By the time I moved to the area (2005) the bus garage was gone and Wickes was on the site. The White Horse pub had also closed. I'm not sure the petrol station and the garage were still there - they would have been replaced by Lincoln House later but for some reason I can't remember if they were there in '05. The houses further towards Norbiton Church had already given way to ASDA. All very nostalgic. The area looks more down-market than now but these days so much has gone and been replaced

My grandparents lived round the back of this garage. Shame it went. Nice to see that red tape was not in force then by driving with doors open.
I didn't realise the Hoppa buses were running 36 years ago. Thought they were a 90s thing. Also interesting to see a single decker 213 bus.
The traffic was as bad in 1988 as it is today
What a waste of money and effort to build this garage (NB) only to be demolished a few years later. 😢
