First one I ever played was one of the '96 ones, trilogy or the one before, with my cousin on her older brothers 90s console. I remember there were special characters that you needed to insert a physical "key" into the console to use. Then I had one of the last PS 2 games they made in 2011-12 when everyone was saying the world was going to end. That was the game that made me into a huge fan of MK. Then X and now XL, my two favorites so far!

Why are 3D era MK games not liked by many people? Those titles had numerous great features like switching between different fighting styles and weapons, the conquest mode which gives you an open world experience to discover the universe of MK, the various interactive fighting arenas with death traps and that you can move everywhere and not just left and right. Plus the interesting stuffs which can be unlocked in the crypt.
Because it doesn't look like Mortal Kombat, a brutal 2D fighting game with digitalized characters to make them look more real. 3D Mortal Kombat looks like you're playing with dolls 😂

Mortal kombat 9 is mortal kombat 2011. we call it 9 bc its the main 9th installment in the series. The komplete edition is 9, with all the dlc. X is the sequel to 9. (I know its dumb they didnt call it “mortal kombat 10”). XL. Is X but with all the dlc hence the “xl” its like an extra large package. Its just dumb naming and marketing schemes. Wait til you see how many versions of mortal kombat 11 there is 🤣
