Anne Hathaway in Alice in Wonderland is a great example of someone having the same problem, but the stylists made it work by keeping her brows black and giving her a dark, bold lip colour. She looked dramatic and a little gothic, the contrast was made out to look intentionally odd and I think that's why it worked.
@Blondie-e8o Personally, I disagree, it worked perfectly for the role she played. Her character was meant to be sweet yet odd and a little bit unsettling, and she was.
@Blondie-e8o Neither of them are Latina, and neither of them are men either. I don't trust your judgement Blondie, so I won't be continuing this discussion further. Goodbye.
Hathaway as White Queen is the Burton look. It's supposed to be a bit off. Winona Ryder in Sissorhands, Christina Ricci in Sleepy Hollow and many female characters in his movies have this kind of look that's intentional.
@@norijean3279 Yes Burton's style is truly worth appreciating. I think it's refreshing to see celebrities who are not in gothic roles/films breaking the rules of color harmony too though. Kim K, who is also a Deep Autumn/Winter like Arianna, did it well too especially when she was rocking all black outfits. There are definitely ways to make it work.
Shes worn darker pink Glinda themed outfits in her promotion which match her better. Interestingly there is a Light yellow outfit that she wore I think looks better on her than the those light pinks.
@ Why? She very much did a great job. I’m probably missing why people are against these actresses but both were awesome. Not sure what was original to the movie verses the Kristen Chenoweth role. Who else was up for the role?
Ariana looks bad now, compared to a few years ago. She is sickly thin, and the blond hair and eyebrows is unflattering to her coloring. She also wears cool pastels, which look awful on her. Why is she not embracing her natural coloring? I agree with your color analysis.
@@AliceVFame Women can wear what they like, but people are naturally attracted to beauty. Plus looking good usually makes you feel good. Why would you want to look ugly(er)/ less attractive on purpose? Unless you perhaps suffer from self-hate or mental illness.
To me she’s really more fit for warm tones but can sometimes pull off cool/ash tones but yea lately the blonde and spring colors are not as flattering. It is for a role but I can’t wait for her to go back to brunette
I always viewed Ariana grande as a dark winter not a warm tone. She can pull of warm and cool because of her deepness in her season and is one of the most flexible seasons. I would still say she is cool toned though.
I can agree as someone with a similar light olive/neutral skin tone and dark features(that I have once changed myself to be lighter, just not my brows). These features can be very versatile with colors. I think she is trying to achieve the ballet, pastel pink tones with light makeup right now to appear more Glinda-esque! With trying to maintain the right tone of blonde as she continues to retouch her hair.
Hi, can I ask something? You said in a video recently that the best color for cool winter is cherry red/true red, but it's the only color from the cool winter color palette that doesn't look good on me. Any explanation for that, please? My skin is Eastern European, fair, with blue and purple /pink shades.
What about Bright, I hear that a lot? I think I’m a neutral leaning to warm and I thought I was a Bright Spring but then I thought a Bright Winter and then a Soft Autumn 😂. I was always brunette as a kid, I know I am not very deep or very cool. I’m colour blind and this is really difficult.
@andreiadetavora8471 I understand that. I was speaking generally. It's confusing for me because you can't really tell a light spring from a light summer in black and white even though the light spring is supposed to be higher contrast. Sorry, it's just something I noticed when they were doing this exersize in black and white
She looks like an absolute doll ❤ She is breathtaking 🎉 This woman needs to look at her own spectrum and try a mask on I can"t even look at her or hear her voice This jealous hater is talking about the only thing she can feel ENVY Absolutely pathetic 😂
The analysis is good! As usual spot on. I think the idea here is creativity and of course the movie role. For those that see her as “off” this is just an explanation of why she looks pretty and not GORGINA. She looks alot like an ethereal. See Winona Rider in Edward Scissorhands.
The six dominant characteristics and the scale is great, but then you put them into the 12 or 16 palettes and you forget the scale and it’s only high and low rather the middle. Please talk like this more about the middle! I keep waiting and hoping …
Omg yes, thank you so much for making this video!! Lately I’ve felt that Ariana has hired all the wrong, incompetent stylists and they are doing her so dirty! Even in the Wicked movie! There were scenes where she looked so ghostly and alien-like that I was like 😵🫣🫢 Luckily it didn’t distract too much from her incredible performance but I am so shocked her team has let this happen! Don’t even get me started on her looks for the Zach Sang show and her performance of “Oh Santa” with Mariah Carey last year!! Kills me to see her in the wrong hands!!! 😭😭😭
People need to lighten up. Women are never making it out of the patriarchy with other women screaming at how this and that actress has let herself go. As if she MORALLY failed society by having a bad look.

I was waiting for someone to make this video. In my opinion, she’s a deep autumn wearing light summer hair and clothing!
Exactly that plus autumns look the worst in pinks. Sorrry it's just not for them.
It’s because she is in Wicked and her character is blonde character Glinda. I saw it today and I really enjoyed it.

The 6 Dominant C. If I'm in the middle: med. light/deep, med. warm/cool and med. soft/clear where do I fit in the wheel? 😅

cuz wicked lol she’s playing glinda
@itzjulez-i5d I don't understand why she would dress in "Glinda colors" outside the movie, especially if they don't look good on her.
@@m.b.ortega544because she is promoting the movie… it’s logical why she is dressing in these colors and her hair color.
Do women owe it to society to always maximize their beauty? Can a woman not play around and have fashion faux-pas?

Olive skin! It can look off with red tones

She was actually even more blonde but yes her eyes were very much the focus it was off but she still looked pretty.
Her eyes look like they’re in the sunken place and it makes me very uneasy to look at
She looks like audrey Hepburn
Aren't people who are dominantly light low contrast if you use the black and white photos to judge?
Yes, but she has contrast in her dark eyes

Blonde totally changes her this is why i stopped colouring my hair blonde bc it made me look ill all the time
She's a Dark Autumn; blonde is never going to look right on her
It's not her color whatsoever lol she looked so good as brunette
But I actually think her look is way more beautiful then before, is like a fairy. I like the light everything. ❤But maybe my eyes are just confused
You're confused, she looks sickly and washed out, she looked way more beautiful with her natural coloring.
She doesn't look sick, that's a massive over exaggeration.
She's not that 19 year old girl anymore. She's a 31 year old woman who looks 39.
Unnecessarily mean comment.
