i’m normally all for reinterpretations and a little bit of reworking for live sets, but this is a case where it just doesn’t pay off. one of her finest pop tracks, butchered by overindulgence.
it's an artistic experience and show. sound-wise, it's deeply selfish of course - if you wanted to have a party with roisin there was no point in wasting your time there. dissonance and jarring all over the place. i love her style, but she's not only too cool for school with her costumes and dancing (she rocks), but clearly also with the music. the latter would annoy the sh*t outta me there.
i think you got me wrong. i totally agree with you - overall, as a musical experience this performance is giving me nothing as a listener. it's the kind of concert where the band are simply doing 'their thing' with no regard as to whether the sound they produce is gonna be actually appreciated and enjoyed by their audience. a selfish performance, imho. it's all nice for roisin and her band to be the coolest kids in town, but i might not be prepared to listen to the dissonant and noisy difficult result. i prefer the tracks from the albums.
Agreed. Killed one of her best songs. This is so far left that even the audience can't participate. The original song is so stand alone in it's brilliance that I would have been upset to be there and here this ATTEMPT to make it something else.

I like how they innovate and stuff but the banjo there was a bad choice in my opinion. And drums are also missing. still is always a good experience.

Too much going on, it was hurting my ears. Sometimes less is better.
