2021 I bought a brand new insight, now it has 200k kms, I usually use it for Uber. No problems so far I never use eco mode, I only use normal and sport mode. I live in Las Vegas and it is very hot here I run the air conditioning on full blast almost all summer. I get 45mpg in the summer, 52mpg in the winter, and the highest was 63mpg
Hi, I bought this as a part exchange to sell on, so couldn't say exactly. But for sure the hybrid unit would've had to have been changed at some point as they usually last around 140-180k miles.
Hi, I sold this now. But if you have jerkiness....I would recommend changing the Cvt gearbox oil. That should fix it. If after changing the Cvt oil it doesn't improve then the gearbox is likely worn. By the way when you do the Cvt gearbox oil change only use genuine honda oil. I think honda main dealer will do this service for you for about £130-150. Or if your doing yourself...you'll need 4 litre bottle..which is about £50-60
How are the batteries on these hybrids when buying a used one? I see a 2010 one with 130k miles for 8 thousand dollars near me but I worry the battery may need a replacement?? Is this a problem with all hybrids? When buying a Prius that’s 10 years old etc you always gotta worry about the battery or do they last?
At that age and mileage depends on the service history. It's coming to an age and mileage where if the hybrid batteries haven't been changed already expect them to need to pretty soon. Generally they last around 140,000-180,000 miles...with replacement refurbished battery units costing around £1000-1500. I find the prius is generally a lot more robust than the insight. So if you have a choice then I'd say opt for a Prius. But same rules apply around checking service history. There are plenty of garages now that can change the Prius hybrid unit quite affordably...less so with the Honda insight
If serviced regularly they're pretty good, however some have reported issues with the Cvt . The Cvt needs oil change every 40k miles. Some are known to have a leak from the gearbox sump /seal so check for ...whining in normal driving, thuds in gear change and if possible put it up on a ramp or look underneath for any oil leaks both from the engine & gearbox. Overall if you can afford the extra get the Prius it's a better car
@@beautiful00786 depends on the model. Some have them, others were optional extra. If one doesn't have it. There's loads of mobile fitters who'll fit rear parking sensors around £150
Hi, sold this car about 10 months ago now, it was 258k at the time and looks like the customer put on over 12k miles since, so couldn't possibly say what current state of the car is. As per video back then engine gearbox were pretty good but bodywork not so, plus issue with passenger side mirror and window.
Nice..
I'm getting this car soon. Honda's are amazing with how many miles they can run
2010 insight 258k .... body work is a wreck compared to my 2010 insight, but then you said it has been used a s a taxi...... that explains it all ;)

Did you have to change the hybrid battery 🔋 at any point?
What components have you changed so far?

"Just needs a good shampoo" 🤣
Does your Insight have an issue with the CVT? like jerking when accelerating? If you have an issue with it how did you manage to fix it? Thanks

I’m at 364k, anyone have jerking issues when accelerating, and swaying to one side on highway?
Try changing the cvt gearbox fluid. Swaying...might be tracking
Please if any one knows the 2012 model does it have any serious problem ? how is the gear box on this car does cause any issues?thanks

I really hope the hybrid battery works, if you don’t mind me asking how much did you buy and sell it for?
@@byrichi1420 I think I sold it for £2250. Should be worth about the same now.
Bought it for £1450, hopefully there’s profit to be made, I’m picking it up tomorrow.
