STEM can totally do dark academia. Sitting up late, reading ancient theorems by long-dead writers. Writing observations down in a large notebook with careful hand. Staying up with a pot of coffee, working on a report in the golden glow of the lamp until three in the morning. Teaching yourself the language of your discipline. Learning the Greek alphabet. Meeting up with friends in the library to struggle through the material together. Listening to classical music in the lab and as you study.

Especially when i was in Anatomy and Physiology we could easily spend 3 hours in the library then have to run to class because we forget our other classes exist until we only have 10 min to get to them haha.
DwarvenRunes I go to Uni to do Biology, and my labs are in old 19th century buildings with the subjects ingrained in stone on the outside, with the zoology building having stone craved animals on the outside. There's also old anatomy theatres, 1800s (where dissections where performed to an audience) that I have some lectures in. Plus the old anatomy of animals and plants textbooks that weigh a tone. It also always fucking rains. And everyone's lab coats are stained with chemicals and pen ink, my flat mates and I have plans to put the lab coats on a skeleton
Yes! Goblin core, cottage core and dark academia are the trends my geeky little fantasy-loving ecologist heart needed. This has been my vibe forever, it's just nice to put a name and community to it ;)

I love both aesthetics. Place to live? Dark academia house in the middle of the woods. Books? Urban legends, myths and fairy tales. Clothes? Mixture of both. Profession? Author who writes about food, fairy tales and nature. Maybe even working with animals.

You can buy quills with metal tips (they last longer and are neater) I bought one from a country house gift shop but I’m sure you can find them online

@@froggy904 the feather fell off of mine (i have a set from them) they’re lovely but just know that the feather may fall out (good opportunity to switch and play around w different feathers tho!)
I guess a lot of people are allergic to them… I have a feeling the pens we use normally are more efficient as well, and less cruel. Not a lot of feathers fall off birds, which means that a lot are picked off of birds.

I’m not sure if it’s an American thing but the Wikipedia article about it says that you cant hunt, capture, kill, or sell birds that are listed as migratory birds. It also protects bird parts such as eggs, nests, and feathers which is probably why they mentioned it.
