Alcohol = you need at least 60 days to detox your body and mind.
Porn = Just 2 weeks.(also delete instagram, too many hot chicks there, instagram is pretty much a porn gateway now) Also with porn if you relapse its okay just keep resetting, but with alcohol, try to keep up the streak because when you fall, the second attempt is so much harder. It could be the other way for other people but im just sharing my experience. Accidently started porn at 10, drinking at 17. Im now 32 and for the first time in my adult life I feel literally happy for the little things in life, no more depression & anxiety, no brain fog, no binge eating, better sleep, no more emotional outbursts & anger issues, and the law of attraction actually manifests inside you compared to just knowing the theory. One last thing, if you are an empath or a sensitive person, cut out all the negative, narcissistic people out of your life because they may be the cause for stress that makes you seek another dopamine hit through alcohol or porn.

I wasn't much of a drinker, so quitting alcohol was easy. I struggled to stop watching porn, but one day I just said I was done because I wasn't the kind of man who watches that kind of garbage anymore, so I stopped. It's so liberating, I haven't felt this good in years. My only "vice" now is weed, which I feel is good for me, it helps me in many ways.

I'd say a thing that really helps is keeping yourself busy and spending time with people you love, but you also gotta fortify your mind and specifically your willpower in order to resist it in the moment where it's easiest to fall into it. Putting up religious imagery around your living space can help too. One of the best methods for just defeating any addiction, is saying "No" out loud as soon as you get that first impulse to indulge in whatever addiction so that you stop it at the beginning of the dopamine cycle where it's the smallest before it gradually grows more and more until you end up doing the very thing you hate.
A guy named Hamza has a really good old video about willpower which is like an hour long, another fellow named Kaal Raam has a great video detailing addiction and how to defeat it which I'd recommend.
I recommend reading "your brain on porn" or even "atomic habits" and implementing the elements stated in those books into your life.

Hi buak809. The fact that you can acknowledge to yourself where you feel you are at present is a huge step forward. Someone much wiser than me once said that having ones total focus on the past can cause depression and total focus on the future can cause anxiety and acknowledgement of where one is in the present moment is the only true reality.
I have a challenge for you set one small attainable goal to be achieved by a specific time in the next few days, that will move you a few millimeters towards what you want. Be it plan a time to look up groups or activities in your area or make a point of going out for a coffee and saying hello to someone that you would like to get to know. The aim is to move from the position you are in to an alternative position and again to move from there. You got this buddy, life does move forward whether we want it to or not. I sincerely hope this helps and I unreservedly apologize if I have overstepped the mark. I found a guy on RUclips recently, newelofknowledge and find him really really good on self development topics. He might be worth a look for you too. Best wishes to you ⭐

I don't think porn is the problem, but just a coping mechanism or distraction. I think its a fun thing you can do, but like anything in life, in excess and not balanced it can consume you. I don't believe in being sober all the time, to me that's a waste of what joys life can bring. When I'm watching too much porn something else is going on in my life, either with my career, choices, or lack of choices/apathy. I'm putting something else off or trying to avoid thinking about how much I've screwed up, but the thing is that's ok to think about that. A problem cannot be solved if it can't be identified first, and I think many others keep "relapsing" with porn because it wasn't really the issue, its just a coping mechanism. The REAL issue is whatever thing you're trying to avoid thinking about or doing while using porn. Its not porn who messed up your life, but YOU and your choices. Its fine btw we have all been there, but I think its important people realize that and acknowledge it in order to fix whatever it is.
You wanna say I'm coping or deluded or making excuses go ahead. Problem isn't porn, or weed, or alcohol, or some external thing you can throw the blame on, the problem was you.
I've been watching porn through many of my greatest accomplishments in life, never felt drained unless it was a really bad day and I did it 4x times. Keep blaming external things instead of yourself, you are only hurting yourself.

I think I know what your problem is. Often we are triggered into watching prawn by internal and external cues. Random images of scantily clad women on our social media feed is one such cue(External) . Stress is an internal response to an external stimuli. In your case ,exams , their thoughts or the preparation process alone can be stressful. And guess what? stress is an excellent trigger to watch prawn cuz prawn can soothe and calm you and you may have noticed this until someone (me) pointed this out to you. I know this, cuz it has happened to me.
My triggers are images on screen, mental stress, physical tiredness due to heavy activity, boredom, sounds such as someone showering (I kid you not), having a heavy meal, taking my phone to the twoilet etc.
These are some common triggers for many people including myself.
See if you've any common one's or try to identify what triggers you watch it.
Solution is to avoid exposure to such triggering stimuli.
Triggers can come through all senses(touch, sight ,smell ,sound , mind you.
When you get the urge, identify what triggered you and say to yourself loudly "I only want to watch it cuz I got triggered by ____"
Do this as quickly as possible after you get the urge , as it doesn't take much time( around 3 seconds )to give into the urge.

Yes, I also have a goal in my life - I want to start studying coding and start my career as a programmer. And when I am playing video games, I wasn't enjoying myself because I know myself that I am doing this by ignoring my responsibilities. So, all I ended up was just with a depression. Thanks for the video. You helped me coping with my problem. ❤

When it comes to programming I’d highly suggest Python or Lua as a stepping stone, you could then go to a site such as exercism where you can solve problems to further build your skills. (it’s free) Perhaps even build simple games using their relative frameworks, eventually moving to a more performant language if need be, it’s never too late to learn and develop a new skillset. For anyone out there struggling, just know that you are strong enough. You can break free and put control of your life into your own hands no matter what you are addicted to. Find your reason, put it above all, and tell yourself every day that it is worth fighting and whatever has invaded your life does not control you. Good luck, all.

ED at 15? Wow... For me the symptoms didn't start until I was 24. From 29 year old onwards I was totally unable to ever get it up with a woman.... After I had already tried everything I was finally cured 7 years later at the age of 36 when I found out about the noble practice of semen retention. So I did 4 months of semen retention and total abstinence from watching porn and lo and behold my ED was cured. Got married the same year and not even once has there be a failed intercourse since then. This testimony is true and I just wish that whosoever suffereth from ED would give SR a try because it's guaranteed to work...

Reading the comments im getting an impression that people here literally fapped every day or two non stop and im not talking about 20-30 min fap but for hours. Most people during sex only needs like 5-20 mins to orgasm and thats it. Doing it for hours, of couse that is going to harm your junk, unless youre poking a woman. Most guys will tire out before their junk fails them anyway. Do people not know moderation. Even all things good in excess can be harmful. You can indulge in porn just not every goddamn day. Once a week sounds about right no? Keep the pipes running and not get some testicular cancer or something. Full on abstinence for months/years is just asking for trouble. Or dont even watch porn. Just fap by yourself from mental imagery or not even that.

I used to laugh at the idea of being a porn addict and the whole no-fap movement considering I've struggled with drug addiction and porn just seemed to pale in comparison. I realize now that that's kind of the most dangerous thing about porn. It seems so benign and masturbation we've been told is natural and healthy. That's the thing though, the abuse of the two is an insidious and slow poison. I never wanted to accept that it's bad and still want to believe a healthy balance can be achieved, but for me personally I think I just need to take a good looooooong break. It's got my brain all fucked up.

The fact that you also became addicted to junkfood and world of warcraft and aimed to avoid human interaction shows that it's not just the porn that is the problem but that there's deeper underlying psychological issues that cause you (and a lot of others) to become addicted to those things in first place.
Picking one thing (porn in this case) and using it as a scapegoat for everything that went wrong in your life is a very bad approach to be honest.

@@XterNuLL I doubt it. It's the same thing as with drug addicts. In the vast majority of cases the drug itself wasn't the cause but there was other causes that led to people 1. even getting into contact with drugs and 2. starting to abuse them to escape life.
What you want to find out is why you want to distract yourself from your life. THAT is the cause for you even becoming addicted in first place.

Not really comparable lol..porn seeps in at a young age because of no access to real partners, curiosity, and how the dopamine system works, so when it becomes a habit, it turns into an addiction. As a kid I always knew drugs were dangerous..nothing would ever make try heroin crack or meth, but I was using porn regularly cause I thought it was normal. If I was educated on how porn worked when I was 12 I would have never fucking abused it.

When I was in the Army, I was into porn and it unchained me from giving women the halo effect when they were doing this or that socially.
I was more anxious and apprehensive and standoffish in regards to relationships and questioned guys girls when they were doing this or that. One guy said I acted like a virgin and another said I was weak.
After I ets'ed from the Army the guy who said I was weak became a cop and found his wife cheating on him and blew his head off. The guy who said I complained like a virgin was tipped off by his mother in law that his wife/her daughter was cheating at that moment.
He raced back home and caught her in the act but fucked up and didn't record it. When going through court process for divorce his mother in law refused to testify against her daughter "because that's her daughter". He'll be paying child support to her and will never see his daughter again afyer she cheated on him and took his house.
So the guy who said I was weak killed himself and the guy who said I was a virgin will never see his daughter again. 🤷🏻
Porn can derail your life like any vice. You drink too much it can destroy your body, as with drugs. But, in regards to vices it's a more tame one. Don't let it make you neglect your studies, don't let it derail your goals, don't let it control you. Maybe get yourself a partner and you can comfortably watch adult movies together, talk about what made them or you both feel this or that and maybe you can gain a more intimate and deep understanding of each other's "shadow" so to speak.
But yeah man, it definitely sounds like it was ruining your life and you were right to cold turkey and quit the stuff. Porn might have prevented me from being driven into the ground by one of these parasites out here.

I've never really heard anyone describe using porn to unchain yourself from caring about the dating pool being tainted by todays activities, but i used to be like that
But I grew up with a lot of rough fellas who did unspeakable shit behind their girlfriends back, and i also grew up with alot of people who treated them well. The same goes for girls, and if you try to imagine men and women on the same specrum of horrid, you can see you just need to be smart about the woman you select. Easier said than done but trust your gut, if you have doubts, dont date them in the first place and end up trapped because you're spineless. I met my mrs when she was 18, i was 23, she'd only been with 1 other fella, she was quiet, didn't party much, was into art and studied at university. I knew that relationship would go the mile, and we're 5 years strong. No marriage, we rent and have 2 cats, why rush

I would suggest that those guys were probably infected by porn too. Picked the wrong woman on top of that. It's not easy either way but porn definitely sabotages relationships in a slow "death by 1000 cuts" method. I know there are guys who put the Pu**y on a pedestal which is a recipe for disaster however. Perhaps it saved you from bad woman in the past, but it fucks you for a good woman in the future, in a long term relationship.
