I’m listening again because this guy had a rather peaceful tour, enlisted as a Reservist, admits to the harassment at Paris Island but somehow incredibly, stayed on there for three months! Went to Vietnam, never fired a shot in anger, no search and destroy marches, no walking point, sleeping in the brush, booby traps, etc., and yet he was a sharp shooter. So matter of fact about things, seems balanced and rather not suffering from PTSD or otherwise. I guess his story is somewhat luck and somewhat his personality that seems so agreeable and accepting. On that ship stuck in Singapore with three dollars. I would have gone nuts’

You can’t fly backseat F-4 and get wings unless you were an officer with 9 montht Navigator training.
