Hello! If it possible, try Megabass Levante rod for jerbaits. I use F3-66LV and its great for 7-14 g lures. There is another model in this rod line, F4-68LV, for more heavier minnows.
I use jerkbaits alot for pike fishing here in Sweden. They are alot bigger thou, smallest is 12cm and 38g. I think these baits used in this video is called twithbaits here.. not really sure on that thou. But your right, jerkbait fishing is the funniest type of fishing. Really addictive. I use a Berkley Zilla pike 6'6" 30-80g rod and a revo 5 X reel on it. Works wonderful. Has become my most used combo.
I have a Aldebaran 31 MGL with 10lb Sunline Sniper on a Poison Adrena 6’10 M rod and a Aldebaran 16 BFS with .8 goh Sunline X4 on a Poison Adrena 6”8 L rod to throw all my jerkbaits.
The only issue I have with the piscifun carbon is the centrifugal brakes automatically engaging on long casts. Other than that it’s a pretty good reel. Customer service is great.
A surprising budget jerkbait combo is the KastKing speed demon pro jerkbait rod, 6'10 medium fast paired with a SLX MGL 70 , very lightweight and crisp
What do you think about the Piscifun Carbon XCS as a "budget" jerk bait reel? It's definitely light weight and has a high gear ratio. For the money, seems to perform well. OMG. I just finished watching the rest of the video and you have the same reel as your choice. Haha. Guess that answers my question. Keep up the great videos. Learned and saved so much from watching them! To date, I have 4 different Piscifun baitcasting reels and the Carbon is by far my favorite. When it comes to spinning, Shimano or Daiwa, but for my budget, Piscifun rules the baitcasters. (other than my Shimano SLX DC XT I just got for xmas)
A Great jerkbait to throw is the Berkeley Stunna 112's. They cost around $14 I catch more bass with the Stunna 112 than I do with my OVER PRICED MB Vision 110's.
I've never understood the need to change rod hands after every single cast. Just get a left handed reel and hold the rod with your right hand if its your dominant or vice versa. Of course you'll need to learn how to do this but if you ever use spinning gear it wont be so difficult. This way you can skip a step for every cast and your dominant hand won't be wasted on simply turning a handle
Love my 2nd gen exprides, added the 100mm gomexus handles with cork knobs to my curado mgl.

Haven't used that rod before but the slx mgl 70 is a pretty nice reel
Met 13 is one of the best performing/looking reels down to this very day.
What type of line is that monofilament or fluorocarbon line
great info and video, Thanks for sharing.
since you don't have issues losing fish on mf rods. do you think its necessary to use moderate rods for crankbaits?
