For whatever my opinion is worth, I feel you have given the most honest and knowledgeable reaction to this amazing video I have ever witnessed. I’m an old man who is truly, truly thankful you shared your thoughts.
This cover is one of the greatest ever. The way your lips pursed and curled as if you were thinking, “What is this guy *doing* to me?” Then you mentioned the full-body goosebumps. Yeah… David *does* that. Love your channel
I’m almost embarrassed to admit I just recently discovered the cover of this song. I’ve heard of Disturbed and had listened to a couple of his top songs which I thought were good but wow did I underestimate his power and talent. This was on another level. Although this song was written and performed long ago it’s amazing how accurate it describes our situation today in the world.
I **love** a good cover, and with the possible exception of Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt, this is the greatest cover of *any* song, *ever*. And it's a very, very close thing.
@@christomashofski9160 not heard it. It may be considered sacrilege, but I'm really not a fan of the style. Operatic and Symphonic Metal just don't do anything for me. If you're a female vocalist, I want fry or growl. Or scream. Or all three. That's why I think Jinjer is the band of the decade. . Like I said though, I like a GOOD cover. Most of Marilyn Manson's covers for example. Or every single video on Ten Second Songs.
@@uncle_thulhu I hear ya. The Pink Floyd cover doesn't include the female vocalist. She's backstage doing a wardrobe changeout. The Viking bassist sings with an appropriate amount of grit. Guitar keeps true to Floyd's roots with Empuu's own unique style. Jukka's work on the drumkit is absolutely breathtaking. If you would like to give it a test listen, here's a good link: ruclips.net/video/9DLtMinPcZU/видео.html :)
3 things: 1- this song gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it. 2- definitely listen to the live version 3- I love this reaction and love how you dove into the lyrics as well as the music and vocals.
The live version he does is even more epic. You're getting very good at breaking down the technical aspects. As a singer you have more knowledge than myself and other non-singers about that part. You know what it takes to make the sounds. This is definitely a goosebump inducing song. The lyrics by Simon and Garfunkel are just profound and are amazing no matter who sings them. I figured you'd really feel the peak of the song just before the end! Love the reaction! Thank you as always!
His name is David Draiman. He was classically trained as a cantor and was raised in an orthodox Jewish family. His voice is so powerful and he reaches his full range effortlessly. Paul Simon who originally wrote this song back in the early 1960's apparently also loves this version, which says a whole lot.
At the same time you did the expression of "goosebumps" up your arms is EXACTLY what this song does for me as well... My father passed away in 2017 at the age of 71 and his favorite song of all time was the original "Song of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkle... a year or so before he passed, I said... "Pop, you gotta listen and watch this version of your song..." Pop was not only impressed, but actually cried and said this is even better than the original! Needless to say this was played at his wake... and again at home for the celebration party of his life... AMAZING
You need to react to “down with the sickness” by disturbed to get a feel for what this band normally sounds like and it will give you an even greater appreciation. You need to listen to the full version as well. The music video is the short version
I love how deeply you understood the song. Everything you said is true, the song was written to warn people about how technology will separate us "the people bowed and prayed to the neon god they made"
This cover makes one listen to the profound lyrics and the story is told by the music and by the gorgeous voice of David. He has got to have an angel and a demon in his soul to portray the story so well. He is definitely gifted!
I first heard the song only a month ago and they play it all the time both the official and the Conan version and I believe when everyone says that the Conan version is better. Especially how the camera captures him singing it plus I really like watching people's reaction because I enjoy it so much that is the song. I enjoy watching other people hearing it for the first time and it blowing their minds. I have never heard a song so well sung in my entire life.
This is the best cover of all time for me (from song were I know the original first). I knew Simon & Garfunkel's version a long time before I heard this but there's just so much power and emotion in this version. This should've won a Grammy award but Beyonce collabed with some rock guitarist and beat Disturbed to the award
I loved your honest reaction and enjoyed your insightful commentary. You actually get what this song is all about. God bless you. This is my favorite rendition of this song. His interpretation truly brings out the true meaning of the lyrics. Simon and Garfunkel sang to alarm us, Disturbed sings to give us a final warning. You should watch the live performance on Conan when you get a chance. Amazing performance despite the fact that David Draiman had the flu.
Beautiful, rich, genuine, interpretation, and excellent examples of the lyrics deep, deep, multifaceted, multidimensional meaning! Your description of David Draihman's voice is the best ever, and I have listened to over 50 of the best First Reaction videos fro voice professionals from dozens of countries. Great Job, I am now a subscriber!
An amazing voice that is more voice than any one person should have. Very few people have the gift that he has, and even fewer can control it as well as he does.
Loved watching your reaction. Funny and sincere. Thanks for that. I also agree that it is hard to find words to describe how well his voice fits this song. It's almost magical.
Great reaction! I've been a Disturbed fan forever! I've seen them in concert three times. They are amazing. I love their covers. Land of Confusion by Phil Collins and Shout by Tears for Fears. They always put their signature on it. They do alot of covers but they do many new things as well for past 20 years. What longevity. Amazing.
Great reaction! I love this song! I loved the original but was blown away by this! Best cover ever and it touches my soul every time I hear it! Thank you!
I know I'm late to the bus, but I loved your reaction... so awesome.. thank you. Edit - (as I watch more) I realize you are wise beyond your years... Personally, I like the Official video video version where you can see and feel the power in his face. Thank you for doing that version.
That was a cover of a Simon & Garfunkel song. They did an amazing job on that song but that is not their usual sound. Try Down with the Sickness and here is the link for the uncut version. The official music video cuts out the whole last verse. ruclips.net/video/RzxuknbQ5VY/видео.html
Excellent reaction and spot on with the your ability to pull the meaning out of the lyrics. Song reminds me of the talking heads on on Television spewing words and saying nothing, just causing division among people. Thanks for you heart felt reaction!

Hi Yulia. I think that was probably one of the best reactions you've done so far. And the way you understood what the song meant was right on. Was good watching you again. Been away for a little while but things are getting better. Getting a new drum kit in a few weeks really looking forward to playing again. Thank you for that reaction. Hope you and you're family are well, stay safe.
I liked, how calm and settled you were in the beginning. I told myself, oh, she might be emotionless, distant... and how the reaction went through the song. I was really surprised, because I wasn't expecting it. Yep, assumption is not a good thing, because we might be completely wrong. And also the comments after the song, that's something I agree with. Thank you, for expressing your opinion, sharing it with us. :) Have a beautiful Christmas. Take care.
after watching you do this reaction, I went to your channel to watch your video of Invisible. you look awesome and sing awesome. thank you for performing that song

David Draiman's voice is angelic and demonic. Like no other.
Thats very well put.
Like no other? Uh, Chester Bennington?

David's voice so powerful and poignant it's astounding

Lyrical audacity. Vocal audacity. Symphonic audacity. Said differently? This song is magnificent!
When Simon and Garfunk sang this song it came off as a warning of what is to come.
Disturbed's version says it's here now! Do something!
that is exactly correct. i listened to the S&G tune a million times in my youth, and now it comes of age.
I very much agree with what you had to say about the meaning of how the song impacts us. Well said.
