Oh dang I just uploaded my 'Review of Reviews' video this morning of the witcher path of destiny, I could have add some stuff into it. haha oh well! Great interview!
what we need in the future from the Witcher IP is a co-op story driven RPG tabletop experience similar to the video game, and not being afraid to go with a more heavier approach since the video game itself is no easy walk in terms of mechanics as well as gameplay.. similar to gloomhaven, oathsworn etc, where there is exploration, boss battles, normal enemies, loot, leveling up and other rig elements
Gatekeeping the KS exclusives for WtOW is a bad move IMO. I get no retail, but offering them in another crowdfunding campaign and/or charging extra for them make more sense. I feel this way on games I back on crowdfunding for those who find it later, and dislike it for games I find later as it makes me just not want any of it most of the time.
I agree that making crowdsource exclusives available on other platforms makes sense, but you wouldn't believe the whining in the campaign comment section that arises when asked for. Personally, I think it's a good thing if gamers can get their hands on good things, but others prefer an artificial scarcity so they can scalp for large profits. I'm more reluctant to ask them to provide retail items as they are basically screwing their retail partners if they do so.
Agreed. I won’t buy Witcher old world unless I can get the complete package. I did not know about the KS campaign and it’s not worth scalper prices just to play a board game. So go on will miss out on sales because they won’t sell the whole package again…
Well I am a few days late. But for me it seems Go On Board (indirectly CD Project Red) just wants to milk out more money from the IP after the KS success of The Old World. I mean, I hope I am wrong and don't want to jump to conclusions, but it seems that way. For me, I will pass on this one and maybe wait for the retail version if it will be any good.
Ugh! I missed out on the Old World KS (not knowing about it) and with it being solidified that the KS exclusives will not be available again means I will not look to get Old World. While it may be a great game, my logic is that I don't have many games so the games I DO get, I like to get everything for them (because I play the bejebus out of them!) Absolutely my loss (I understand this) but it also means Go On Boards' loss of me unfortunately (but alas, I'm only 1 person). I'm not a fan of 1-time exclusives but I definitely appreciate "non-retail" exclusives.
I'm not a fan of them including an expansion that is only available in the all-in (and I say this as an all-in backer). It should be offered as a paid add-on.
Really enjoyed the interview and answers, thanks Alex , thanks GOB

The main question is, will we be able to get old world expansions that are planned to be released in retail during this campaign?
I'd assume so, but they'll hit retail before, so it makes more sense to buy them from your local store and save up on shipping

You're not missing much. The playmat and an additional character Ciri.
Otherwise everything important gameplay wise can be bought
