Greetings from New Zealand 😊
Hey what time is it there?! 👋🏻
Hi 😀 its 9am here Autumn so summer now gone, i live in Tauranga North Island by the beach. I really like channel please up load even the small things 😊
I thought I'd watched some other videos of yours and commented (must have been another channel) how im training my own racehorse at the moment, he's my first we have had a few weigh in but not won yet, we both trying very hard 😊
@@bernesemuir8022 Yes you did, you need to let me know when you have a winner! 👍🏻
@@Training_Racehorses yes I most definitely will do 😁, looking at a start 2200m on 27th May
I'd like to know how to schedule the exercises. I'm new on this and I want to new to train my horse to racing.
We have a daily schedule with 4 different timeslots for exercising so they will go out at a certain time depending on what their exercise is for that day.
I have a question. How do you pull a racehorse up to a stop? Thanks :)
If thought properly they learn when to stop but you use a combination of pressure on the reins, leaning back with your body and using your voice.
I race my horse and I’m trying to get him in shape again as I haven’t been racing in a couple months. What would you say the best way to get a horse fit is?
Lots of steady work for conditioning and sprints for anarobic fitness, if you do HIT sprints 2 or 3 times a week and steady cantering the other days you won't be far away. Nutrition is another vital part of training and can often make the difference between winning and losing.
@@Training_Racehorses…out of curiosity, I can’t remember such along time ago I used to ride maybe 30 years ago now or more I’m in my 50,s ,from memory what amount of time it take from a horse that’s come in from the paddock to race start about 12 to 16 weeks ,3 to 4 months ,I can’t remember
@@fishmut Yes it totally depends on the horse, some naturally push themselves more and require less training to get to full fitness.
What a lovely video you have made thanks as a trainer of pacers in NZ what is the speed meter you use thanks I am looking at the Aerioneo Equimetre is this what you use thanks
Thank you that’s very kind, I use a GoPro and it has the software built-in.
@@Training_Racehorses Thanks very much for this information.
How ride racehorses and how to set in canter
Is long slow work better than Breezing often?
Can normal people can see the stable and the horses
What distance does the horse travell?
They walk a mile to the gallops and then exercise over anything from half a mile to two miles usually
I would like to ask if there are job opportunities for migrant workers in Newmarket? I am a Filipino dreaming of working with the racing industry since I was young.
How Long Normally it Takes for a Race Horse to Start Getting Fit. Specifically a Young Filly, And How much Minutes Maximum should a Race Horse in Tra be Swimmed
Ouch, that looked like a painful scratch on your hand. I'm curious, is the gallop path just sand or a mix?
That was from our cat, she’s mellowed out these days. The path is just sand.
@@Training_Racehorses Ah, I have a few of those scratches too. LOL We're getting ready to build a gallop track so gathering info on different types. ;) Thanks!
As a first time rider on a racehorse what are some tips you could give
Stay calm, be strong and live in the moment. Too many novice riders spend their time worrying about what their horse might do rather than just being in the present moment.
The problem with worrying about what a horse might do is that you tent to react to something they haven't done and inadvertantly make them do do the very thing you were afraid of.
For instance... when riders think "He's going to try and run away with me" they grab the reins shorter and grip tighter, to a racehorse this means "Ok, it's time to go!". So by thinking about them running off with you, you will have manifested just that.
Another peice of advice is to not react to every little thing they do If you get annoyed with a horse every time they spook or stumble, you will just make them more nervous and if you keep reacting every time they move things will spiral out of control.
They saying goes:"Relax in the brain and send it down the rein"
Would you like to let me know what is the best food for racing horses?
Most horses get a fully balanced mix of mostly cereals and grains.
What is the distance of the ling hill?
It's 7 furlongs
And in ds Video I have Jyst Seen is it a Gallop Breeze or Work
At 28 miles an hour they are just doing a canter.
Once you get over 30 mph you begin galloping and top speeds range out at anything from 35 to 42 mph.
Thanks Very Yur Answer was Very Educational
Racehorses are the best
Funny though
Always going to be exceptions
But generally speaking
Only the top trainers have them!?
