The 2022 defense benefited from an offense that was hitting on all cylinders so they were able to play with a lead which allowed them to rack up more sacks but remember how they often got toasted by good quarterbacks. That was the nasty little secret that got exposed in the superbowl
The 2022 defense had 77 QB sacks - an extraordinary number. In the Super Bowl the Eagles - if I recall correctly- did not get a single sack. And the Chiefs were not called for a single hold. Now watch the video and focus on the KC OL. It will blow your mind.
The 2022 defense was only good at dline and getting sacks. The 2024 defense is good at dline, getting sacks, forcing turnovers and better play at the secondary level
Our great pass rush was also negated by a poor playing field in super bowl 57. On turf this year, they should have solid footing to rush the passer. The defense is a much better mix of talent and good coaching. That's the main difference between this year's defense and in 57. Ultimately - pound the rock on the ground with Barkley and Hurts, keep the ball out of Mahomes' hands, and go get that ring!
I feel like in 2022, the defensive line was the obvious strength of the defense and covered up issues on the back end, and if they couldn't get home, it was trouble for the birds. This year, it's hard to point out the actual strength of the defense as they are just playing together so well within the structure of fangio's defense. I would have to say that this years defense is overall better than the 2022 team. Also, there is a better combination of size and speed on the back end, whether it's at linebacker or corner. Both burks and baun move better than white and edwards. Dejean is a definite upgrade from Maddox, and bradberry could never run like quinyon who also has good size for the position and plays with good technique and awareness, especially for a rookie.
Omg yes. This year's D is far better than 2022. They cover better, they are fundemently sound, very quick to react and get to the ball and they tackle. They also have far more elite starters than they did in 22. I'm not saying KC won't move the ball..but I would be shocked if they got carved up all game long. I just don't see it. AND if the birds have a lead in the last minute of the 4th...I think they can stop them.
In 22 TJ Edwards wasn’t in the same universe as Baun this year. The defense this year is way better than 22. Chiefs offense finished 17th in yards and 15th in points. Not very dynamic. 22 offense for the Eagles statistically was better than this year but its hard for me to say I would take that group over this year with Saquon.
Totally agree about TJ. He made a ton of tackles but they were usually 7 yards past the line of scrimmage. Dean and Baun fill the gaps much better and make their tackles close to the line.
I have to agree with you there, Baun has been playing way better than Edwards was in 2022, not to take anything away from Edwards, but Baun is a better athlete and has been great with filling gaps. Was a bit worried about Burks at first, as he didn't look great in his first game replacing Dean, but he has definitely improved over the past couple weeks.
You guys need to do player by player comparison 22v25 Eagles Team. I completely disagree that the 22 team was better. The Barkley factor, safeties and corners better. I don’t think the Oline is any worse.. no disrespect to Kelce. Isaac Seumalo, I could argue is the reason we lost the Super Bowl, he false starts and cost us a 1st down, the next play, trying to pick up lost yardage we give up a fumble for 7 points. While kicking this year is down, punting is way better, kick off return and punt return is better now… Will , Coop and Kenny… 🔥.
I agree that this team is better than the 22 team. More sacks doesn't equate to "better defense" Saquon alone makes the offense better than 22 was also imo...
My question is, if the Chiefs are more explosive this year on offense than in 22, why was the AFC Championship game the first time they scored 30 all year?
People look at what the chiefs have and not what they did this year being a middle of a road offense and defense...they have found a way to win but they are not as good 2 years ago
Defense is way better this year, that D wasn't great if they couldn't get to the QB and as we know that field made it hard to get to the QB. Our best offensive player we didn't have, barkley, and our best Defensive player we didn't have also in Carter. 22 team was better than 17 and this team is better than 22
This will not be a close game. This Eagles team is leaps and bounds more physical and will impose their will. We’ve heard from week to week that this teams explosive, you can’t run on them, you can’t cover their WRs, all the Eagles do is lock down receivers and shut down runners. Hunt, Mahomes, and Pacheco ain’t going for 100 combined rushing. This game will be over like most midway through the 3rd quarter when our bigger offensive line players impose their will, and our young defensive stars make plays. Even if we don’t get the turnovers will get the stops.
That defense he talks about never played well against good qbs. They were bad qb destroyers. This defense plays way more sound. That defense was pass rush heavy. They relied on players winning 1on1 instead of a pass rush where they don’t get out of rush lanes, and rush as a group. This type of defense is much more effective against a qb like Mahomes.
Here's the key to the game , very simple Get up big so the refs can't rig That and we better have our own grounds crew watching that fkn field like a hawk for 48 hours leading up to the game

@k.johnsonj5338 In 2022, the defensive line covered up some issues on the back end. This years team is definitely a better overall defense

I remember in 2022 when the defense didn't stop the chiefs once in the 2nd half
Watched it early on the Patreon, but I’m loving all this extra content leading up to the Super Bowl
Look at the ages of the defensive lines 2 years ago to now. Huge difference , same with back end , this defense is much younger and faster
Chiefs have scored over 30 once this year ! Once
The 2022 defense was only good at dline and getting sacks. The 2024 defense is good at dline, getting sacks, forcing turnovers and better play at the secondary level

@@christheanimeguy6114little known fact, Burke has a better 40 time than N Dean
@nickmartin8495 yeah burks can run. It's one of the reasons why he is a very good special teams player.
Eagles defense is way better this year..I agree with Mosher..
This team is better...
I would say this defensive line is better because they can sack and stop the run 22 team couldn’t stop the run
Bills was running the ball on them averaging 4.6 yards moving the ball they just got away from the run and went to passing
@@black4life333Cook was going off for 6.5 yds/carry. Texans were also able to run on the chiefs
@@black4life333yep because that’s what allen is expected to do.. cared more about stats than doing whatever was necessary

We probably will since we have more time for shows with the team on bye.

Lol this team is way better then 2022 team! On defense it's not even close im sorry. Plus vic is a thousand times better then Gannon
My question is, if the Chiefs are more explosive this year on offense than in 22, why was the AFC Championship game the first time they scored 30 all year?
Bills defense isn’t that good and lost top corner that game
They have the potential to be very explosive. Have chosen different path with the passing game.
People look at what the chiefs have and not what they did this year being a middle of a road offense and defense...they have found a way to win but they are not as good 2 years ago

Speed doesn’t really matter as you can’t block and I think their offensive line isn’t as good as it was when they played us in the Super Bowl
I disagree 2024 roster is better
