    Excellent Video! I used your video to SLOWLY take the 8gb of ram out of one Acer E-11 w/Windows 8 and used it to replace the 2gb of ram in another Acer E-11 w/Windows 10. Basically, switching ram from one laptop to another. As with any job, if you have ALL THE NECESSARY TOOLS it shouldn't be overly difficult. I had some latex gloves, magnetic philips-head screwdriver, dishes for the screws, small plastic dish scraper (which I used to get into the casing), and a couple small flat-head screwdrivers to help disconnect the wiring harnesses. I moved EXTREMELY SLOW. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to get into both laptops, disassemble, replaces ram, and put back together. EVERYTHING WORKED GREAT! Slow & Steady wins the race! Thanks for the video!

    Thank you so so much for this video. I accidentally spilled some sweet tea on my laptop, and this video really helped my to carefully disassemble it and clean the motherboard. Never ever have I disassembled a laptop or any electronic device, and you made the instructions very clear and helped me A LOT.

    I just upgraded the RAM in my E3-112 from 2GB to 4GB (thanks for this great video - helped a lot).
    I went to the Kingston site and there is a very cool tool to determine which RAM fits.
    I am using the VERY fast HYPERX HX316LS9IB/4. It really does seem to make my whole netbook ZOOOOM :-)

    I just wanted to expand the hdd from the 32GB ssd, so plugged in a micro sd adapter (Bosvision low profile) and 128GB of microsdxc. This does not stick out of the side of the pc like a standard sd disc does, so I leave it in permanently. I reformatted this as NTFS, and use it as the main storage drive, to keep all my office programs, Google drive etc. The SSD 32Gb drive is way to small on its own, but with this modification (£50 approx), it works really well for all my requirements, and I have not voided the warranty by taking it apart.

    • @marklasvegas6816
      @marklasvegas6816 8 лет назад

      +Malcolm Mathew The only Bosvision low pro I could find is either for the raspberry are the Macbook Pro Retina. which one do you suggest for my Aspire E-11? Also, I'm wondering if this memory would work: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G5SSDIW/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3JJ6E432635IP

    • @happymalc
      @happymalc 8 лет назад

      Hi Mark, I used the Bosvision Low Profile MicroSD adapter for Raspberry Pi, with a 128GB microsdxc card from SanDisk, both are on Amazon.com (I purchased them from Amazon UK, but they are on the US site also). The memory you have is RAMM, I don't know if it would fit or not. My laptop is new, and under warranty, so I did not want to violate this, which is the case when you take a screwdriver and add RAMM. The Bosvision just slips into the SD slot, and can be removed (with tweezers!). Good wishes from England.
      Malcolm

    thx for the video, i finally upgrade my "acer aspire E11 es1-111-C1ZM",
    the speaker cable was really hard to remove
    2GB => 8GB
    HDD 320Go => SSD 120Go
    Linux lubuntu 18.04 (32 bits) => Linux lubuntu 20.04 (64 bits)
    all work fine, speaker, touchpad, keyboard, wifi, screen ofcourse lol
    it's boot faster, but i think i should switch to another light linux distribution
    thx, this was very helpfull
    i will watch "those kiind of video" before buying a laptop now

    For those who don't want to go through the hassle of re installing Windows if you put a bigger HD in (If you happen to have bought the version with only a 32GB SSD and most of that is used up by Windows). Just buy a fast decent size SD card and pop it in the slot on the left hand side.. Or buy a decent size micro USB pendrive and pop it in the blue USB3 port.. Does the job perfectly.

    I have just upgraded a Acer Aspire ES1-111M V3-112P Motherboard Celeron N2840 32GB eMMC NB.MRS11.001 with the sata connector and the 9 chips that are next to it (top and bottom of the board) of a Acer Aspire E3-112 DA0ZHKMB6C0 Model ZHK. My hobby is micro soldering, if anyone tries to attempt it without the right tools Will fail. After the transfer of the sata connector and chips desolder the eMMC chip because it will conflict with the ssd drive. I installed a 240 ssd and loaded windows 10 with UEFI. Works a treat

    I bought two of this model a few months back, and it's a massive disappointment. Even with all the bloatware removed, it's very sluggish. With the bloatware (stock condition), it's practically unusable. 2GB is completely insufficient for this model, and an upgrade is almost mandatory. So why did Acer make it *so* difficult to upgrade the RAM? Having to flip over the mainboard just to get to the RAM sounds ridiculous.
    But thanks for the great video - without it, I wouldn't even be considering an upgrade! :)

    E3-112-C36L (it's sold on French market) works perfectly with 8GB kingston M1G64KL110 which is a PC3-1280 (1600Mhz). According to Intel page on N2840 this shouldn't work, for N2860 supports ram up to 1333 Mhz. But it definitely works without any problem.

    Thanks very much for posting this! I was looking at this little notebook PC thinking to buy it (actually the ES11 but I guess it will be very similar except with eMMC not 2.5" HD). It looks as though the 2032 BIOS battery is soldered or spot welded to the board? What with all the little thin ribbon cables and the construction of the thing, it looks as though it is intended to be a disposable unit which I really don't like.
