The key factor, especially if KP can't suit up, will be Siakam and Turner because besides Horford who else can match up to them? Also Pacers have lengthy wings plus McConnell who can help neutralize White and Jrue but also guard Tatum and Brown. Pacers also can keep up scoring wise with transition and especially if Celtics miss a ton of 3s in a game it could get interesting. JJ the fact that the team that gets more rebounds wins more is just logical.
    Normally there is higher chance of defensive rebound than an offensive one so if a team got more rebounds it doesn't necessarily mean they dominated on the offensive boards, it can just mean that the other team shot poorly and because of that had more defensive rebounding opportunity than the opponent.
    There's huge coloration between rebound difference and fg% difference. So you should always focus on both or just compare rebounds % (defensive/offensive) that's way more relevant to check who actually dominated just the rebounding category regardless of the shooting.

    Jaden McDaniels is the X factor for the Timberwolves, defensively, but more importantly offensively. He scored a quiet 23 in game 7 and similar in game 6. If Jaden has a hot hand, drives to the basket, hits those corner 3 point shots. Dallas is going to have trouble, because they have to pick their poison, Ant, KAT, Jaden and the Wolves still have solid secondary offensive options with Conley, Gobert and Naz. In addition, if NAW plays solid defense against the Mavs, the Wolves will wear Luka and Kyrie down.

They stopped going to it because it wasn't as advantageous as they thought. Rudy is sometimes serviceable out there, but even if you get by him now you have KAT or Jaden there in help. Jaden is probably and even better weakside defender than he is an on ball defender, and he's elite on ball.

    It all depends how the Mavs utilize what Derrick Jones Jr. brings to the table, cuz he was playing brilliant defense on SGA in the last two games of the OKC series. I know SGA still scored a lot in those games but he scored very few over him. He was constantly forcing him to give the ball to someone else.

      Not the same teams in the slightest. Minnesota actually has good defensive players besides Rudy. You were playing against Joe Ingles, bojan, Mitchell, and an injured Conley. The wolves got 2 all defensive caliber players on the perimeter in McDaniels and NAW and Ant is a very good defender as well. I don't think you can expect to go 5 out and force rudy on luka as much as you think you will. These are not the Jazz teams with no defensive players besides Rudy. I don't know people keep comparing them. Did the nuggets and suns series not prove that?

      @brixaabrixaa3390 Ant will take on Luka a bit. He will mainly be on kyrie. Mcdaniels will likely get the luka matchup and he's arguably the best perimeter defender in the league. Ant is also a very good defender. He's not quite at the elite level but he isnt that far off from it. NAW also is one of the better perimeter defenders in the league and he will get run on both kyrie and Luka. I truly don't think the wolves will throw a lot of doubles although it's possible. They got a lot on the perimeter to be aggressive and can afford to do so because Minnesota got 3 big men that can make it difficult to score inside. The only weakness defensively is Conley and even he is around average at defense. If dallas plays iso ball on offense, the timberwolves will be happy to see it. My original point to the original comment was that this isn't the Jazz. You got good defensive players everywhere. Luka and the mavs aren't just gonna score at will. Honestly I'm expecting a defensive series from both sides.

      @jordankunkel3333 13 дней назад +1

      @djkido316 when did I say Ant was gonna be the main guy guarding Luka??????? That will be Mcdaniels. Ant will take kyrie and in some parts of the game, he will guard Luka as he's their 3rd best perimeter defender. If NAW or Mcdaniels are not in the game Ant will guard Luka. If one of them are, they will guard luka. When Mcdaniels and NAW are on the court together, they switch quite a bit with each other. Ant is not a bad defender, and since he's not going to be on Luka the majority of the time, I don't understand your point. Ant is a good defender who is much more than a scorer and is the best 2 way guard in the league. You could argue SGA as well but hes at the worst 2nd best 2 way guard in the league. Ant won't guard luka a lot but he will a bit when NAW and Mcdaniels are not in the game. None of what you said matters in the slightest when Ants main matchup is kyrie. So stop talking about ant not being able to guard luka when he will be the 3rd option to guard luka. You are dealing with Mcdaniels not ant.

      As a Luka fan, I think its reasonable to give it to Jokic, I would say they are clearly 2 best players in the league, SGA being above Luka in voting is unreasonable in my opinion tho.

    I expect Ant on Luka and Conley on Ky. And I expect it to work tbh. There is a good chance Minnesota will lock down Dallas. The question is: will Dallas be able to do the same to Minnesota. If so, I like Dallas chances. If not, it won’t be a long series imo

    It gets exhausting listening to these kind of dudes. Everything's a long monologue so they cover all their bases verbally, to receive less reaction from listeners. And it's impossible to listen to the less knowledgeable loud hot take losers too. There's no one for rational thinking people who don't want to be bored. These 'new media' proponents, who have decided to sell their soul to corporate gambling (yeah you're really different from the old media heads, what a joke) ... this ain't it either chief. Maybe the next round of media people, years down the road, will get this stuff down better.

    32:14 Pacers full court is about shortening the shot clock in the half court. The Celtics tendency to walk it up could help the Pacers. If Celts settle for 16 seconds, they could have a problem.

    How did all of a sudden Ant become a better offensive threat than SGA? Y’all just out here trying to discredit Dallas and glaze Ant. Let’s be real here, Nuggets didn’t have a lengthy perimeter defensive specialist. Dallas has 2 and they play them together.
    Nuggets were outmatched it was pretty impressive how they almost won this series.

    Everyone skipping the Pacers seems a little hasty to me. The Celtics are going to be playing small ball for at least the first game and then they have to hope KP can handle big minutes going forward. If I had to put money on I'm still taking the Celtics but I do feel this is going to 6 or 7 and I really wouldn't be shocked if Indiana takes it.
