i think overall, (i did not checked the price before the test) and for the price it is a cool blade, much better than the K Tact Kukri from Condor!!! cheers my friends!!!

Not all kukri's are made equal. This was not properly hammer forged and the heat treatment was poor. It was too brittle for spring steel.
@kengaroo5170 precisely why I would like to see other manufacturers get put to the test.
I'm even more curious about one or two places that switched from the traditional Kukri tempering methods and are now oil quenching their blades instead.

I could imagine the blade breaking at the narrow waist, but even a toughness forged blade can break at the HOT POINT. It was a good learning experience. Well done, JOE! SUGOI!

Tora Blades makes the best kukri. I've tried all the others and gave them away to friends and family, but my Tora Blades I keep and use all the time. Very good quality control, and a lot of there designs are historically accurate.

Did pretty good for a "tourist kukri". 5160 is a spring steel and wouldnt be surprised if that was forged out of an old leafspring off some beater truck!

Your videos are crazy but in a positive sense. The Kukri wasn't bad at all when you compare it to all the other expensive knives. I was very surprised at how well the car turned out. I was also surprised with the Brick, unfortunately rather negatively, I thought it would last longer but overall a solid performance, not bad but not sensational either. Have a nice day.

Boy... I live in a timeline where a CS knife/machete thing (Black Bear Bowie), that I was hyped for, disappoints; but a shoddy "khukuri house", who I had no hopes for, actually surpassed my expectations. Crazy world. It was a nice test btw, good video, Joe.

Here's some knowledge. When you break safety glass you hit it towards the edge/corner. Blows out first hit almost every time.

Chopping that tree made my day. Reminded me of my hatchet in the boy scouts trying to cut a tree. Not easy, but you made me laugh. My 2 Kailash Khukuri would never stand up that long. Much lighter, thinner and sharper. That one took a beating, but look how thick and heavy it was. My Grandpa would tell me about hunting in the mountains of Austria long ago. Beautiful country.

This Kukri overall did not look like a very good blade (as in so-so) and exhibited quite a few issues in layout, handle, and blade shape. Sad it was broken 2x relatively easy on spine whacks! Nice of the guy to lend a hand to the JoeX destruction testing. You really nailed it with AUG in .556!!!

I hear kukris are a market fraught with scams barely made to display on a wall. This seemed like an ok one.
The hype makes me wonder though, because this sure wasn't what the kukri lovers boast of. I can't help but think that a CS machete-like durability should be in the realm of possible and lend the hype some credit. A lot can be done with a 8-9mm of spine and a tough steel.
I guess more knives will have to break.

i resarched on KHHI and they offer a custom knife with sheath for small money incl transport. BUT----------- i have seen vids where the knifes performed really like hell ( the Viking put force on the tip that it blows me away and i was ready to order a knife fron KHHI) BUT other ytubers showed the opposite. A big bowie knife that bended completely (a 6mm blade bended nearly 70 dergrees) or tips of other ytubers bended like butter. After adressing KHHI about another vid, they responded me at one point that they are able to sharpen their knifes with a standard file and its common for their knifes and that was enough information for me to doubt their heat threatment (because the heat threatment is one of the most important factors on a knife, beside the geometrie and steel choice). i also wrote to the Viking and confronted him, that only choosen ytubers like viking himself or Donnie B (they have been connected) got good knifes (special attention on heat threatment), and after that Viking deleted his vids------its funny. All in all, the whole thing is to strange and i can only give a warning to all knife lovers. Be careful,its tempting, because for a custom knife (21cm blade) with kydex sheath and transport you not even pay 200 Euro (i ordered a custom from KHHI Nepal to Germany but after my research i cancelled). Support your local knife makers. As i said, its tempting and maybe you are lucky to get a good heat threatment but if not........bad luck. And they claim to make every custom by hand but i saw a vid where KHHI uses CNC and i dont lke to be fooled as a customer.
thats my personal opinion about KHHI and feel free to choose them.

They're made from used truck springs. They've been used hundreds or even a million kms. I suspect all these springs have micro cracks in them.

I always wondered about how strong and well designed these KHHI and other Nepal brands of Kukri blades are. Thanks Joe X for resolving this mystery without paying $100's dollars finding out the hard way. I think I will pass.

Kukris have a reputation for chopping ability but don't do well in my hand. Didn't seem to be great in yours either. My big bowies work better for me & I'm about to try the Terava 240 after your test. Good review as always.
