We miss you DB, hope everything is okay. Thank you for all the things you taught us. I have all the cameras and lenses you recommended and am very happy.
The A7IV is the best video camera I have used. Finally have a Sony camera with good image stabilization! Of course the A7IV has a steep price and the A7C is no slouch for much less money. If the A7C had active image stabilization that would have put it over the top for what it offers.
Definitely gonna be getting the A7IV as soon as my savings hit $3000 (camera + kit lens + SD Card + Extra Battery) Done vlogging with my iPhone. It’s been a fun 300 vlogs I definitely want something better now 🙂
Strong plan Kevin - and that's gonna be a BIG upgrade haha - I'm excited for you:) Consider subbing if you like the content, have an awesome weekend and keep up the good savings work!
Hey you!! I still love my 3 zv1 cameras and you had/have me quite interested in the zv-e10 for just studio work (because of the rolling shutter.) But so why do i feel this strange attraction to the fx3? And i know that most people use a A7S3 on YT... but there is something about thr fx3 that intrigues me... and it isn't audio related. I also like the idea of the a7IV... but would the fx3 be better? Cooler? Love your vids, keep em coming. And i really dig your latest studio angle/look. Cya! 😀
DU, awesome to hear from you my friend:) Firstly, for studio work the zv-e10 is a strong option - you get all the strengths and mitigate pretty much all the weaknesses so it's definitely worth considering. As for the FX3 - it's a beast camera and I think superior to rhe a7iv for video work - but obviosuly at a fairly significant price bump. I'd go FX3 if money were no constraint, but that's no dig at the very capable a7iv which I think is an equally strong option when price is factored in. Hope you're doing well, appreciate the nice feedback and wishing you a great weekend!
Thanks Faisal, much appreciated:) No overheating at all so far. I always set the overheat shut off setting to high and ensure the screen is flipped out for long continuous filming and that always seems to do the trick for me:) Hope you're doing well and have a great weekend!
I have been using the A7C for over a year now and have been thinking about the upgrade to the A7IV. Is the 10 bit color footage harder to edit compared to 8? Does it require a more powerful computer to edit? Thank you for the video! This is exactly what I've been looking for :D
Hey Jill, great to hear from you:) I don't think 10 bit will drive a huge need for more computing power, but it would make a bit of incremental difference. The same goes for some of the higher quality compressed codecs and extra codecs the a7iv offers. If you're concerned then the best I can recommend is doing a bit more specific research - I'm running one of the new M1 MAX Macbook Pros and it blast through everything so it's hard to tell if 8 v 10 bit would make much difference on a less overpowered machine! Hope you're doing well and have a great weekend:)
@@dbvares8745 Lucky! That M1 chip sounds so nice! I have a Dell I got a little over a year ago that has decent specs so it sounds like it might not be too bad on my computer. It's getting harder and harder to not purchase the A7IV! I hope you had a great weekend!!
I am a beginner in photography and I am looking for a mirrorless camera solely for photography. Can you tell me which camera, Sony ZV E10 or Canon M50 Mark ii, is better for photography including low light performance? Or are both cameras equally good when it comes to photography?
Hey, bro! I saw your viral video titled (Sony ZV-E10 vs A6400: Detailed Comparison. Best for Vlogs, Cinematic & YT content?) which has (37K) views. I liked this video a lot, after that I watched a lot of your videos and I think your video is addictive. But today while I was browsing your RUclips channel a couple of exciting ideas came to mind which can help you to go viral and that I wanna discuss with you:💙
Hey Rusins, you're right - the reason was I was focussing on the big differences I've noticed and frankly the AF on both is so good I can't remember it ever not working seamlessly. The only situation I got some divergence was low light, so as you rightly note, that's covered in the low light vid:) If I spot any other situations that cause differences I'll talk about them but both cameras work almost like magic at this point haha:)
@@dbvares8745 it’s currently way more than I need, but I just loved the idea of never worrying about rolling shutter & being able to change frame rate without having to take 10 steps back! So far love having it to learn with.
Hey DC, super subjective one so your mileage may vary but I'd go for either the default one or one of the Cine profiles (I think 4 or 5) if you want no grading at all. Prior to the a7iv I always used HLG (profile 10) which needs mapping to standard dynamic range but then looks great for my taste, and that mapping takes like 10 seconds so effort is minimal. How I work with HLG is set out here in case useful: ruclips.net/video/88lUbO7hOA4/видео.html What are your thoughts? :)
@@dbvares8745 I’m just a simpleton… I guess I should just be happy with the standard since Sony has made it better looking than their past efforts with recent cameras. Canon is still king of color science.
The IBIS on the a7C is garbage… but I been coping with this limitation with using Warp Stabizer in Premiere, and recently got the Crane M3 gimbal as more robust solution. I’m hesitant to upgrade from the c to the IV, to me a true upgrade would be the FX3, with similar style body and the power of the SIII.
Hey Adrian, thanks for sharing the useful insights. Definitely agree the FX3 is a significant step up - at least if it's primarily for video work. For me the a7iv was a price I was more able to justify right now otherwise FX3 / a7s£ would probably be preferable. Good stuff tip on warp stabiliser - i've found a mix of IBIS, final cut stabilisation and catalyst have been fine but it would be nice if the raw results were stronger! Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a weekend:)
Hey Emptrix, it's a very fair point. I think Sony want to avoid cannibalising a big selling point of the a7s3 (and other higher priced options) but it's still a disappointing omission. I think uncropped 4k60 would have been a nice middle ground of price and feature, but in fairness the price jump from a7iv to a7s3 is much bigger than a7c to a7iv so it's all a balancing act haha! There is no perfect option - only the right tradeoffs at the right price for a given use case - at least in my mind:) Thanks for watching, consider subbing fi you enjoyed and have a great weekend!
Hate to see you gave up on RUclips. That less than 10K subscriber base with all that effort is a tough spot to find yourself. Nevertheless, I hope you're finding satisfaction in whatever path you've chose. Take care.
when I saw everyone review about a7c for the first saw I saw its good because its compact and fast auto focus but when to campare with the Sony a7iii when I look closely to the a7c video quality it's just not fell really well for cinematic look. Idk it's just my opinion or someone fell the same too
Hey Don, thanks for sharing the thoughts. I don’t have an a7iii to make a direct comparison and be sure, but those two share the same identical sensor so should produce essentially identical footage of all else is equal. I wonder if there was any difference in settings in your observation 🤔 Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great day 👍
Hi DB! I have a youtube channel (in Portuguese -Brazil) called @gilcarvalho and it's about camera and microphones. So, I intend to make some videos about lenses for Sony ZV E10. However, I don't own some lenses like the Sigma 16mm, Sony 16-50mm and Sony 18-105mm. So I would like your permission to put some b-roll footage from your channel over these lenses, especially the clips you are testing them on. These will be short clips - 3 seconds approximately. Can I count on your authorization? I'll credit the images in the description, of course. I will be waiting for your reply. Thank you very much

Nice to be in the right place at the right time for once haha:)
I absolutely love your videos. Can you do a video on your video shooting process and grading?

I bit the bullet and returned the A74 for an A7S3, keeping my A7C as a photo & stream cam :) A7S3 for everything else.

The A7 IV lacks 4K 120p recording which IMO prevents it from truly standing out and justifying the extra $600-1000 cost when compared to the A7C.
