  • In this video, we demonstrate how 3D scanning can help in the development of prosthetics and braces. By utilizing 3D scanners such as the new, affordable peel 3 - 3D scanner, along with software like Geomagic Freeform, a designer can quickly capture a patient's anatomy and design a brace or prosthetic ready for 3D printing or other manufacturing process.

If you were to scan a residual limb (leg) that needed a support device to apply corrective pressure to soft tissue how would you approach such a system? As in how would you create in interaction between scanning and support device to not interfere? Thanks alot.

informative video. Im having a 3d designer create a prosthetic leg model off the scan data of my actual legs, but they cannot 3d print.
If i get a working model files of these prosthetics, is this something your practice could print out and ship? Im not sure where youre out of.
If so, what is the best method of contact? Thanks!
Edit: just saw the contact info but ill wait a little before inquiring to see if there is a reply here first.

I loved your video. Is any certification necessary to be able to work in the healthcare field doing prosthetics? I have another question, I'm offering services with a handyscan 700 and trying to create related content on youtube to attract clients. my question is: does this type of content really attract companies and what do you recommend to me as a start-up company?
I really appreciate your content, it has helped me a lot to grow with the few clients I have so far. keep up the good work!

There are some different certifications to be a prosthetist. How that works for the actual design and build can vary. As far as RUclips content goes, you should determine the market and customer you want to focus on and create video around that idea. Good luck.
