jazz? It’s so dumb how they think no one would care after a while or notice , it’s the same thing they did to aunt viv on fresh prince smh these Hollywood people.
I liked the second Claire more. But, I liked the first aunt Viv more.
it's about the acting and what the actor brings to it. not the shade. the best one for the role gets the role.
Honestly it messed up the story to me like what’s the point of making dark skin Clair intelligent and respectful and then making the light skin clair more of a party girl type it just messes up the whole character concept to me and it’s the same thing with viv dark skin viv was smart and held her ground while being respectful at the same time but the light skin viv barely contributed to the show in any way.
@@marie-francoiset9402 they could have auditioned girls with a similar shade to jazz that had the talent to take her place in the role, I mean come on they can do whatever they want.
That's why I don't buy their argument that "colorism had nothing to do with the role switch," they could've easily replaced her character with an older darker-skinned actress. I stopped watching the show after the first season because I felt offended as someone with darker skin.
My sister and I looove watching this show together. Jennifer fit in perfectly 👌🏾
