- Snooker table build for Mark Williams Exhibition at Westborough Ratepayers WMC on 22/11/19. Includes lighting installation. Table supplied and built by Billiard Supply Company (Huddersfield) www.billiardsup..., tel 01484 424333. Sponsored by Morley Glass www.morleyglas...
Once built the table was fantastic, with 4 breaks over 100, and a further 3 breaks over 50 in just 10 frames
Nice!
Why after all that leveling, didn't they fill the gaps between the Slate slabs with putty then sand it down?
They should have done that before laying the cloth.
I agree. I even went back and watched again to be sure. I can't believe they wouldn't seal the space between the slates. The residue near the joints is sawdust from them drilling the wood on the table. They never sealed it. For a table that expensive I would be very unhappy.
@@2buxaslice I've been watching the 2021 World Championships on Matchroom Live streaming service, they leave the cameras and audio on that overlooks both tables and the audience seats after the matches for several hours.
Directly after the end of days play, several table technicians come in and adjust the tables.
Today, after 5 days play, they are currently putting new bed cloth on both tables, both tables have the old cloth removed [ which is carefully rolled up and marked on the rear with the date and which table it came from], then the old putty between the slate slabs is cut, then the tables are re-leveled [Especially around the Black spot ], and then new putty applied and then sanded down before the new bed cloth applied.
If you have Matchroom Live you can watch these table technicians do their stuff directly after the last match of the day, very interesting how the pro's do it.
Granted, they are adjusting the top of the line STAR tables, which can be micro leveled by turning bolts underneath the slate.
@@2buxaslice This is our exhibition table installed for one night and taken down the following day. We install it like this several times a year. The slate edges are perfect and butt together with no lips or chips. If we were to fill and sand the joints every time we installed it the this would lead to a hollow or dip in the slate joints which would effect the run of the ball.
If it was a permanent installation then yes we would fill the joints.
