He won by the minimum 2 games. Far from humiliation and Hikaru was not at his best today. Alireza is more than capable of beating anyone in the world on a good day, this isn’t crazy at all. Hikaru does bullet brawl each week and that’s it, dude doesn’t even care about bullet anymore, he’s #2 in the world in classic and blitz OTB

(The match started 17 mins late according to Hikaru and Alireza's match against Sevian finished at least 10 mins late due to technical issues and overtime. So he barely got a few minutes anyway. Grown men having a strop over someone taking 5-10 mins for a breather and bathroom break in between matches - but Alireza's somehow the diva here instead of you guys? Lmao

There need to be stricter rules about player who stop playing in the middle of a match like hikaru did at 2:57:00.
There is also a need for a rule when player disconnect because they way it's been treated, a player in a bad position can simply disable/stop his connection and claim disconnecting issues.
How is it fair that when Alireza has a Streak Hikaru can just take a 15min break? like wtf happend there.
I dont know the full story but i read in another comment that alireza showed late by 20 mins so maybe that’s why
After Alireza matches against sevian and Daniel, he says it started during the sevian, Alireza said he just felt tired and was "seeing things(tactics where they probably aren't)". In the interview he said he thought about just resigning to Daniel before their match started. After the hour+ of bullet Alireza told the organizers he would withdraw if he couldn't get a break. They gave him 20~ mins. Hikaru called him a little b word and after being down many points had a break down and probably told the organizers if he didn't get a break he'd withdraw.

@@arcy3772 Hikaru said this in his kick stream - Alireza delayed our grand final match by saying he was exhausted and he won't be able to play. The match started after 17 minutes from the scheduled time. Alireza started playing well in our match and showed no sign of exhaustion. This is what I did not like about Alireza, why does he always come up with these kinds of shinanigans.
He repeated this continuously so we are safe to assume this was the main issue other than losing to Alireza continuously.

I was against the cancellation of the game won by Sevian. I did not like the antics / angle shooting by Firouzja after that match. In retrospect, I did not know what to make of the Christmas time special tournament made for Firouzja to increase his rating so he could participate in the Candidate, but now I know it is character related. I did not finish the Kramnik Martinez game after the similar behavior of Kramnik nor did I finish this one. The state of chess is sadly becoming repulsive to me.
