Great video! It is always nice to see a race from an individual perspective. Do you mind if we upload it to our channel? Full credit will be given, of course.
Such a great video! I trained for 6 months leading up to this race, in my final taper week I got the flu (Wednesday prior to race) killed my spirit not being able to race, but I got better to cheer on those who did race the Sunday. Im back up and running, in good spirits for the Winelands race in November 😎
Eish, sorry to hear this. Getting sick before a race is always a great stress. I’ve been blessed to have managed to do 11 Comrades and 10 Two Oceans and not get sick. In the weeks prior I am extra vigilant but still we can get sick. You made the right call by not running. Never run with flu. The Winelands marathon is a little more hilly but it is really beautiful. I love it as a marathon - one of my favorites.
@@africaunexpected Amazing accomplishments for sure!! Will come back to this comment section in a few years to update my resume lol, tha ks for that and yeah, I am looking forward to the hills our there!
What an awesome video thank you! Congratulations to you and Luke! Last year I swore I was not going to run CT marathon again, and then I was back again this year to finish my 6th! Was lekker to relive the race again with you guys now!
Great video! I was in the 6:28 bus and it’s funny to see all the energetic people on the side of the road, when we passed them they were much less energetic 🤣🤣 more like get done now man loll.
I think k the supporters do get tired too…but nothing like us runners. Well done on finishing. Being on the road for over 6 hours is a big achievwment. 🎉
@@africaunexpected I avoided the typical "try sleep early" and went to bed at 11pm. Alarm at 2h30. Just tossed and turned. Doesn't help I was on a blow-up mattress. Lol
Well done Luke, that was brilliant how you stayed on and on.
Such a great video! Thank you for taking us on the journey. Lovely to see the route, the people, and why people run! Awesome stuff.
Glad you came along for the “run”. It was fun sharing it with you.
awesome video man
Glad you liked it

It definitely has a huge atmosphere. There are prettier marathons, but this is a winner for atmosphere.

Well done. I know the feeling. And once you are at 6 you think “I might as well do 7..and 8, and I’m so close to 10…”

Thank you for sharing this adventure, well done Luke, well done everyone!
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it. Next year, you and the family can join us :-)
You started and finished in high spirits ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽🎉🎉🎉🎉. I’m running my first next year. Been training all year and building endurance
It takes a bit to keep the spirits up over such a long run, but was a great event. A long and steady training is really good. Keep it up.
well put together video
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
This was my first marathon as well, Luke did well 😂🎉
Well done. It's a great marathon to do as a first one. I hope to do it again next year with my son for his first marathon.
Tyred tyred poor David 😂😂
LOLs - He was tyred :-)
I only managed about 1.5 hours of sleep the night before.
Yeah, that is always the issue. Trying to get sleep when you have to wake up early.
